I've had several of these bikes. They have idle problems because the carbs need to be sinchronised more often than similar bikes. A minor annoyance with otherwise solid bikes.
Why did you put that HUUUUGE plexi-windscreen on the bike? It ruins this beautiful XS :(
I have some trouble with my engine, the idle speed goes up and down all the time. Sometimes the idle speed is way to high, and sometimes the engine just dies...
Your problem sounds like a 'valse lucht' problem to me. Which is dutch...
You should check the seals between the carburators and the cilinderhead, the might well be leaking. Changing them, or using a little bit of liquid joint (?) might well solve your problem. Good luck.
Oh, you can also check this without removing the carbs first, by spraying some fuel on the seals under the carburator. If this influences the running speed, they are probably leaking.
Ik denk niet dat er een "valse lucht"problem is :), maar zou het kunnen dat de luchtvijzen iets te rijk openstaan? Er zitten .144 sproeiers in de carbs (redelijk groot) en ik heb beide luchtvijzen 2,5 toeren uitgedraaid...
Nuja, als ik nog eens ga rijen, zal ik wel een tournavis meedoen om wat bij te proberen regelen.
Are the spares for this bike available on eBay ... I wanted the timing chain for it so, would be great if you'd let me know if we can find'em !!!
