  • ...Too much Woo-Woo...on both sides..

  • Double Facepalm!

  • wow....fun watching it......of the hundreds videos of deepak i havent seen him this aggressive....guess he hasnt done away with his ego completely......i addooooorrrrrrre him stilll.....<3

  • This is great entertainment.

  • "In the absence of a conscious entity… The moon remains a radically, ambiguous and ceaselessly flowing quantum soup" - Deepak Chopra

  • The reality all religion is wrong far easier to be all wrong FOR as of this moment the Zionist controllers of the squabbling masses plan a 6.5 billion reduction with WW3 a nuclear war I have been back since 1944 reborn a baby My identity recorded in the great pyramid The measure of the earth yet in 30 years I have been scorned at suffered assassination attempts All are like chickens squabbling while the farmer is sharpening HIS axe in plain sight outside a flimsy ego driven wire fence of dogma

  • It matters not what religion one subscribes to All deny that it is possible, that Jesus is back and not one church will admit it is possible he could be back God said he was coming back yet all deny he could be BE back and fulfils all prophecy of the Christian and Muslim idea of Jesus 1) must be the most royal man 2) he must be genetic key of the House of David 3) reveal all things and he is doing that. Brian Leonard Golightly Marshall is his new name Rev 19:12 deny that?

  • why can't believers with hold conclusions on god/gods until evidence exists! why is that so wrong?

  • @heathsawyer People will rather believe a wrong answer than have no answer at all

  • I really want to punch Deepak Chopra.

  • Chopra just says anything. He shouldn't be up there with these scientists

  • Sam Harris is beyond sharp!

  • i love this debate it shows deepak for what he is lol and its funny

  • "Saying it louder and relentlessly is not going to make it true."

  • @Regemiteable Agreed.

  • Why does Deepak scream so much?

  • @cruzonsax Because he's a butthurt fraud.

  • At first I was annoyed that this is edited. But when I realized it was just Gene they cut out I became quite happy.

  • For every Deepak we need 10 Sams.

  • My Mom would say that Shermer is the kind of guy who, when asked what time it is, gives a history of watch-making instead.

  • ˝ ... or she˝ Lif of Brian anyone xD

  • I came here in search of comedy and I wasn't disjointedness :)

  • Sam and Mike are wasting their time on these 2 frauds. But at least we get to see them, yay!

Life would be boring if the planet only consisted of rational people with finely calibrated BS-detectors. But dont let the superstitious mob take control of politics though or we're fucked.

May the noodly presence of Mike and Sam grace you

  • They chide Deepak for acting like a physicist and failing. Shermer also fails in his attempts to explain political and sociological phenomena

  • Deepak started talking, i tought "Ooohhh, dear. We are in trouble".

  • @me25422 @rakshithrao why is everyone against chopra? dont you get it consciousness is not a product of the brain? i guess we got a few phylosophical zombies here! hahaha

  • his response to chopra was right on.

  • Deepak Chopra : Thank you for leaving India and spreading your quackery in the USA. We can do with one less quack here.

    Sincerely,

    The people of India

  • good for sam for telling that curry muncher to dial it down, this shits me I've met so many indians that speak like this, so loud and relentless. That's why I hate going to indian doctors, most don't listen, they just bark at you. Learn some damn etiquette.

  • The woman's total contribution to the debate thus far... when Sam Harris uses the male pronoun in an example, she yells out "OR SHE!" Because as we know, PC-naziism trumps brevity every time. (I bet if Harris had used the female pronoun instead her lips would've remained sealed rather than yelling out "OR HE!") Although to be fair its hard getting a word in edge-wise when Chopra's on a roll.

  • @jq747 This video has been edited- probably for time reasons, or something like that. I'm pretty sure she has spoken already at this point in the debate. Also, it seemed that the mediator said the "or she" comment, not her, based on the voice and his reaction after harris replied(not that this is important or telling at all).

