  • Would like to build one for myself. if you would please send me the plans and parts list. Snbailey05@yahoo.com

  • I really wouldn't get THAT close to cut off there arms... would you?

  • Wow!

  • name of the song?

    awesome vid

  • For HHO electrolyzer plates you can't beat SS switchplates. $1.70 in Home Depot

  • Ok so where do we get the plans?

  • dear Santa

  • Awesome....I would love to get the details to make my own. Can you help me out?

  • verry nice of you to share this with people, I guess it is .. hh2 ? or something base on that..? I'm verry interested, i need to build one for an bigger project, i need something good to handle diiferent shapes of metals for an engine, can you help me with some theory ?

  • what kind of gas does it eat and what is deliv method?

  • cut off their limbs

  • what's with all the capacitors and precise windings of coils?

a plasma cutter just blows air on an arc why cant you just use an air compressor and a ZVS driver for the arc?

  • Buddy I was super interested in the subject, I'm like an apprentice, and it interests me very much!

  • Song is Toby Mac - Burn For You. And this plasma cutter is so sexy! I want to build an CNC laser cutter... but im afraid of it not working as I wish.

  • why do people always ask what the song is...it's freaking listed under the video..stop wasting space with stupid questions

  • Homemade?? That looks like the same exact plasma cutter that you can buy from Harbor freight. See the blue thing on the right of the screen?

  • You know if a person can make a homemade laser or plasma cutter strong enough to cut through steel, then the military and intelligence communities have portable laser and plasma weapons. Remeber whatever you see on tv or read about, the military is 25 to 50 years ahead of it.

  • @bdkalltheway like the stealth only went public bout 50 years in service

  • Lotostechnology sells a great plasma cutter!

  • Homemade and ready to dismember some necromorphs!!!!

  • What music it is? nice plasma ;D but i do preffer CO2!

  • This is great and all, but how is this going to help me kill necromorphs?

  • Aim for the limbs! You gotta cut 'em apart!

  • Thumbs up if you thought this was a plasma cutter from dead space.

  • @dexter18158 me two i was aww ffs

  • @dexter18158 who didn't?

    rofl

  • try cutting 2''

  • Where's instructions, parts list and schematics for it?

  • @WizardOfChicamunga Most the scematics were on the video. learn how to do electronics, then do the math your self. I could build this maybe for even less but he did a great job. i would add a breaker to this scematic, and some more protection so you don't shock your self.

  • 10 Necromorphs dislike this video

  • Wait so it is not isolated from the mains?

  • well at lest you will be safe against a necromorph attack :P

  • 2 much plasma will kill you

  • @megasony3 me too

  • any one click on this cause that thought it was dead space plasma cutter?

  • @MegaSony3 ya i did i saw some other dead space thing and i saw this....

  • why people always have to nag about something? they guy told u how to build it if ur worried about getting killed DONT TOUCH THE TIP OF THE GUN AND THE NEGATIVE CONNECTION. thats it people stop being a chicken work safe wear the right gloves u will be fine. or another idea WATCH SOMETHING ELSE!!!

  • nice ! im in .

  • good man for choosing toby mac for the theme music!

  • watch Full Length. Film On boredvip .co.uk

  • This is a death machine. Rectified 220 VAC = about 311 volts DC. You know what happens when you touch a hot wire? It buzzes up your arm and you pull back. If you hit high voltage DC, you'll never feel it, you'll just fall over dead. This thing is not isolated from ground at all - you might even arc thru your boots to the rebar in the floor. Again, your survivors or the medical examiner will be able to see this, you never will.

  • @tomintx have you ever actually touched a DC source before? i managed to (stupidly) do that with a 2.1kV capacitor bank (yes there's a difference between his welder and my bank but thats not the point im making) and I felt that for sure. Volts cant kill they just determine how fast the current will kill you. Its the high current that will kill. With 15 amp fuses it will deliver a force 300 times more than what is required to kill a person. Anyway same result if he touches it -> Dead person

  • why not buying a brand new plasma cutter with full warranty from uwelding dot com for 369 dollars.

