  • Useless-this shows the end result, but not how to actually hit down on the ball.

  • @mewzekman By trying to hit the tee you inadvertently change your swing slightly and come more down on the ball because you're so focused on carry the club through the ground.

  • lol

  • For all you young posters that say that your friends make fun of you for playing golf, just remember that one of the main social events for the business / medical / government world is golf. Connections can be developed in the professional world on the links and doors will open because of those connections. Who's going to be laughing when you have a better job years down the line?

  • What if we are not hitting into a net and we lose a tee every single shot

  • @HKgolfer132 then you can stop doing the drill because you are doing it right haha

  • Makes sense to me. I'm going to try it. The fairway is my worst problem. Thanks for the tip.

  • @freethoughtmusic Yeah, it's sad when I hit better shots out of the rough than the fairway. Embarrassing to have a great drive followed by a duff or shank.

  • I quit football to play golf year round excluding basketball season. Even though all my friends laugh and make fun of me, I still love the game. And the funniest part I think about is in 4 years when I hopefully get a scholar ship for golf, well then I will be laughing

  • @MrRagnello17 I dont know what school (HS/College) you are in, but if I could go back and redo high school, i'd be golf team every year, and be filthy now.

  • @CntrBrdr Yea I am in high school right now. Just finished my freshman year and I was playing varsity. Next year I will be playing almost every match.

  • very helpful thanks

  • this drill is epic. for a young golfer like me :D

  • This drill really helped my game out a lot. Thanks for the awesome info.

  • This is what Homer Kelley (The Golfing Machine) called "aiming point concept". You direct your HANDS (not the clubhead.....the clubhead will follow your hands) down AND THROUGH the aiming point (tee), while totally ignoring the golf ball. If executed properly the golf ball just gets in the way of the swing. The golfball is NOT the target. The Aiming point (tee) is the target!!! It helps to think of driving the tee INTO THE GROUND with your HANDS! Do NOT think of hitting the tee with the clubhead

  • 1 guy ran out of tee's

  • i love this drill, thanks

  • The ball loves it, she come back on the carpet every time lol

  • I think this is good drill. Thanks

  • During the swing. Does one have to think that your right or left side is actually hitting the ball. No instructor has ever talked about this. In tennis you are holding the racket in your right hand and is golf almost the same? If not, I then don't want to even think about playing this game. To me is like you handcuff yourself and play a game of right handed swing. Plz help clear this matter. Thnx.

  • yeah i really love golf now! I don't tell my friends though, most of them would laugh at me LOL

  • love it!!! I am always "topping the ball". This putting a tee 4 inches ahead and training yourself to make sure you hit BOTH should make sure that you are moving down at the point when you strike the ball. WILL TRY THIS. THANK YOU!!!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

  • This guy has a total blatant disregard for the Letter "L" in GOLF.

  • what a faggot

  • @tazzaks32

    Wow....that is not very nice!

  • @Golfrite Thx

  • When I try this I obviously change my weight the the left foot, but that causes that my clubface open abit, causing a pretty nasty slice. Any tip?

  • i literally take a tee and put it in front of the ball during games and practice

  • Hi Everyone:

I have gotten a few comments from people wondering about doing this drill indoors. This drill works indoors AND outdoors!!!!! Being able to hit down on the ball...making contact with the turf (grass or mat), in front of the ball is a key element to hitting quality golf shots. ALL good players do this....make sure you do as well!

    Thanks...skip

  • Please do NOT think about "lifting" the ball...not the right concept! Golf is a game of opposites...to get the ball UP in the air, one must hit DOWN on the back of the ball!

So, hit DOWN on the ball...take the tee out...and enjoy better ball flight!!!!!!

    Play well in your tournament...skip

  • i got a big tournament tomorrow and im having the problem of trying to lift the ball...im gonna get to the driving range in the morning and hopefully i can figure it out...THX

  • I was thinking too after seeing videos that the starting iron angle should not remain all the way when it comes to the back, it should be straightened to where the tee is in the video which is why I cannot hit irons properly like drivers!

  • Hi Everyone:

Keep it simple...understand that making contact with the turf AFTER contact with the ball is the essence of good iron play...this tee drill identifies this essential element!

Hope you all are having a great season....our students at The GolfRite Academy & Performance Center at International in Bolton, MA are doing great!!!! Email comments/thoughts to info@golfrite.com

    Thanks!...skip

  • how can u tell if u hit a good shot inside where theres a net 10 yards or so in front of u. i know its raining during the vid as well.

  • anyone try this ?

    how did it go ?

  • Finally I get it! THANK YOU!!!

  • Does the tee in front of the golf ball represent the low point o f swing, or rather where the club should bottom out so that the divot is in front of the ball?

  • when you do this, does your backswing still affect your contact and the ball height?

  • I'll try this today before I go to work.

  • Thanks - will give it a go.

  • Devine Intervention is ALWAYS helpful and appreciated!!!!

  • this is what i needed. god bless you

  • I've been playing avid golf for 2 1/2 years. I have aways had the swing thought to hit down but this drill really turned a key for me. Thanks!

  • You are more than welcome! Look for more as we begin our outdoor season in New England!

Thanks again for the kind remarks!

  • wow, thanks for that great tip. I will try it out tomorrow.

    Golfing greetings from Ireland.

  • is that roy orbison?

  • "Olly"....glad you liked it! More to come as we begin the outdoor season.

    Continue to have fun!...skip

  • Awsome vid that helps alot

  • I will be using this at the range TOMM.! Can't wait to try this one. Update coming soon...

  • great tip! its results are really outstanding!! may it cause some other problems like not staying behind the ball through impact or coming over the top? thank you very much

  • @danic18

Shouldn't cause any problems...continue to remain stable & braced thru the swing, as always. Do that, and you will be really striking the ball solidly!

    -skip

  • distance of tees doesn't have to be precise...it is the concept of hitting down and thru that will help your short game & iron play!

    Keep having fun!...skip

  • So how far should I place the tee compare to a different iron? Like 4 iron am I suppose to place the tee closer?

  • Thanks for the tips

    I finally compressing the ball.

  • I scoop more often than swing through when I do chipping.

  • great video

  • I don't like hitting off mats, but this drill makes a lot of sense.

  • good tip thanks now i understand

  • Glad this tip helped...my students have really benefitted from the drill as well!
