  • becuz in his endless love he will send us to hell to suffer for eternity -_-

  • This is probably the worst explanation of the "chalk" story I've seen yet.

Does god interfere with man's free will, or not? If so, then we'd expect to see prayer answered, but we do not.

If you believe man has free will, do you also believe that god is omniscient? If you do, then there's a problem bcuz they are logical contradictions.

  • @Cootabux there are things that are given in time, things that were worked hard for. If there are times that your prayers were not answered it doesn't mean god didn't hear any of them it is just that god is waiting for an action in YOU :)

  • I believe in God. and I Love Him. :'')

  • What a cop out!

Wake up & take responsibilty for the harm that religion has done & is currently doing to individuals & society.

  • thanx for this video..I was really mad at this Overactor's guy for puttin up such shitty thing but then again I forgot that it's his opinion nd beliefe..And you just made me realise that..God is real whether anyone likes it or not, whether they believe it or not..Jah bless

  • Maybe he didn't stop it because no one stood up the other 20 times

  • Isn't it strange that the professor has no name, that name is important!

  • @MyYufi Why? Nobody's named in the story. Because the story itself is a work of fiction, not a fact.

  • A loving God would not give people free will so that they would have the option to do evil because of it.

  • @MyYufi Are you for real? Or are you a 'droid obeying your programming? Free will, the ability to think, reason, and act independently of the compulsion of others, is what makes us human. Otherwise we are just slaves. You say a loving God would keep our wills bound, I say it's not possible to love something that isn't free to love back.

  • @springerjkreb you are slave to a horrible book called the bible ( wich im preety sure you didint even read it. maybe just some chapters that makes it look good) and you need to go search what the word love means.. do you make some1 suffer for eternity cuz they dont love you back?

  • @VelvetTearsNana I don't see it as slavery to read the history and beliefs of a people. And you can't define love. Oh sure, Oxford and Webster can attach a literal meaning to it, but there's a difference between what a word means and the true meaning of a sentiment. Do I make someONE suffer for eternity BEcauSE they don't love me? No. God doesn't either. You don't have to believe in Him, he loves you anyway.

  • springerjkreb

Then you're saying scripture of eternal suffering 4 Apostasy is simply not true? That's interesting, but good to know. I can take your word 4 it then that your interpretation is correct & all the others are incorrect?

How do you know a god, especially a biblical god, is real? If that particular god is real, then I say we're in big trouble, as the biblical god was sadistically cruel & evil. Evidence 4 that is all thru scripture. So where do Xians get this stuff about a loving god??

  • God gave people free will to choose good or evil? Are you serious?

Let's say you have a daughter that you love very dearly and very much and would do anything to never lose her in any way.

Imagine that one day you come home from church and find your daughter lying dead after being brutally beat and tortured in the most hideous way, would you consider that as Gods love for us. It happened because the person that was given free will BY God chose it for evil. The criminal AND God are BOTH to blame!

  • @MyYufi How is it God's fault that somebody chose to do evil? Will you blame God for the actions of Capone? Cortez? Stalin? How about Ed Gein or Ted Bundy? The Bloody Benders or the Zodiac Killer? Is God responsible for all the Evil of this world? No. All the above made a choice. Just as if the above situation happened I'd have a choice to turn him over to the police or track him down and kill him slowly and painfully. And God would judge me by my choices, but he is not to blame.

  • @springerjkreb if god created the world he also created the evil in it, and i really lovee how when something bad hapens to chirstians they say god doesnt interfer bla bla.. but when something good hapens they praise god as if he was the one doing it.. that alone is enough for some1 that isnt a slave to a atrocious book to disprove god

  • @VelvetTearsNana God created the world, but in every creation story I have ever read, it was MAN who created evil. And I really love how somebody outside looking in makes assumptions about a faith they know nothing about. When something bad happens, it's not God's fault, but we look to Him for the strength and understanding to work through it. When something good happens, we thank God, not for making it happen, but for helping US make it happen. And go read the Bible, you might be surprised.

  • @MyYufi It really depends on your own opinion. I respect that. But I'd like to ask, why blame God? If ever you see your daughter in that state, it's in your own will to think who is to blame. Are you saying blame God for not being able to stop the criminal to killing your daughter? Do you even believe that God existed? By your comment, I don't think so. Why do you even think who's to blame?

  • God had nothing to do with the chalk not breaking.

God made it perfectly clear in the Bible for people to not test him.

The professor tested God, however a God who does not want to be tested would not respond to the professors test. It should be clear now that God had nothing to do with any chalk. Also a loving God could not possibly want to prove himself in such a lame way. He would INSTEAD help dying children in poor countries to prove his existence, it was not God.