  • this will be a lightsaber

  • This mess of shit is the picture you see when you look up "dangerous", "dead", or "electrocution" in the dictionary. No isolation from the A.C. line = DEAD

  • @ Xu53r1X, A plasma cutter sends a high amonut of gas, usually compressed air , through a very small channel to a negatively charged electrode. When you apply power to the negative electrode, and you touch the tip of the nozzle to the metal, the connection creates a circuit. A powerful spark is generated between the electrode and the metal. This reaction creates a stream of directed plasma, approximately 30,000 F and moving at 20,000 feet per second , that reduces metal to molten slag.

  • please some one explain how much thrust that is generating and what gasses are used in a plasma cutter

  • What if already tried building this one and i lost a finger?!?!?!... you should put your information of "only try this if you know what you'r doing" in the beggining of the video!!!

  • man that is some cool stuff......i would try to build one with very adequate instructions and a solid material list.

  • does anyone here own a chicago electric plasma cutter #97994.

    I see a used one for $80

What should I look for in trying it out?

Is it a decent cutter for 3/16 and thinner material, occassional use?

  • @ICUC007

aint the best thing out their its a pretty cheap one duty cycle aint that great and it cant cut thick metal but if your cutting thin stuff every now and then on weekends i would get it cus itle do the job 80 bucks aint bad it really isnt worth more than 100 even tho it costs a shit load dont buy it new

  • does anyone here own a harbor freight chicago electric plasma cutter # 97994?

I see a used one for $80. what should I look for to check it out?

Label says it cuts 6g steel.

it says 19A, and also says output: 5-13 A.

I would probably cut less than 3/16 material. only for occassional projects.

    Appreciate any user experience, opinions

    Thanks

  • DAMN NATURE U SCARY

  • The inductor and caps level the ripple (AC residue), the inductor also protects the diodes from the current spikes from the charge of the large cap. The resistor limits the overall output current to around 20A (I imagine 12 Ohm is with the resistor "hot" otherwise the current will be lower after some cuts). Why swap L and R should make it work better? BTW How do you start the arc? What is the value of L? thx

  • Hey, I have a Inverter tig/stick welder, 125A 25v rated output. I was thinking of using it instead of the toroidal setup you have. Then I should be able to reduce the costs down a bit seeming I already have the welder. I also have an 160psi air compressor to supply the jet. Just the capacitors, water resistor and hand gun would be required unless I am missing something?

  • Wow that is cool could you post a picture of the schematic somewhere

  • Is this really rectifying 240vac right off the batt? Isnt that INCREDIBLY DEADLY?? Seems like a much higher voltage than a commercial unit (safer?) would use...

  • @jdchmiel It is indeed, commercial unit use an isolation transformer, as any welder do, so you can touch ONE of the wires without danger (because the output circuit is isolated from ground&you). Touching both wires can still be dangerous without proper gloves. The transformer is heavy and "pricey" of coarse

  • @marcheseDS Isnt a commercial unit a lot less than 240v rectified into (240*1.414= 340v)DC?

Seems like commercial 100v 40-60 amps, isolated from any other metal object beside workpiece and torch output is a bit safer than 340v which can kill you from torch or work piece to any other current path.. Great Idea, but maybe you should come up with a design that uses a few microwave or other easily available large transformers rewound and in parallel to get the required output..

  • @jdchmiel I agree that isolation from the grid makes a lot safer tool, but the lower voltage is only a practical feature to keep higher current but not really safer to me, still to high to consider it safe (but necessary for the application or the industry would keep the lower voltages of the welders instead of designing new machines). I would use two face-to-face "buzzboxes" as an isolation, better with the second one set on 110V if possible, maybe even cheaper than a new transformer.

  • show us how to build it i would like to make one

  • Hi

Have you posted the Schems for dload somewhere. Or can I request them from you?

