Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it. One last question, I am new at this so bear with me, where would I put the 5u4gb you suggested, I don't have a rectifer tube, the 6l6's are the last tubes in the chain. Does this hurt the sound drastically, I know my 78 is considered the less desirable Pro, hoping to come accross a blackface eventually.
Also, it has the original speakers, will changing them get me any closer to a SRV type sound? I have a Fender 62 RI Hot Rod Strat w/ Fender Custom Shop 60's pickups, they sound great but are a little bright, the Texas Specials were to bright, do the Fralin's make a big difference? Thanks.
@SRVFenderPro Not very much, but a little. Try lowering the pickups 3.6mm on bass side (low E) and 2.4mm on treble (high E) when you press the string down against the highest fret.
Hi Jensmo75, just a few quick questions if your don't mind, just bought my first older amp, a 78 Pro Reverb w/o, the rectifier tube, I love the clean sound, trying to get more breakup. I pulled the V1 and replaced the V6 with it, and disconnected one of speakers, will the tremolo mod make a big difference? When should I see breakup, I have the master cranked and volume at 2, still pretty clean, I have volume limits at night. Does not having a rect tube hurt? New at this stuff, any suggestions?
@SRVFenderPro The rectifier tube gives you more clean headroom than tube. For maximum breakup and sag go for the 5u4gb, and do a rebias of 6L6 tubes to 33-35mA. Anyone can do that if you buy a biasmeter. With all this you should achieve a decent sweet spot around 3-4 on the volume knob, with trem disconnect a little sooner, around 3.
Hi jensmo75... Very cool tone. Thanks for sharing.
Was wondering if you have the old or new Jensen on this clip? C12N to be exact. I have to say that your clip on the differences between the new and old C12N's is the best on that subject.

@musicmaniac434 Depends on your needs. It is somewhere between the Deluxe Reverb 1x12" and Super Reverb 4x12" in power and tonal character.
