  • This is one of the absolute most beautiful and amazing songs I have EVER heard! I love it soooooo much! I can't stop listening to it!

  • favorite artist talks about God and being happy with an amazing voice!!!

  • father father thx u i was lost but now ive found

  • So hauntingly beautiful.

  • his music gives chills.....I like that We are in the heart of God/YHWH first He comes in OUR hearts when we LET Him in

  • Very beautiful! I want this one played at my wedding (if I ever have one!)! Neat that he wrote it for his own sister's wedding.

  • I can respect an artist who isn't afraid to express his feelings about God. Our society (US) has become so anti-Christianity, it makes me sick. Don't let a few bad apples ruin the name of Christianity. Keep the faith!

  • @WutDaFreakNutz not just a few apples sorry to say! a LOT of catholic preists have sexually abused children, Nuns physicaly abused children and the rest of the christian comunity threaten people with Hell.

Ask yourself would Jesus have done thus? NO

They say now that 1 in 10 Norwegian children has been abused by the church it is rotten to the core!

  • My favorite artist is not Jason Mraz but man this song brings me to my knees!!! He is a very talented and unprecedented artist!!!

  • I would love to see Jason mraz due several songs from The Prophet, when u read the book you start singing the words even when you get past the part from this song.

  • This version is much better than version on iTunes.....too bad this version is not available

  • Nobody will ever understand the love I have for this man and that voice<3

  • awell from what I get from this song, Jason realizes the true love comes from God.

So with true love, what can we do?

  • 1 person is an athiest.

  • @xoxolizzygirlxoxo

I consider myself an atheist, yet I clicked like.

This is my new favorite song, in fact. =)

  • @TeamBonklers Ditto! It's beautiful.

  • This is the first time I ever heard this song and it is absolutely fantastic....and I was a pretty big fan before.

  • Lyrics are taken from "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran pages 11-20, if you like this song, then go to the library pick up the book and read or listen to the audio book. I do not think Jason Mraz claims to have written the majority of the lyrics to this song. I am almost certain he admits to taking the lyrics from the book.

  • @coreyklein7322 You're right. He does admit to adapting the lyrics (with only minor changes) from "The Prophet". And it is an absolutely beautiful poem... this song does it justice. I'm not a big fan of the more uptempo version of this song, however. He should have stuck with this version.

  • @coreyklein7322 Thank you for sharing. I ordered the kindle version of the book after i looked it up on amazon and red a review that referenced the marriage section of the book, which seem to have inspired the beginning of this song. Thank you! :)

  • That was so beautiful, I just had to listen to it again because it was just so ...well.. genious :)

  • he wrote it for his sisters wedding

  • So nice i love this song, its the first time i heard it tonight. praise god, thats so nice this song...

  • "think not you can direct the course of

love itself directs the course allowed

believe not God is in your heart, child

but rather you're in the heart of God"

This is Panentheism. Christianity has nothing to do with it. Closer to the perspective of Deism than Theism, really.

  • lol its a great music but when i saw the gender of the viewers there is just woman but i very like it

  • i will play this at my wedding

  • This made me cry. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Wow, I always was so sad, wondering if this unbelievable superhuman musician, my favourite for all time, knows the Love of God. Now I found this and I believe that when Jason sings 'I do', that he really does.

    wonderful song, beautiful, touching.

'believe not God is in your heart, child

but rather you're in the heart of God'

    God bless:)

  • beautiful

thats all i can say, beautiful

  • That is one of the greatest love songs ever written. It gave me goosebumps & tears in my eyes. I knew from the 1st moment I heard Jason that he was something amazing. Bravo.

  • this is a beautiful song.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Guns Oil & Drugs

  • One stupid person who dislikes this video, why did you watch it then???

  • Wow.

  • the lyrics are excerpts taken from the poetry/philosophies of the Lebanese Prophet - Kahlil Gibran. Person research led me to discover the rest of his works - truly inspiring. Jason Mraz does an amazing job of musically bringing his words to another level.

How cool must that have been - yeah, so my brother is going to write an unbelievably kick ass song to perform at my wedding... what a talent!

  • theres a much better version of this called god rests in reason rmtv.

  • @RusswellMendez i like that one better to :P

  • This song give me a headache. lol. Awesomeness of the lyrics!

  • OMG! Where is a tab? PLEASE!!!!

  • Best singer ever!

