  • I'm 48 yrs old with spina bifada. i remember as a child when they tried teaching me to walk one step at a time..made me nuts ..the swing through gate is natural and a faster way to get around on crutches

  • @stompySharpNpointy Most definitely. Thanks for the comment!

  • I too am a nursing student who find this very very helpful, thank you so much!!!

  • I am a RN student and found this very helpful! It is often difficult to visualize when reading - so this was awesome and appreciated!

  • @MomRNifty Glad it was helpful. Thanks for the comment!

  • thanks, it was very helpful

  • @530BigBen You are welcome. (Thanks for commenting.)

  • You are handsome..........

  • @mzyuhaten4 Thanks for the compliment. :-D

  • thank you for posting this video. As an amputee I also use the swing-thru gait. But it must be much harder for you with your paralyzed legs. Tell me, are you able to walk steps and stairs?

  • @LAKwb Yes, I can do steps/stairs, but typically I need some sort of railing most of the time. It helps a great deal. I've been hoping to find a staircase somewhere that I can show how I do that, but no luck yet.

  • thank you so much for dedicating the time to make your videos. I have found them very helpful as I am new to adaptive yoga and look forward to working with a practitioner that I believe will be served by adaptive yoga. Looking forward to learning as much as I can! If you have any time I would love to pick your brain.

  • @YogaWithTanyaSiejhi Sure thing. Send me a message. =)

  • Excellent work. I have learned something new today. Keep up the good work and God bless you.

  • @Thelilliput1 Thanks!

  • Not to jude you or any thing but I think that it mite help if you would shorten your crutches so that your arms are not as bent, I use that gate and when I started out I was like that but I found that I was not using as much energy this way.

  • @othfanatic1 You are absolutely right. Someone else made this comment a while ago and I did shorten them after that. Thanks!

  • Thank you for your video :) You are amazing and your video/s are very helpful as I study for my nursing exam. I know there are a lot of people out there who appreciate your work and dedication to educating others. Take care =)

  • @aniabania21 Thanks for the comment. I'm so glad to hear that you found the video useful. =)

  • @sherbertlad =) Don't blame me if you do poorly on the test, though. :-p

  • @sherbertlad You are most welcome. Glad it was useful to you. =)

  • My friend and I are studying for a Gait exam, and your video was so helpful! You are awesome! :)

  • @clarkbethd2 Cool, glad I could be of some help! GL.

  • i used to walk like that until I had my scoliosis surgery...

  • Again, I am in agreement with everyone else and say that we enjoy these glimpses of your life. Also are you still in school or working?

  • Thanks for your new videos, especially for this one. It shows clearly the strength you need to walk like this. I wonder why your crutches are set up that high, but I'm sure you set them up the way it works best for you.

What distances are you able to walk on crutches?

  • Your strength and agility is quite amazing, and your videos have been very enlightening. Any chance of doing a slower demo of your swing thru? You are fast as lightning! Most people would have a hard time keeping up with you! An explanation of the mechanics of your braces would also be informative to your audience.

  • @swelguy I actually think the best way to do that might be to just slow down the video because a key part of the swing through is using the momentum in order to continue the next step. If I slow it down too much, the entire process falls apart. I will look into it, though. Thanks for the comment.

  • You really are to be admired I find the swing thru too stressfull on my shoulders to do much of it You have much more upper body strength than I do

  • @ij0511 Yes, definitely. It is the easiest/most efficient way for me to walk with my braces and crutches, but I understand that it is not that way for everyone. People need to do whatever works for them.

    Thanks for watching!

  • why is more thick your right shoe?

  • @protrudingears I explained it in a previous video. My right leg is a bit shorter than my left leg because of the curve in my spine and various operations over the years.

    Thanks for watching!

  • muy bien

  • Joseph, thank you, again. I can only echo the comments of pedroeras. Keep sending us glimpses of your life.

  • Thanks Joseph, for the show up and move your braces and crutches. Are already popular in Spain, this afternoon, we discussed with some friends about your quality as a person and how good you are displayed to everyone. We are delighted with their shows on youtube. Gets a hug and a warm greeting.

  • @pedroeras2003 Thank you. =)

  • Muy bien!

    Very god.
