  • I love the Blue box. I'm a big fan of those farty sounding fuzzes.

  • the octave down effect needs to go before the distortion

  • are they all true bypass?

  • nice gear...but tune that thing first bro...it's harsh on the ears...

  • heeeyy is that a circuit bent speak and spell in the back ground? awesome!

and i had a question, why is the output of the rat going in to the output of the boss overdrive?

  • @runishit I hate the way Boss pedals have their input and outputs, so all my pedals are built with reversed input/output.

  • @casiotone1331 oooooooooooooh, that´s kinda cool!

  • i see modded speak and math?

  • lolllll that last thing was hilarious! i want one of those.

  • is there any way to get an empty boss pedal enclosure??

  • cool vid

  • oh~ Where is my mind !!!

  • How well does that RAT work with a bass? Same results as with a guitar?

  • @norsktorskemann Yes, the RAT and any distortion works excellent on a bass as well as any other instrument. For distorting bass, I would recommend a Big Muff, though. You'll never go back to any other distortion. I have a Black Russian model that I modded to green Russian specs. I removed the diodes and installed jumpers, and the thing destroys you.

  • Where do you get the circuits??

  • LOL at 5:10, it sounds like Tom Morello on crack. Nice pedals dude

  • WOAH! Plz tell me the supplies for the blue box and slow gear, i NEED THOSE!

  • Wow, that blue box sounds like garbage.. Nifty, but how could you ever use that? The rat clone didn't sound like any rat I've ever heard, it sounded too raunchy.. maybe it's the circuit you used or possibly using cheap components. The slow gear sounds great though, as does the small clone. Nice job :P

  • @GhostOfAE I'm into a lot of experimental music, and the blue box is perfect for doubling down some of the circuit bent keyboards I own. For guitar, it's almost worthless, lol. As for the RAT, I had heavily modified the circuit and removed all the clipping diodes, and added higher values for the filter caps. I like a grittier distortion.

  • @casiotone1331 cool, that's great that you got what you wanted out of it. I love fiddling with different component values to try and find something i like better.

  • @GhostOfAE My favorite is the Gristleizer. It's a freaky Tremolo/stutter effect with selectable waveshapes. bring out all the trim pots to the front panel as pots and you have 8 knobs of pure fun. I'm working on rehousing it at some point, as it's in this really old TV tube tester enclosure, and it's absolutely awful to use live.

  • @casiotone1331 Haha, I bet. Sounds awesome though.

  • @GhostOfAE Stay tuned because right now I'm putting the finishing touches on the Fender Blender, Ampeg Scrambler, and MXR dynacomp clones. I've been out of making pedals for a while since lately I've been pouring all of my investments on parts for my DIY modular synthesizer, ;)

  • Holy shit, you played "Where Is My Mind?" by Pixies. First song I ever learned, and my number one favourite.

    Good job on the clones.

  • Witch amp are you using?

  • you should build a a guitar tuner =P

  • Can I have your schematics on APC. I like your APC design.

  • nice stuff thanks for all the links

  • I farted and made the blue box

  • wow. that blue box is out of control. lol

  • I KNOW! I KNOW! thats Is there anybody out there by pink floyd... and its not that bad....

  • TUNE THAT FUCKING THING! you spend all day making pedals and you dont buy a fucking TUNER!

  • good job

  • rofl.

    nice.

  • Alot of people are sayin the APC is the star. But does anyone realize how good the small clone sounds. It is beautiful. Very good work man!

  • LOL cool as hell there in the end !

  • that apc sounds fucking sweet, do like 8 takes of random dicking around at a low volume and you have yourself an EPIC abience track :p

  • I agree - that "A.P.C." is the STAR of this video! Wonderful!

...gotta make me one of those! Wooo!

    Thank you for posting this!

  • dude that fuckin' annoying, yet very retardy-ish,self-entertaining APC synth thing is awesome as hell. I could sit there 4 hours playing with that lil fucker haha. Make my neighbors move away maybe.

  • this is insanely sick a part with a punk atari console sounded like an ambient!! brilliant

  • the Blue Box sounds like a synthesizer. I would kill for that thing.

