  • I like how all the comments on this video are to do with how the scene was improvised.

  • Amazing scene. Thanks for uploading. Just curious, though. Why's it so quiet?

  • boring scene

  • The little idiosyncrasies, it is what truly matters its what separates every human being, no ones perfect its whether you and ur partner are perfectly imperfect (the good stuff) for each other,

  • I got to see about a girl...

  • Great movie. But this should have been cut after the joke was completed--though the entire session is a good scene.

  • do you know this entire joke about the farting was not scripted?it was all made up on the scene.amazing.

  • @vadali93 You can see that both cameras were shaking. Rumor has it that the entire crew reacted as Matt Damon did and just lost it.

  • Can't wait for Good will hunting 2: hunting season

  • The cameraman laughs so much that the camera shakes

  • @ISt0leTheCookies A lot of people don't realize that Robin Williams ad libbed his lines in this scene. The cameraman wasn't expecting him to be so hilarious

  • Thank you God for the message

  • "I think that's a super philosophy Will, that way you can go through your entire life without ever having to know anybody..." Good line.

  • I will second those comments. Such a good film, its got comedy, drama, action and there are no errors in continuation or acting.

  • I love the lines in this scene the most :)

  • the best part about this scene is that matt damon is laughing for real on the wife-farting adlib part. LOVE IT!

  • well I think that's a super philosophy .. I mean that way you can actually go through the rest of your entire life without really knowing anybody..

  • The laughter part is the work of a genius. After probably 10-15 takes, no one can laugh at the same intensity after hearing something over and over again, its just not funny anymore. However, Matt Damon can for he is a real actor. So, thumbs up Matt!

  • @realitateatm Actually, that whole part about the 'farting wife' is all ad-libbed in one take by Robin Williams, so Matt Damon's laugh there is for real. It's also the reason why the camera is shaking up and down, because the camera man was laughing, too. :D But Matt Damon is still a real actor.

  • The best part about this movie is that Will helps Shawn as much as Shawn helps WIll.

    Good stuff.

  • 8 people forgot the coffee

  • @LDKBBAB no.

  • @RhinoSanderson hey man, about 10 times on this page people say how great the script was, it was a great script, but this is totally the wrong place to say that, it's like fans of this movie don't know shit about it, many of the scenes are improvised

  • @BRIANisALRIGHT Wrong but alright

  • this scene is almost entirely AD-LIBBED just so ya'll know, when damon cracks up at 2:10 the camera shakes a little because the camerman started laughing as well

  • One of the best movie scripts of all time!

    The dialogue is outstanding!

Robin Williams gives his "greatest" performance!

  • The great thing about this scene is that most of it is completely improvised. Sean's tangent about his wife farting in her sleep was entirely off-the cuff--Damon's laughter is actually him breaking character and you can even see the camera shaking from 1:50 to 2:15...the camera operator was cracking up.

  • @TheRachaelnotrachel I know amazing, right? i just read that

  • you can see the camera shaking as robin is improvising about his wife, the camera man is laughing, matt's laughter seems pretty authentic too

  • This whole scene was basically made up on the spot, and matt damon laughing in that high pitch is him breaking character. Whlch is why the camera bobs up and down because of the camera man laughing too.

  • GREAT scene! Marvelous. Robin Williams was perfect in this role.

  • this scene really reaches perfection...even the laughter is perfect, even if, hyronicaly, they are talking about imperfection. wonderfull movie

  • this movie is written by matt damon and ben afleck, those guys are the best :)

  • my favourite adult film, i have watched this so many times, reminds me of me, not the fact that Will is so inteligent, as i am obviously not but his mannerisms etc

  • MAtt DAMon!!!!!

  • @frogshine lmao thats what i have been saying nonstop for weeks now

  • This film is virtually perfect.

  • That farting story was actually ad-libbed by Williams. I love how they laugh so hard at it

  • @Streetweare

Yeah the little squeaks they let out while laughing are so realistic. You barely hear that in movies. Really drags you into the conversation.

  • @Streetweare note that when you see Matt Damon laughing, the camera is shaking because the camera guy was laughing as well

  • i have been laid..big time. matt damon is awesome.

  • he misses his wifes farts...

  • @Carlos1584 He misses his late wife's idiosyncrasies that made him love her... Robin Williams' character explained that in the movie...

  • @bingbang3 yeah, thanks.

  • 'The Good Stuff..."

  • This film is pure genius. Loved it.

  • at 1:53 it can be seen that the camera is shaking because the cameraman was laughing so hard as Williams ad libbed his dialogue :-)

  • at 1:53 it can be seen that the camera is slightly shaking because the cameraman was laughing so hard :-) as Williams ad libbed the scene

  • i liked this movie

  • - you ever think about getting remarried ?

    - my wife is dead.

  • This is the GREATEST dialog/explaination of relationships/intimacy ever!

Never heard anything from any other movie that rang so True!

  • Cupcake and Hackzor are right, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck did not write a good part of this scene. In Damon's interview with Oprah, he admitted NOT having written the "fart" part of the script and that Williams improvised the whole thing. That's why Damon almost lost himself laughing. It's amazing, though, that the two actors were able to weave themselves back into the dialogue.

  • Straight up one of the best movies of all time.

  • @MuscleBound46 ur right

  • time is up

  • your time should be up with moronic comments like those.

  • loved the movie but wasn't really convinced by this particular scene. it seemed a bit out of character with the rest of the movie. not the emotional content but Will's choice of dialogue.

  • Its actually because this part of the movie was not scripted, and he just winged the part about his wife farting. that explains the out of character laughing from Matt

  • this scene was add-libbed for the most part. especially his memory of his wife. thats why it seems off

  • the producer's are shattered with your outlook.

