the 495 was part of his lifting rountine developed by thestrength and conditioning coaches for him. he worked that day starting his warmups from 105 and ending at 500...
Sorry sgtski55, I thought the 500 set didn't count when one of them touched the weight, but I looked at it again, and it clearly was ALL him. Me, three months ago I benched 375, so I was 19. I turned 20 last August.
I agree; when I had two spotters give me a liftoff, repping 350, it threw me off balance, and that cost me the 3rd rep.. I don't like getting a liftoff from two spotters. And they helped him bench 500, but he did 495 with no touching of the weight, so 495 is his max
two spotters on each side is not the way to go!! if one man pulls the bar even a lil more than the other spotter it not only throws his balance of but he can tear his shoulders up
