I was at a renaissance festival, and they had a medieval style tournament, and when the knight defeated the dark lord, they played an orchestrated version of this song when it ended. I was the only one who recognized it.

This music is perhaps the most inspiring of all of the Final Fantasy compositions done by Nobuo Uematsue. I've been playing Final Fantasy since I was just a young boy of three, and believe me when I say this song still makes me cry with pride and admiration. AbsoluteZero255, I agree with you most heartily: this song IS, Final Fantasy!

Just started playing Final Fantasy I for the first time - just exploring Corneria City and buying stuff for my party (and talking to the king ofcourse - my first quest!) The graphics may be outdated and from before my time, but it doesn't diminish ANYTHING. It still has that classic Final Fantasy feel to it.

And the music's awesome, like always.

The problem with newer final fantasy games is that it is lacking the resemblence to the older games that lead to the creation of them. The series has changed so much from then to what it is now. When I look at a newer Final Fantasy game, this theme doesn't fit anywhere, where as in the older ones it fits perfectly. If only Square Enix would return to its roots.