  • this song made me smile the whole time was was listening to it I love it so much

suck beauty i feel inlove with it

    <3

  • Everyone who liked this, you should check out God Rests In Reason from Jason at Realmagictv =) It's same song but other version =)

  • @PurpleDragon009 Love iiit!, <3, (a)

    ;D

  • How do I find mp3iiiiify to download this song? I was told to google mp3iiiiify.

  • @EleanorHof Just download Free Studio Manager, and you can get your songs from youtube, =D

  • beautiful...

  • Would it be possible to send this ? Because I tried downloading it off youtube, and I can't find it anywhere on limewire :s

  • this is the best version.

  • Is this version available for mp3 download anywhere? A friend wants me to learn it and play it at her wedding and I'd like to put it on my mp3 player

  • You can download it with vdownloader :D

  • There's no way Mraz is atheist. Have you heard one of his songs??? He's gotta be one of the most spiritual people alive.

  • It's nice to here that the man who lives in a show-businessworld really belives in God. He proves that faith in Him can lead up to something.I think I was looking for it, I mean for this inspiration.

    Love his voice^^

  • We exist in God because all things were created in Him, and God is also in our hearts... it is not either or, it is both.

  • He is only in our heart's if you ask him to be. You must Invite him before he just enters :D

  • Semmi közöd hozzá, hogy milyen videókat rakok fel.

  • Simply amazing.

    Dude,

This song made me think and wonder especially the part :

"What do you do when God moves through you."

    Yeah, such an inspiring song.

Once again I felt that life is worth living.

    =]

  • i love kahlil gibran and this.

  • He's not an atheist he respects and appreciates all religions...just read his autobio on his site!!

  • Mraz is not athiest, btw. He is incredibley spiritual. What a beautiful song.

  • I found this song yesterday and LOVE IT! Thank you for posting the story of how it came about...

I love the version from RMTV!

    Thanks again...

  • I love Kahlil Gibran.

It's good to know Mraz is also a fan.

  • I don't believe he is christian, but this song was written from words adapted from khalil gibrans writings. For his sisters wedding.

    One of my faves

  • *sigh* i hope people aren't blinded to see the truth from the happiness that they have right now...

  • simply incredible!!!

this man does not seize to amaze

    Jason Mraz = Brilliance!!

  • Yeah...idc care if he's an atheist...well...ok I mean that would be kinda bad...but to write a song...as great as any of the songs that he has...is amazing...he's a genius...his alignments...he's just great...so even if he's christian...or not...he's amazing...to judge him in any way...or to even care...is stupid

  • it doesnt matter if he's a Christian or not because this kinda songs should be shared with everyone

  • he's not a christian. he's into new age.

  • Comment removed

  • He doesn't have to be a christian to write a song about it.

Whatever he is who cares. He's brilliant as far as I know.

  • I agree. Good on you mate

  • @blackbird12790 Real christianity isn't in the religion, its in the heart....

Real christianity is about love. You dont have to ascribe to any religion to understand it. Or be connected to God.

:) Jason mraz is on the same page as the Universe. It is flipping awesome.

  • @fenchurchforever You may be curious to know the meaning of Catholic is universal. And I agree God is love.

  • @blackbird12790 Communicating the Word of God, Jesus Christ, is a great gift.

  • @blackbird12790 I care. I'm interested in what he believes in now. And to write a song like this hints at a christian perspective; you can be christian and brilliant too.

  • @tha1ne how is this a christian song? just because its about God doesn't make it instantly christian... there's nothing about Jesus or the holy spirit in this song to make it a christian song. You dont have to be religious to believe in God. This is just a spiritual song. Many religions believe in one universal God. Many people believe in God and don't follow religion. :)

  • @currentGypsy I didn't say it was a christian song. All i said is it may suggest a christian perspective. By the way, Jason Mraz does believe in God. He said so in an interview

  • @tha1ne Please don't think I am knocking any religion. I respect all religions. Brilliance is not measured by how you were raised, only how you take what you learned and use it for good.

  • @blackbird12790 he is christian. it's in his song "on love in sadness." plus he's said it on tv before. but yeah , he's brilliant:)

  • jason mraz

    is an angel

  • lol so what if hes a christian. Your like :0 hes a christian.

  • wow he's a christian?

  • duh!

    (Sorry if that sounded mean)

  • I did`nt know he was a christian either.