    Thanks.

  • what is that thing (in schematics) on the left bottum , conected to 24 vac rellay other end has "ground" symbol? Must be air valve?

  • yeah! i already killed some too the last i add add heat sink with active cooling (cooling fan). now im working on mosfet pwm current controller using the irf 450 power fet for current contolling purposes, with the water resistor you are using all uncontrolled output. is not very good when you will cut thin metals, beyond of 3/16 very clean cuts, i know that i have to blow some fets before this works correctly. i will get you the details when it works correctly, thanks!

  • ACTUALLY. im build one, but the mine will use an isolation transformer and auto start circuit. because i want to use it in my 4x4 cnc table. im getting the parts. when i get all parts i will post a video step by step. im planning build +70 amp. unit. i get a good deal in ebay for 3 unit 400v 6800mf. monsters capacitors. and an 6kvw isolation transformer is heavy like train!. anyway i want to share the entire posses with you all youtubers!!!!!

  • @vambreace

just be carefull about what you use for the starter arc.

I killed a couple rectifiers because I hooked it up back wards

HV+ goes to the electrode in the torch

  • Rule #1 of YouTube; name any song you use in the video or half your comments will be idiots who don't know how to Google lyrics.

  • what's the song from this video?????????????

  • @pdmber TOBY MAC - BURN FOR YOU

  • @doctorlocksmith Thanks man, nice song!

  • I've tried plasma cutters,... they are a awsome,.. but I'd a dream come tru to build one,... wow,.... any further info on the blueprints?

  • a little more information and less stupid music would be nice

  • @callmenort this song is pretty good

  • Toby Mac!

  • id really like to see the instructions on how to make one of these as well!

  • instructions and parts list please!!!!

  • Wow, I would like to build my own plasma cutter. Can you give me some places to start?

  • Just when I think I'm a smart person, someone like this comes along and humbles me. Good job man. That does just as well as my powermax380, and maybe even better.

  • wow this is fantastic!!!!!! i would love to learn more about your home made unit....i would like to make my own if i get the schematics of this......but great vid and awsome make!!!................whats the name of this song??

  • I would love to see a schematic and plans. That would save my wallet and really help me in my shop, it;s hard times man..lol

  • great song!

  • love tobymac!

  • gimmie directions/parts list and schematics plz....

  • i`m interested in :)

    some help?

  • Looks great... I'm dying to give it a try, but can't really make out the schematic very well. Do you have a link or way of getting me a copy?

    Thanks in advance.

  • whats the name of this song?!

  • @AxelTiger

    Singer: Toby Mac

    Song : Burn For You

(yes... very cool song... heard it first here too!)

  • @AxelTiger Burn for You by Tobymac, possibly the best artist in the world

  • I am glad we still have what it takes. When all the paths get cut and we need people with ingenuity and knowledge, we will save the American way. We do these things because we can, not because they are sold.

  • I got some good advice for everyone here. "GO BUY YOU A CHEAP BUT GOOD PLASMA CUTTER OFF FROM EBAY"

  • i wanna build one but im scary that ill build my suicide machine :D

  • Comment removed

  • i wanna make one it would be cool but even if i had all the parts i would not make one beacuase i im scared to kill my self i mean it looks cool but to dangerous for me XD

  • @powderGAMEER me too

  • @powderGAMEER A wise point of view :) Without a transformer on the input it is working with live 240V wires, it requires gloves (and long sleeves) and a lot of caution when turned on. If you don't have a 1to1 transformer you can use 2 "buzzboxes" front to front instead and play safe.

  • @powderGAMEER thats what i worry about with those homemade welders ahha

  • This is about a plasma cutter, who gives a rats ass about the stupid annoying so called song

  • this is "burn for you" by toby mac

  • thanks ibanez0r420. I'm looking at a catalog right now thats showing a Hobart Airforce 400 (max cut in mild steel only 5/16") for $1,555 !!! A device that can cut 1/2' steel for $300 looks pretty attractive.(if you have or know someone that has theskills to keep from geting fried.)