  • Everyone on the stage except Harris and Shermer are fucking assholes

  • The audience is clapping every time Deepak starts woo wooing. Harris: "saying it louder and relentlessly is not going to make it true."

  • 8:50"In the absence of a conscious entity, the moon remains a radically ambiguous and

ceaslessly flowing quantum soup." Deepak Chopra

    woo-woo / coo-koo

  • @skeptical1001 lmao I'm pretty sure I read this in an article of The Scientist!

  • I like when Chopra tries to school Sam on how the brain works.

  • In debates when someone uses humour alongside their answer it's fine.

When they replace their response or impose on someone else's answer, it's a sign of a weak debater, a weak argument or both. I see Chopra do this incessantly.

  • Deepak Chopra is another embarrassment to India. He should keep to scientifically ignorant masses.

  • Chopra is brave. Well,,,,, they hang them, burn them, hide them. But even now and then they get message out. I recomend you all to take a look inside.

To be a messiah is not the best job in the world. You will be killed........

  • @SilvaUltraMindESP As many begin to face looking deeply inside of themself. Then and then only, can such a person/people, see the truth! not only about themself. But one begins to see that which "certain others" are doing to help humanity as a whole! What many are missing is lack of direct spiritual experience. Which will give them transcending answers that will go far beyond the everyday way of looking at things. And as a result, what was once speculated on, "about a person" changes!

    Peace!

  • I am from India and I will not make any apologies for this man Deepak. There are rednecks in India too... not everyone is as deluded as him...but the sad part is that there are enough people who would fall for this kinda crap(incl. doctors) because of a more traditional society and even more because of illiteracy. If I was the security guard in that building I would drag that man out at the cost of losing my job. He has no job sharing the stag with intellectuals like Shermer and Harris.

  • There was a time when I too admired his writings, now i really see what was all the crap that he was talking about. any how i am glad i grew out of it after watching Richards Dawkins talking to Deepak Chopra. nice to know there are others too who see what he really is even after all his work in India

  • Chopra needs to take a "Chill Pill"... for the Sage of modern spirituality... he is one angry "Dude" !!!

    Breath Deepak... Breeeeeaaaath !!!

  • This is fun as hell .

  • plenty of cheap shots from sam and michael. speaks of ego

  • @colquest What you call cheap shots, we speaking truth. Especially Deepak trying to teach a neuro biologist how the brain works.

They are calling him on his bullshit. At least Jean is smart enough to keep her mouth shut at this point.

  • Chopra owns at 5:15..

  • Oh my goodness. Chopra is one delusional paranoid puppy! He doesn't know the difference between science and imagination...particularly his own imagination! He is emotional and waaay off base! When fools rush in...to their own mindlessness. If ya wanna call since God....good! that makes you -still- an atheist who has merely changed the name of "Science" into "God". Why? Oh just to make people fell better...and so I can make a LOT of money on it!

  • lool einstein ment religion made us rebel to stupidity

  • The scientific perspective presented by Michael and Sam is spot on.. . But their demeaning arrogance is offensive.

  • The one thing that I disagree with Sam Harris about is that only a specialist can be correct about a particular field of knowledge. While it is true that knowledge specialists may be more apt to understand a given field of knowledge - Harris cannot imply that only a physicist can understand physics. Knowledge mastery is not that exclusive. Levels of comprehension and the ability to apply that knowledge cannot be confined that way.

  • Chopra seems to think he knows everything. How conceited he is.

  • I've never wanted to yell "SHUT UP" so vigorously and violently to someone as much as Deepak. I mean. GOD. PUN (IS THAT A PUN?) INTENDED.

  • @Bobselete

    No its not a pun.

I would stay away from puns anyway if I were you. I used to use them all the time. I even counted which ones would get a laugh.

But only one pun in ten did.

  • @Schopenhauer7 There IS no god.

  • Conscious soup is great with a quantum sandwich.