  • Yeah, Kahlil Gibran is Arabic and was a Christian, educated by priests.

  • is he a believer? :)

  • this song is awesome.. comes on the album "selections for friends," which is only on itunes... but mraz must be a pretty spiritual and inspirational considering the lyrics are based off of kahlil gibran's 1923book "the prophet." ... thanks for sharing!

  • Isn't this song called "God Moves Through You"?

  • I meant "God Rests in Reason"

  • originally called "God Moves Through You", "God Rests in Reason" is the final version of it.

  • Comment removed

  • Just so inspirational. He is God's gift, no doubt about it. Just pure, pure talent. What a man.

  • brilliant! i'll have him for my wedding ^ ^

  • i'll have him as the groom in my wedding. =]

  • It's refreshing to see someone singing the poetry of Kahlil Gibran. Most of this song is from his book The Prophet.

  • all of his songs make me feel so happy. when im down i can listen to any one of his songs and feel great.

    thx, Jason ^^

  • I love it!!! I wish I could buy it =(

  • if you want it i can send it to you. then you can put it on a cd. it is a wma file but you can just download a converter to convert it to an mp3 and put it on a cd. i also have the song take me away. the recording got screwed up, however it is probably the rarest song he has

  • Can you send it to me too? I love Jason Mraz!!!!!

  • Could you send it to me? I would be incredibly thankful!

  • I know this is a little late, but I wondered if you wouldn't mind sending it to me, as well? Both, actually. :)

  • can you send it to me as well? I would be eternally grateful. i'm planning to get married within the year...thanks a lot!!!

  • I just fell in love with Jason. Have I been living in cave? Can't believe I'm just discovering him now. Well, better late than never! So glad I'm in love with his songs...they lift my spirit so....

  • This is an amazing song for anyone who is married. What an amazing interpretation. He wrote this in his early to mid twenties....how does someone so young gather this and turn it into music? I don't know but it's simply amazing.. Great work Jason

  • beautiful..

  • wow, this song is amrazing

  • mmh this is so real! We just can say Hallelujah!

  • I do !

    :)

  • beautiful!

  • WHERE IS THIS SONG?!

  • Right here?

  • lol xD

  • @vanexrox get his homemade album

  • What a beautiful song - I do!

  • I DO

  • I do !

    ;)

  • roadmaiap, being a christian has nthin to do with supporting obama or casual sex....jesus said that everything is allowed to us and that what suits or doesnt suit u is ur own business....christianity is bout loving ur brothers andbelieving that u shall have forgiveness for whatever u may do cuz jesus has already paid for our sins....and he loves u 2 much not 2 forgive....great song actually like all his songs =D

  • amen.

  • To sukysuspiro Jesus said"If you love me Take up your cross nfollow me"Its not enough to just believe n then live as you please We will always be sinners here on this earth, but as a Christ follower to deliberately sin because you know Jesus will forgive you is an awful example of Jesus."See I have set before you today life and prosperity and death and adversity choose life." Jesus is life God's word is a lamp to our feet. Gives success to those who obey them see Psamls 19:7-11.

    Follow His word

  • Grreat song! awesome words! :-) Jason Mraz is a great artist.

    I DO! :-) :-)

    Love possesses nothing

    Love is sufficient

    WooHOO Amen

  • Amen,Hallelujah!! :)

  • sure as christians we do have freedom to do whatever we want, but it is also said in the bible that to glorify Him we should make wise choices, so we can be seen as holy and respectable to the non-believers

  • being a christian can mean many things, and no one here personally knows each other (I'm assuming). So you should all calm down and just listen or don't listen to the song.

  • All of the lyrics to this song were adapted from "The Prophet", a book/series of poetic essays by Kahlil Gibran. Gibran's work is amazing and Mraz did a great job with it, taking poignant excerpts from various sections of the book. Impressive.

  • Interesting that his guitar is not in 440Hz tuning. Noticed it while trying to play along.

  • I say crap! Let me quote "He who has not sinned casts the first stone". A sinner regardless of whose affiliation he is into when he returns to GOD thousands of angels sing rejoice to the CREATOR. Let's not judge lest we are judged ourselves. A very inspirational song like this is spoiled by poopers who poops up with politics and religions when the venue is not proper. Enjoy the song and have a life people! You know who you are! You still belong to the human specie, right? Or not.......