  • th schematic at the end says 240 V AC

  • what voltage is it running on?

  • what song is this? its really good

  • Yeah great song and kool cutter

  • what song is this

  • Great Job WELL DONE... Yeah Tesla heard the same bullshit when he went public as well.... Fuck these assholes with no vision nor talent.

AT LEAST IT WAS MADE IN AMERICA BY AN AMERICAN

  • How do you know he is American? Ford, GM and Chrysler cars and they are cheap in quality compared to imports. It is funny too when I read people critisized Toyota's/Honda's quality has gone down......of course they have because most of them now are made in America.

  • eat shit America hater

  • song info?

  • burn for you - tobymac

  • So word on the street is that this thing is a death trap.....

  • post more vids

  • great job.

How long to cut through 1/2" steel?

  • so, it think now the universe has lightsabers!! :P

    nice work, man!

  • Way nice. I'd like to get schematics and plans!

  • i as well would like some more vid, of the plans so i can build my own... great job

  • LOL they needed that thing in the first movie of saw^^

  • OK, this looks nice... and ok..

I have an idea... And i hope i'll have the time to truy it.

My idea... Use a MIG Welder and mode it just to make a plasma cutter....

The reason is that i have two old mig's laying around. and one has a bad wire druver,,, so i could use it... i would just need to buy a p. cutter gun and install an air compresor with a valve... and it would be safer... i mean. adding a fiew cups to the output will do the job...

  • cool

  • WOW! Good job. BTW love the song

  • I'm up for more vids too! Seems like a lot of Boilermakers here, so hello from Birmingham Local 108.

  • uno mas claro por favor

  • me podes mandar el circuito y los planos. gracias.

  • Yes I'm interested in more from you!!!

  • Interest, that is an understatement!!!

Yea buddy!, I for one am seriously interested. Would love to see details of circuits and associated hardware to build this unit. Would like to surprise my dad; who is a retired Boilermaker.

  • Heh yeah I'm thinking the same thing, but my dad's not retired yet.

  • more vids please

  • nem kaksi ez

  • what is this song?

  • Who did this song?

  • buy one for 100 euros D:

  • This design can kill you! It is non-isolated which means if you touch the metal while the ground is connected you will be shocked. A cheap way to fix this is to take an old stick welder and rewind the transformer 1:1 and put that at the input before the diodes. This will isolate the cutter making it safe to use.

  • My Pest Control guy was at my house today and saw my 240V home-made powder coat oven. We got to talking... He told me about your video so here I am checking it out.

Very good choice in song. Definitely sets the mood.

I would love to get more information from you on building a plasma cutter. My Pest Control guy would too.

    What's your background?

Are you posting to any forums? Do you plan on creating more informative vids?

  • Interesting video. But, how can a guy who can build this not be able to spell "wear" correctly? LOL

  • well its been my experiance that only dum asses can spell correctly or point out poinless spelling mistakes the english launguage is based on memory not rules

ph gh silent h what the fuck fucken druken tranfestites established this language, lol, lol, lol HA HA

  • your theory on literature sucks....and so does your spelling!

  • The reason there is an English book is to teach dip shits like you. How does the language not work, almost every other country is teaching the language, and yes fuck America, fuck the only country that keeps every other country from blowing the world to pieces. If you need me to break down any of these words so you can understand them just let me know!

  • That's really sweet! Thanks for the tutorial. Do you suppose a plasma cutter torch head could be modified for spray welding?

  • Im sure you could modify a tig tip from it. Its just a matter of building it and having the required tools.

  • how much power does that thing consumes?

    more then 3600 Watt?

    pls reply

    thx :)

  • What ever amount I want. If I need to cut thicker metal I raise the current. The torch head I have is rated for 40 amp plasma cutting so that would be something like 8800 watts at max.