  • Nice say it anit so and, silent hill

  • The ACP, it is also available in Tone pad??

What a weird good stuff to use! Just crazy as I like.

    Good video!

  • The APC is not on tonepad, but VERY easy to make. Just google the "atari punk console" and click on images. The circuit will be the first picture. Very cheap, uses a 555 timer IC. A very nice intro project to give you practice.

  • Do you know any sites with that have the schematics for pedals, overdrives and other guitar effects?

    Thanks !

  • do a google search for:

    tonepad

    general guitar gadgets

They not only have schematics, but actual pcb files so you can do your transfers if necessary

  • May need to make a tuner pedal.....

  • FUCK YEAH he does.

  • @dratband Maybe an embedded microprocessor with frequencies stored in memory that compare to the input signal? This would be hard because there is more than just the fundamental frequency vibrating on a guitar.

  • I would like the chorus and slow gear on my board..Nice work..where Did you find the print for those??? It would be nice if they had something on line for those and the mxr carbon copy..

  • You bet it would, my friend has a carbon copy, and man is it a sweet pedal. Anyway, I get all my circuit diagrams from Tonepad.

  • Hello, you used the external wiring diagram shown in tonepad too?

  • Yeah.

  • nice

  • Brilliant video, best I've seen for ages! 5 stars.

  • I have a Squier By Fender Stratocaster :)))))))))))

  • forgot to say i like bacon

  • blue box is like the solo sound from paranoid by black sabith nice work man thums up to ya

  • holy crap !!!!

  • man the blue box and the APC are awesome

is it difficult to build a pedal? i would try to build one :P

  • If you never soldered before, or are bad at soldering, then you should practice first. There is a lot of small solder work, especially when you're soldering the IC pins. Other than that, it's fairly easy. You buy a board, buy all the parts, and solder them into the board.

  • any one know what song he played @ 1:15

  • It sounds like "Where is My Mind?" by the Pixies.

  • i <3 that song its called "is there somebody out there" by pink floyd

  • EAR RAPE!

  • Thanks for the ear rape :-D

    Haha

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh turn it off!!!!!!!

  • the small clone is my favorite

    great job!!

  • I'd build my own pedals but im to cheap and lazy. ATM I'm trying to figure out whats wrong with my amp (it just makes a buzzing noise if you touch the strings on the guitar, you dont even have to pluck them.)

  • I didn't read.

    DAMNIT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH

  • Nice! Check out my Hendrix fuzz if you got time.

How do you find the slow gear? the reviews on DIY etc are pretty bad, so i haven't bothered with it at all!

The punk console!!! Nice! my neighbours HATE that thing!

  • The slow gear is sold on byoc, if you don't already know that. However, I didn't feel like purchasing a kit, so I hunted down the PCB for about 11 bucks.

It's not really the DIY that was bad- it's the pedal itself. The Slow Gear is the most unstable pedal in the world of effects. The DIY one works exactly like the BOSS one. It's a bitch to set the trimpots, and I had to modify the circuit because some of BYOC's cap and pot values weren't allowing for a slow enough swell.

  • Hello can you make a closer review of MXR Blue Box please?

  • Sure, keep checking back

  • Solo is from Pink Floyd - Is There Anybody Out There?

And nice home-made pedals, man. :3

  • These are freakin awesome! I might be ab;e to build these! Need to replace my shitty, shitty amp though.

  • Why not BUILD your own amp!

    tonepad(dot)com

click on the amp project section

  • Cool, they have an original 18 watt! Any ideas as to the cost?

  • That will vary depending on where you source your parts. I think your best bet is Digikey or Mouser.

  • zhft7

  • Hey dude get on steam more often!

  • Hai there casio it are be dj

  • thats well good

    xD

  • I don't see how he's selling out. Perhaps if he was showing pedals made by companies and, in effect, advertising them then maybe, but he's just sort of showing off something that he probably spent a lot of time on and wants to show everybody. Also, with the description he's not telling you to build your own pedals using he's just giving you some resources and recommendations so that if you want to you can.

  • wat

  • Is There Anybody Out There? is the crappily played solo :)

  • You are a god, Casiotone!

  • omfg, your awesome man :D