  • GOD THIS MOVIE CHANGES LIVES...enough procrastinating time to go finish my english paper

  • @seanUnknown011000101

but if you don't finish it,remember...its not your fault. :P

  • HORSESHIT! YOU'VE NEVER BEEN ON A PLANE!

    uh, yea...it was a joke...

    lol

  • This scene was improved, I hope you all know. At least the farting part. XD

  • wow...I never noticed that...the cameraman really fucked up on that, hehe cant blame him though it was pretty hiliarious.

  • @BloodyCape200

It kinda adds to the effect, I think.

  • lol!

  • lol

  • By the sounds of it, you're so negative that I reckon you shouldn't hold back...just go and go kill yourself!

  • ..AND this was improvised!!!!! no wonder matt is genuinely LingOL! wanted 2 c this scene again cuz i read in the trivia that u can c the camera shaking cuz d cameraman started laughing..! but i dint c the camera shaking. oh well..

  • are you serious? of course it shakes.

  • watched it again. oh yeah it does. i ws probably sleepy or spaced out or smthing. thx 4 pointing out.

  • when does it shake?

  • yeah it happens around 1:53

  • My all time favourite film, every scene is full of insights and is beautifully written. Fucking amazing film.

  • LOL at 2:10-2:12

  • "Time's up"

  • Fart jokes don't get old with a master like Robin Williams!

  • big time lol

  • People.

  • EXACTLY ;)

  • wher the hell is the whol movie

  • At Blockbuster, on a DVD.

  • Did you know the fart jokes part was all ad lib? Matt Damon is really cracking up here and you can see the camera shake slightly from the cameraman laughing too.

  • lol thats brilliant.

  • This scene confirms Robin Williams' comic genius....its funny how he is known as a comedian but he won the Oscar for playing a serious character. Maybe it was line he was given, maybe it is the character, maybe Robin Williams is just too good, maybe its all three :)

  • he wasnt given the fat line, that was ad libbed.

  • This is such a great scene!

  • big time

  • When Robin says "...and then we get to choose who we let into our weird little worlds" memories of Bob Ross come to mind.

  • now this happy bush with be our little secret.

  • I don't understand how some people tend to trash this movie and Matt Damon's acting. In my opinion, this is one of the finest two person dialogue scenes in film. The acting is fucking phenomenal, and Damon and Williams' chemistry is perfect together.

  • 2:35 starts one of my favorite quotes of all time. And by the way, the audio preview is genius! Only if my phone can have a breathalyzer then i'll be completely safeguarded.

  • Around 3:54, when matt told him the super philosophy, he said "times up" to cut off matt. He sounded so stressed.

  • you can never love another woman like that ever again. My wife is dead, and so am I, my body just keeps living

  • I love this movie so much so perfect

  • Probably the funniest ad-lib in the history of film.

  • the camra man has every right to laugh farts are funny even a whoppy cushin is funny

  • reminds me of herma haha

  • one night it was so loud it woke the dog up XD

  • Every scene in this movie is so good that it's almost to perfect.

  • 100% agree

  • @Asesino300 you're right .. Perfection !

  • @Asesino300

It is perfect because what does he say about perfect... the blemishes; reflect that upon the 'almost'~

  • the writing in this film is amazing...

  • @wpulgarin

I know this is 2 years late and you probably know it by now, but just to make sure: Most of the lines in this movie are improvised, which means that these guys have mad skills. It sounds alot more natural that way.

  • @SaintBroken It's not. If it was mostly improvised there is no way it would of been nominated for an academy award for the screenplay.

  • like's when Will finds his weak spot, and he say's "times up"

  • capistrano songgg <3

  • oh man, i love that song.

thats why i favorited this video :)

  • yay ^_^

    they're amazing live

  • this girls like fucking perfect right now, i dont want to ruin that..."maybe your perfect right now and you dont want to ruin that"

  • I love how he says "I have been laid you know." That's so sweet. Like Sean would care about that anyway.

  • Adorable. I'll lay him.

  • the end of "fart joke" was changed to "woke the dog up" from "so you lit a match. is that how she died?"

  • the camera man was laghing too at 02:04 !!

  • yeah lots of this scene was improv

    like the farts story

    amazing scene

  • "People call those imperfections, but no, that's the good stuff."

  • Hey hun, don't forget the coffee!

  • doesnt want to ruin the image of perfection of skylar....DIRECTLY COMPARABLE to Jane Gallagher from the Catcher in the Rye

  • not fired... just retake the scene.. or edit audio

  • But he wasn't fired, and the movie was a hit.

  • So the stewardess goes runnin' up towards the cock-pit to tell him the mike's still on, and

this guy in the back of the plane goes

    "don't forget the coffee!"

  • It was a good joke.

  • thanks for the closed-captioning

  • Not at all :)

  • Good quote. Did you write that yourself?

  • its true u moron!

  • Robin Williams improvised the whole story about his wife's fartinghabits. That's why Matt Damon is laughing so hard and that the camera shakes. No big deal really. I never noticed until I read it on Internet.

  • i think it sorta ends up working for the scene because the camera matches the mood of the charecters ...sorta i dunno

  • parole sante. gran film.

  • Fucking masterpiece. The entire film.

  • The line at the end, which goes something like "Son of a bitch stole my line" was ad-libbed by Robin Williams too.

  • The unexplained laughter is the camera mans look on wikipedia bitch!

  • great movie!

  • Great conversation between those two guys.

  • It means it was made up on the spot.

  • what does "ad-libbed" mean??

  • For those of you who don't know, this scene (I think the fart part) is ad-libbed by Robin Williams. Watch the camera as it shakes LOL. It shakes because the camera man is laughing at Williams' part too.

  • Cool scene.
