The one thing that I disagree with Sam Harris about is that only a specialist can be correct about a particular field of knowledge. While it is true that knowledge specialists may be more apt to understand a given field of knowledge - Harris cannot imply that only a physicist can understand physics. Knowledge mastery is not that exclusive. Levels of comprehension and the ability to apply that knowledge cannot be confined that way.
Sam Harris is a very good debater. He uses humour and gets to the context of everything in a very witty way. Michael Shermer is quite intelligent too, but he knows so much that he struggles at dealing with departures from science so far as the ones that Deeprak Chopra does. It's difficult to argue with someone that appeals so much, not because of his arguments, but because of its dull and burlesque sentences.

Chopra does need to tone down his presentation style. His point about us being conscious observers of reality is an important one to acknowledge. It is difficult to picture - if we are truthful - what reality would be like if we were not there as observers of it. Empiricism gets us closer - probably - then any other model of knowledge. Still, ultimately we must say that how we describe things and how we use our senses will impact on the way we conclude things about what true reality is.