  • oh everyone just get over themselves...what does his faith or political views have anything to do with the fact that he is an incredile songwriter, talented beyond his years and has an amazing voice

  • ok first of all, what does the fact the he likes obama have to do with anything? second, it seems like he has some worldly ideas but everyone sins and who are you to say that that means that he can't possibly be a christian or have any kind of relationship with God? let him be, let him do his own thing.

  • this only made mraz even more appealing to me. he's amazing

  • I do !!

    ;)

  • I love this song.

    I find it very beautiful

    and Comforting.

    -Emilee :)

  • God moves through everyone of us..

  • Yes, i do

  • Disappointed in that he is a believer???? Oh my goodness, don't you realize that his music is what it is because he is.

  • My heart's been shattered into a million pieces.

    :(

    Hot glue gun anyone?

  • THE LYRiCS iN THiS ARE S0 P0WERFUl N PRETTy & TRUE THiS S0NG iS BEAUTiFUl & WEll PUt T0GETHER !!

    JAS0N MRAZ MUSiC iS AWES0ME AS WEll WH000H00000 !!!

  • AMAZZINGG!!!

I was surprised, did Jason wrote this?? Oh.. Amazing. Great. Love it, I do..

''..let the wind of heaven dance between you too

allow the space and time to bring you closer to everlasting love

    cause God moves''

    what do you do

    God moves through you''

    Great lyrics.

  • "your children will not be your children

they are the daughters and the son of a beginning

they'll come through your womb but not be coming from you

they will be with you but do not belong to you

you may give them your love but not your thoughts

then they'll arrive with their own hearts

they're the coming of angels this blessed season

and then they'll sing oh how God rests in reason

    God rests in reason"

  • I do !

  • i think that it is really sad that you ding someone on their talent just because they are spiritual. It isn't like he is telling you to be spiritial. i think it is great that he wrights about the way he feels and what is on his mind at the time an that is true talent when you don't conform to every one else wants to hear and you are singing for yourself!

  • i got2 disagree. nottryin 2 attack ubut do u follow bushs admis.? cuz wat mrazs sayin is ttly diff. bush says believe ingod,no gays, democracy4 middleeast Im right urwrong nonsense. mraz is still mraz, ucan hear it in da way hesingsthe song. 4 all hissongs its not somethin were this is wati believe & wat i c now umust c it 2. its heressomethin amazin 4 theworld its urs 2 make wit it wat u want. theonly diffs the catchy upbeat tune 2 somethinsimple & from hisheart. hesjus singinabout wat heluvs

  • The I'm right you're wrong is bull. When has Bush ever said that? I bet you Bush would enjoy this song and see its meaning as well as anyone else would. I am a Christian and this song is so powerful add the fact that it was written by a mainstream singer/songwriter makes it a nice surprise.

  • Bush cant see crap !!!

As a matter of fact, I bet he can't read.

    lmao

I just dont like him but, I do love me some Mraz!

  • Im sure u also didnt know he smokes weed.

    :)

  • not all christians are repubs and followers of bush baby.

  • does anyone know where i can buy a copy of this song? itunes only carries god rests in reason, not god moves through you.

  • i am looking all over as well i can't find it either. :/

  • limewire has it

  • It's an unreleased demo... early version of God Rests in Reason written for his sister's wedding. You won't find it available to buy.

  • It's an unreleased demo... early version of God Rests in Reason written for his sister's wedding. You won't find it available to buy.

  • this is absolutely positively the best song i have ever come across.

i think he read that book when someone left him a package of books about that kind of thing anonymously with a note just saying to pass it on when he was done.

i don't know for sure but the prophet seems like one of the books he said he got, which were really spiritual.

his lyrics are as much art as words in a novel or essay.

he is the transcendentalist of music.

  • You Were Born Together and Together You Shall Be Forever....

What a work of art this is and what an artist Jason Mraz is.

  • The Prophet - Kahlil Gibran

  • Jason Mraz is my God.

which book are you talking about?

  • Beautiful. I read the book and realised that Jason's ''God Rests In Reason'' was about that book. xD

I was like: ''Oh, oh! ''God rests in reason'', it's in here!'' xD

  • i want to have his babies

  • this song is beautiful. i swear i want to marry this man.

  • todas las canciones que canta JASON MRAZ me encantan estoy totalmente enamorada de el. Es el mejor.

  • i am in love with jason mraz. no joke.