  • For some reason the way Michael is dressed I think he looks like a magician... I agree with everything he says though.

  • Sam Harris is a very good debater. He uses humour and gets to the context of everything in a very witty way. Michael Shermer is quite intelligent too, but he knows so much that he struggles at dealing with departures from science so far as the ones that Deeprak Chopra does. It's difficult to argue with someone that appeals so much, not because of his arguments, but because of its dull and burlesque sentences.

  • Any reason Ive watched 20min of this debade and the chick hasnt said anything yet?

  • @Ch1nn1s When you hear her talk in part 3 you will be grateful she hasn't.

  • @NeuroPulse hahahaha that cracked me up. So true.

  • @NeuroPulse Lol what did she say?

  • @Ch1nn1s You could tell that she tried a couple of times in video 1 but the fact that she didn't have the ego or assertiveness means that she is definitely the odd one out in this exercise of intelligence

  • @kperez151 And video 2

  • @kperez151 yeah, when i got to video 2 and heard her speak that was enough of an answer for me lol

  • @Ch1nn1s because this is highlander and she is THE WATCHER,,,she does not interfere until absolutely necessary and when she does she has to make sure she makes no impact!

  • @Ch1nn1s she's a complete nutcase

  • @Ch1nn1s I'm betting she was edited out intentionally

  • @Ch1nn1s I think they are editing her out for some reason.

  • @Ch1nn1s natural selection ^_^

  • Deepak sounds like an idiot here. Look up Osho for intelligent mysticism

  • Chopra certainly sounds different when he faces competition for folk's belief when compared to how he sounds when he has a whole show to himself

Another lousy monotonous trumpeter of ethics who is a complete and utter ass. What a sordid and tedious business.

  • Chopra does need to tone down his presentation style. His point about us being conscious observers of reality is an important one to acknowledge. It is difficult to picture - if we are truthful - what reality would be like if we were not there as observers of it. Empiricism gets us closer - probably - then any other model of knowledge. Still, ultimately we must say that how we describe things and how we use our senses will impact on the way we conclude things about what true reality is.

  • "saying it louder and relentlessly does not make it it true" we've all come across this technique to intimidate people, deepak uses it shamelessly with the wrong people.

  • ....everybody has a good point but deepak is right...

  • sam harris just shafted him ...

  • Wasn't Deepak Chopra supposed to be some kind of guru on how to live a better life? He sounds like a raving lunatic whose fraudulent methods have finally been exposed.

Sam Harris: "Could you dial it down just a little bit?" Schooling the "guru" on proper etiquette and respectful discourse. Love it!

  • @pasproulis

Right on! I was thinking exactly the same thing!

  • Why did Youtube update their software this year?

I never encountered a single bug in the old software. But now it's full of bugs.

  • Shermer was sure right about Chopra's "Tao of physics" bullshit.

They do that same thing in some areas of the humanities, i.e. "science studies".

They take scientific results and take them completely out of context, and just string words together.

  • Now let them all do a 7 day sesshin 16 hour a day retreat and report back or how about a 10 day Vipassana retreat and discuss,

    What are kalapas ?

Here, Sariputra, form is emptiness and the very emptiness is form; emptiness does not differ from form, form does not differ from emptiness; whatever is form, that is emptiness, whatever is emptiness, that is form, the same is true of feelings, perceptions, impulses and consciousness.

  • @SarahaJi

    WTF does that mean

  • @sonykroket It means you are nothing more then a pussy-fart.

  • @RankestRodney

Wow there ace, now that was a sharp comeback

    LMAO, you silly muppet

  • @pasproulis he's there because they think he is an authority on new-age bullshit

  • deepak just wants to shout down his opponents when they make a very valid point, which is that his is a charlatan who incoherently spews out a bunch of science-sounding words.

  • @pasproulis This is a debate between Michael Shermer and Deepak Chopra resulting from a feud and Chopra challenging Shermer to a debate on Larry King Live.
