i think there is no pre-recording , because there one little misstake in the second chorus. this is just Jons voice, if u say it is pre-recorded, they have had pre-recorded every track and every word jon talks^^.

have u ever tried to sing as high as it goes in the chorus?, i think not, because then u would know that it's very difficult to sing the right notes , to do a cool stage-performance and to be louder as the backgroundsingers

This was 1995! Yeah richie is a good singer aswell, Jon and richie have totally different sing voices, combine them and yeah richie sounds higher. But you really have to listen to Always from Wembley 1995 These Days Tour to really understand that Jon is a Extreamly good singer. Back in the day Rockband-singers could sing live, Jon is one of the few that could do that. Look today and many band are just studio messed up, and they have to pay alot for that when they suck performing live.

It's Richie and David Bryan (pianist) who do the high part of the chorus, because Jon can't hit the notes anymore because he did year long tours and stuff.

Both of their bassists have contributed backing lyrics too, but the main singing trio are jon, richie and david i believe.

And yes, Richie's range extends further than Jon's, now anyway, probably always has.
