  • is there a cover for this?

  • Awsome!

  • Thank you for posting all the tracks - bass, drums, synth, guitar and vocals - excellent work - keep it up!

  • The oX baby

  • Awesome, my band is learning this. Big help!

  • yea fully shit myself dude

  • say what you will about the" Kenny Jones era" but John had some great bass lines on the face dances and its hard album

  • how did you do this? are you a wizard?

  • how did you do this? are you a wizard?

  • Absolutely amazing bass-playing ability. I only dream to play at this level.

  • I was listening to this through my headphones and once it got to the coruse my headphones started to crakel soo bad it almost fried it :p aha but this is probably one of the best base lines ever !

  • @Brandonw1996

The spellings of those words are "chorus," "crackle," and "bass."

  • Sex for the Ears.

  • It definitely sounds like something he'd play live. Entwistle, in comparison to live playing, was tame in the studio. Then again, knowing the Ox, I can only fathom how he'd play this live.

  • @WeCamefortheDead Most players back off in the studio in order to get a good mix that will be listenable - Entwistle was no exception. He played this song live with lines similar to those on the studio version.

  • I feel like I just got a lap dance from a nice bass guitar...

  • On this album, the only good thing is this track, and even more so the isolated bass aspect of it.

  • Favourite bass line ever. I can die happy if tabs ever show up on the Internet.

  • @chicken11999933 ill work on that during the summer :D

  • This is the most fun bass track on any Rock Band track, no exceptions. Entwistle is a hell of a player, and every bass player should sit down and listen to this to get and idea of HOW IT IS DONE.

  • Unbelievable bass line. Another fantastic reason to listen to this song again. Sad to know it's the 97 remaster. Wonder what the difference is?

  • john did actually play on an alembic.

    'just sayin'

  • The begining may be boring, but those chords are fantastic! Very evil!!!

  • yes!!

  • wowzers. smell like poo on my butt

  • This is one of my most favorite basslines of his.

  • I'm going to convince my bassist to learn this thing right freaking now.

  • This is just

    :|͇̿ ͇̿ ͇̿|

    *Massive jaw drop*

Brb, going to china to get my jaw back

  • 'one Entwistle gets into his own thing you'll shit yourself. I promise'.

My friend, that is an understatement.

  • wow thanks :D

debating over if there were two basses in toe song or not

my evidence: if you listen to the song you can hear another bass in the background playing the same booring two notes over and over again

  • @WSD1993 there is two bass tracks. one very simple and the other was the lead. its possible john played an 8-string but i believe he just had some effects going

  • Who knew this was hidden the track? Wow!!

  • You should check live versions of this tune- The Ox absolutely smokes it- way more than the studio version, which was always the case. Plus Pete does some great soloing on the live versions- check for Seattle or Toronto '82.

  • this is the owns

  • why are all of his bass parts so low in the mix? He is seriously the best bassists ever, why is he near-hidden?

  • This is such a great bass part.

  • Entwistle had such a unique sound. Pity he is gone. Went out like a true rock star, though.....

  • I wish he wasn't dead :(

  • Man, the bass in "Eminence Front" is the reason I listen to that song so much. I fucking LOVE it! Good choice. =D

  • If you turn it up at about 1:52 you can hear someone saying 2, 3, 4.

  • Bad boy bass by Entwistle. He got the funk!

  • I love his playing anyway, but it is so cool to hear him isolated and catch everything he is doing!

  • This is awesome!!!! Thanks a lot for posting this. 5 frigging starts

I'm pretty sure its not the original bass track of the final studio version (different chops and Ox-isms) but DUDE, how cool is this????

Thanks again. I'm picking up my bass right now!

  • This is the final studio release of Eminence Front, from their second last album, It's Hard (Endless Wire is their most recent). This is not, however, the single version.

I've also found that these tracks have helped me learn various Who riffs on my guitar. I'm really exited about how helpful these tracks have been to people. Glad you're enjoying it!

  • @testaferro actually, this is the re-issued album version from 1997. i have the orginal vinyl and the bass line is not the same.

  • F*cking sweet! My all time favorite bass part, in both versions!

  • The Ox really tears it up on this one!
