I love this video. It made me sick when Palin belittled community organizers. By the way, community organizers do have actual responsibilities, sometimes more so than mayors, who spend alot of time glad-handing the public and delegating to their fawning underlings. The GOP comments about community organizers just show how TRULY elitist the GOP is, and how little they know about what community organizers do. But be of good cheer: Palin's poll numbers are dropping like a rock!

Many have chosen to dedicate themselves to causes greater than themselves -- and to communities poorer than their own. How can any candidate or party that hopes to lead America take such joy in putting down American institutions. Anyone who aspires to lead this country should be saluting them -- not sneering at them.

And I recall another community organizer from a little town of Bethlehem.

Their work epitomizes what it means to put community -- and, yes, country -- first.

Community organizers have been so important in America for over 200 years. I cannot comprehend how Palin and Guiliani could mock and attack such service. "At a convention whose theme was "service," GOP leaders ridiculed organizing, a vital kind of public service that involves leadership, tough decisions, and taking responsibility for the well-being of people often ignored by government."

This video is POWERFUL and sends a message that needs few words. I couldn't help thinking of Harriet Tubman and how she too was a community organizer. The republicans thought they were being skillful, but they actually shot themselves in the foot with mocking community organizers. Its what he's being saying all along and the repubs. don't get it, change happens from the bottom up, not the top down. This is what has propelled Obama to where he is today, education and community organizing.
