@moutainlion85 - The Corvette is literally the ONE exception. The Challenger is a land yacht. The Camaro is a rolling blind spot that shreds like a tin can in an accident. For cripe's sake, the Mustang still has a solid-axle rear end. And that's just the performance car offerings. At least GM got smart and started selling some of their re-badged European market cars here, a la the Cruze, 2011 Regal, etc... Plus, where do you think American companies go test their best stuff? They go to Europe.
@DaedalusZero Testing on the Nurburgring in Europe (Germany), yes . That doesn't mean they get Europeans to do the testing or help for them. The N-ring is where almost ever big manufacturer goes to tune their cars, because it's the longest track in the world, with over 150 turns in it; but they're not using Europeans to do it themselves. Huge difference.
Mustang? Check out the new Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca video on YouTube. It beat the BMW M3 on Laguna Seca track. They're pushing now.
@Northax - I've seen the Boss 302. It's big, fat, domestic rice. It still rocks ancient technology and will get out-handled by my 21 year old, 100hp Miata. Cool story. You made no point with the Nurburgring comment either. This video is totally a big middle finger to all of those Europeans that allow us to borrow their race track to test our shit on. I never said they get European people to test the cars, so I dunno who's ass you pulled that from. You've got no ground to stand on.
@DaedalusZero Then why bring up American companies going to Europe to test their best stuff? They go for the track (N ring), not anything else. So you bringing it up was pointless and waste of time, so I thought only one other reason you'd bring it up: to try and imply they had help from Europeans on the car itself. Next time think before you post then; your fault, not mine. So the Mustang has ancient tech. yet beats BMW M3 on Laguna Seca track? Says a lot about BMW tech. then, huh?
@Northax - I think you should spend some time going back and getting a proper grade school education. The babble that is your thoughts is painful to read. Just because some Mustang with stickers and mad-tyte colour matched wheels was faster than an M3 on a particular day doesn't magically make it a better car. American vehicles, for the most part, are poorly built, gas guzzling piles of garbage. My mom has to call me every other week because something's gone wrong with her crappy Monte Carlo.
@DaedalusZero look up the gas mileage on a boss mustang and on a m3. Be surprised, the M3s gas mileage is lower than a 7L z06 corvette that has 505hp, and the ls7 has a better hp/weight ratio than a m3. The mustang will outlast your m3 by 5x as well as costing less to drive. Try racing a m3 in america and watch your life savings dwindle to cents.
@n9athan - Where in the course of my comments did I bad mouth the Corvette or it's engines? I wouldn't exactly claim a 5x longer life expectancy for any car vs another. That's a bit of a dream. As far as someone spending their life savings racing an M3, that can happen with literally any car out there, including a Mustang. Racing is costly any way you slice it. You can think what you want, but I personally wouldn't buy a Mustang or any American car for that matter. They have no appeal.
@DaedalusZero Corvette ZR1, Ford GT40, Shelby Cobra/AC Cobra, Hennessey Venom GT, Dodge Viper..Yeah you forgot a couple of cars that ripped Europeans a new butthole back in the day..Theres more exceptions than just the Corvette
@GOMEZ99Christian - You said Corvette twice. Vipers are overpriced, heavy penis substitutes that guzzle gas and can't go round a corner very well. The Hennessey Venom GT is based off a stretched Lotus Exige (a British car) and the Cobra was also based off of a little British car, the AC Ace. Nice try, though. Yes, the GT-40 kicked everyone's asses IN IT'S TIME PERIOD. I'm talking about right now, current day. Hop off of The Big Three's laps and accept that as a whole they just aren't that good.
@DaedalusZero I said Corvette twice? Where?? Hop of the big 3s lap? Thats why I only named what 3 cars from the big 3...The corvette, viper, and GT-40? No no, had i been like some people and named the GT500 or the Camaro SS i might have been on "their laps"..Current day..? I guess we can all take a GTR since its kicking everyones ass..
@GOMEZ99Christian - "Corvette ZR1, Ford GT40, Shelby Cobra/AC Cobra, Hennessey Venom GT, Dodge Viper..Yeah you forgot a couple of cars that ripped Europeans a new butthole back in the day..Theres more exceptions than just the Corvette" <----- You started with Corvette and ended with Corvette. I thought there were more exceptions, eh? GT-R? It may not be American, but that land yacht is no dream car of mine.
@DaedalusZero Did you just say a viper cant go around a corner well?? the ACR is the best handling production car in the world. It has a skidpad rating of 1.10 G'S. And ran a record time at the Nurburgrin ring at 7.22!! I love corvettes but give the viper its respect, it is one of the many great cars that america has made.. DONT HATE VIPERS!!! BECAUSE IF IT WAS NEVER MADE THERE WOULD PROBABLY BE NO ZR1 AND CORVETTES WOULD NOT BE AS GREAT
@DaedalusZero It's called cause and effect, you usually learn about it in 2nd-4th grade. If the viper didn't get better, they wouldn't have to improve the corvette to make it better than the viper.. If there was no competition we would be driving the same cars we were in the 70s-80s because there is no reason to waste RnD dollars if you don't need to.
@sk8erman15 - Dude, what the hell are you talking about? Cause and effect? All I said was that the Corvette is the only American sports car worth buying...
I hate posting comments on YouTube for this exact reason, yet I keep doing it....
@nickyshelbykr I agree. Competition helps everyone. Ford fans got a Mustang with a 400hp engine to compete with Camaro & Challenger. Chevy fans got the Z06 and then the ZR1 because of the Viper. With competition everyone wins. Now if GM will only produce the Z06X!!!
i guess its the people i know/met that have owned one and are usually assholes. but other than that, i guess the cars they supply just dont really appeal to me
Oh ok, I got it. Because there are people that get ripped off on some Ford or Chevy that wasn't even made by them and decide that they will never buy one again because of that. Well, yes, the American car companies have intentionally ripped people off countless times, but they have accomplished many feats and have survived for the most part (Chrysler)...so people shouldn't automatically rule them out. I've never made an investment on a new car and got ripped off so I wouldn't completely know.
@lokrat2 for one, idk why the hell u would care. second, i dont have a chevy or ford, wont ever have one, and will never even consider buying one. i prefer the cars i have right now =p
woow that car is soo beautiful. do u recon it would scratch if it went over a speed bump? gotta go over one soooo slowly.
