It's not exactly that they're dumb, they just can't read minds and know what Mumra is planning, they're also not used to his scanning methods. Most likely because they're not H.W.D. or E.Souls.
At 1:24 Luke Mark was the only one defending Mumra while he was waking King up, now that's teamwork.
As for the second guy that was about to get stunned, that just happened to be a rolling mistake, unlucky indeed :\
