actually, it's pretty amazing. The weather is great, though unpredictable. I luv the beaches. During the weekends there r so many places to go. Like: downtown, the beaches, seaport village, old town, or just even to the mall! I actually live in Eastlake which is located in east chula vista right above the border. Evec though it's pretty pricey where i live,about 600,000 for a 5 bedroom home, it's totally worth it!

This is such a tourist video... good but there's soooo much more to San Diego! Everyone should live there, at least for a while if possible! I was lucky enough to spend 20 fabulous years there! I only left cuz I wanted to live in a real house & that's near impossible in SD unless you have rich relatives or want to work 5 jobs!

I live in a great place now but my heart will always be in SD! (Keep in mind that it's a BIG city... lots of traffic & people!! That's cuz everyone wants to live there!)

I lived in San Diego most of my adult life and it is a beautiful city! The weather is the best in the US. It is a BIG city and has the negatives. Has gotten more so in the last 10 years. Very expensive but you get what you pay for. Better to visit than to live there.

I've lived in Ontario Canada all my life. I went to San Diego last year and I honestly fell in love with it. The place is beautiful, the people are nice as hell(I'm from Canada and people are pretty nice here). Anyone who calls San Diego their home is a lucky person in my books. And what the hell is wrong with Mexican people? They seem pretty nice to me and Mexican women gorgeous.

To all of u who said that SD is a bad place to visit and is too expensive to live in then you are completly wrong. It is one of the best places in the world to be in. I have lived here my entire life. It's not dirty, it's not as expensive as many of you make it seem. I've lived in a middle class area my whole life. San Diego is the best city in the world if you are rich enough to live in a good area. I was born and raised there in the 70s when a middle class family could afford to live in safety and kids could have a backyard. Now all the middle class areas are overrun by Iranian immigrants and the place is a shit hole. If you can afford to live in an exclusive area, its a great place, but if not, i dont care how nice the weather is, i wouldnt live there. Its now Mexifornia and kids arent as lucky as I was

SD is a shit hole?? I used to live there for 4 years... it's nowhere near as bad as LA! (and I was BORN in LA) I'd move back to SD in a heartbeat! Though I agree that it's expensive to live there depending where you're at.

Word of advice to people who plan on visiting SD: EXPECT to encounter a few gang members, homeless vagrants, gays, lesbians, and weird people here & there, just like you would in any other major US city! Don't let a few negative things ruin your experience in SD!

boy yes and vagrants ie dropouts too but there were a vast amount of them everywhere we turned. also the place is dirty, not a good impression for visitors we think. maybe we should have a san diegoan take us round next time or recommend places to go downtown. basically i didnt fancy having lunch on the terrace in the gaslamp area with vagrants walking past! most people agree with me and the actual area of san diego ie coastlines are the gems to visit it seems.

Coronado was awesome but the city of SD had a huge amount of dropouts on almost every corner and by the harbour and it seemed a dirty place, maybe we are spoilt in chicago!? whats so good about the city guys?

I grew up and lived in San Diego. I moved to Georgia almost 5 years ago. Long story. But I have been homesick this whole time. My fav. part is OB/Ocean Beach. I miss and love San Diego soooo very much. Now I'm even MORE homesick.

Yeah I'm in love with OB's overall culture, it's so unique. I went there in the evening for one of my mom's band gigs and these random people would come up to me and just start conversations for the sake of talking to someone. I loved it. I also noticed that, despite the crime level, the people that live there kind of act like one big family and help each other out like they would a brother or sister. I thought it was really cool. I should stop now because this comment is getting pretty long. =)

My boyfriend grew up in San Diego and I went over there for a week to visit, I fell in love with the city. The gangs and mexican population is a good bit but you just have to watch what area you go into. La Jolla Beach was my favorite spot, with Sunset Cliffs coming to a close second. I fell in love in this awesome city and will never forget my time there! Pacific Beach strip is fun to chill at, the whole city is very expensive to live in though.

Whoever ssid there were bloods and crips are nuts arent they? Haha. Ive never seen any here and i've been in the sketchy parts of san diego a lot. The only parts I don't like to go to is University (aveblvdstreetwhatever) but thats where most of the sketchiness is in the city in my opinion.

This was a trip home. I lived in San Diego for the first 42 years of my life before my husband's job required relocating to Indiana. I would not recommend Indiana, but San Diego is the best! Thanks for the trip home.

Hotel Del Coronado - a treat to see again! We have actually BEEN there. "Some Like It Hot" was partially filmed there, the beach scenes, etc. Wow.
