Eddy is an idiot. Most major cities around the world's buildings are far closer than they are on the Gold Coast. Manhattan for example, there's basically no gaps between buildings, but does that matter? No.
Tourism is the Gold Coast's major industry, if they stopped development of skyscrapers, it would just be like any other coastal town. This is why people come to the Gold Coast. To say no to development is very counterproductive.