  • @MyYufi Do you claim to know God? Do you know the Plan? Can you say with absolute certainty that you know more about the workings of the world than it's Creator? There's a word for that. Arrogance. Maybe God IS helping the starving children in poor countries. Maybe it's not blatantly obvious.

"There was a raging storm, but God was not in the storm. There was a roaring fire, but God was not in the fire. Then there came a gentle breeze. And God was in the breeze." Book of Elijah.

  • @springerjkreb Question i ask you this do you belive that there is someone above god like there is for us. If your answer is no then i ask you this long ago we thought the world was squre at one point it all ends but the fact was that the world was circle. Right now we belive that there is no one above god how can we be certain how can god be certain that there is no one supiror to him that i sthe question i ask you. If you are able to explain i give you this you have the greatest mind ever

  • @springerjkreb The Plan? Is god a Cylon?

  • @jymbo1969 Where do you think Battlestar Galactica got the idea of a "Plan" from? And are you referring to the original or the remake?

  • @MyYufi um he does btw nice screen name

  • Amen, this vid is amazeing, god gave us all a choice he wants us to choose him but he wants us to have the chioce because how can u love if u r forced to,

love is love because we stay even when we have the choice to leave and god gives us that.

  • every miracle requires faith, thats the rule in the Bible, if im wrong plz tell me, but in biblical stories thats the only way i've seen it work, nice vid tho, and im glad to hear someone put the blame for "holy wars" back on PEOPLE

  • @thelabradude Jihad is actually Arabic for a struggle within onesself. The Crusades were a way for the Byzantian Empire to take back land stolen by the Muhammadians and to keep Christian Knights from killing each other.

  • @springerjkreb

thanks for the lesson, it even kinda helps my point. i just get sick when they say people "fought wars in the name of God" and look at it like God himself wanted the wars to happen, and tend to forget some of the basic human elements(greed, hatred, superiority complexes, etc) that go into the making of war

  • @smileyandshelly So, just out of curiosity, do you believe being Gay is Wrong? Or do you believe in allowing people to decide for themselves?

  • @thekoolerfire unfortunatly people do feel that way and although it's in the past it still happens

  • @thekoolerfire well people do stand up for thier beliefs, then it goes way to far and you come upon events like the crusades(in the name of god), hitler's "final solution"(hitler was a christain who killed "christ killers" and 9/11(muslim extremists)

  • well before you ca prove god gave us free will, you have to establish the fact that he exists, until you do that everything you say about him falls apart

  • @144mtl441 I have to prove that God exists? Why not ask an Atheist to prove that God DOESN'T exist? Until I can be offered concrete proof that there is no God that DOESN'T involve the actions of people, I will continue to believe in God and I will continue to believe that he gave us the Free Will to choose whether we believe in him or not.

  • @springerjkreb yes you do actualy, atheists dont believe for excatly that reason, it hasnt been proven, its not cause we can disprove, it because it was never proven, im open-minded to the possibility that god is real, i jus think its highly improbable, and if god is real religion is bullshit

  • @144mtl441 And it works both ways. I say He exists. You say He doesn't. I can prove He exists. I've died before. Clinically dead. I'm still here. My mother died three times. She's still alive. Neither of us was resucitated by technological, etc, methods. Tell science to explain that one.

  • @springerjkreb first off that doesnt prove god's existance, secondly don't act like you're the only person that has happened to, and finally it's called near-death experience no divine miracles involved, and my question is, why do you get to come back to life when other don't

  • @144mtl441 First, I know it's called a near death experience. Second, I'm not saying I'm the only, I'm just saying that it's happened to me. And third you have to experience one to know what I'm talking about. And my answer is that I'm not finished here. Everybody dies. Some of us get a second chance because we died too early and haven't completed our purpose. And I can't help but notice that you keep jumping on me for my belief in God, yet ignore my comments about religion.

  • @144mtl441 And I agree with you. Religion as it stands today is total bullsh*t. The concept of a group of people that all believe the same thing is good on paper, but factor in human politics and you have many of the problems with religion (i.e. crochety old men claiming to speak for God rather than allowing God to speak through them)

  • @springerjkreb

    1. If god only is concerned with humans and what they do, why did he created billions of galaxies?

    2. name ONE THING that has EVER been created and please dont be like "god caused the big bang" thats only as far as WE can see back

  • @buckeyefan2107 1. And who says he's ONLY concerned with humans?

    2. Okay, how about evolution? Do you really think life started from an amoeba? And that it just randomly began to get bigger? Don't make me laugh.

  • @springerjkreb

lol i know you know more then all the biologist who actually study life who know evolution is a fact. And it would make more sense if it was done by magic? (god)

  • @buckeyefan2107 Now you're putting words in my mouth, I never said I know more, just that there's always the unexplainable. I know evolution is a fact. But what CAUSED it, what CAUSED evolution to begin. Try that one. Explain that away by ridiculing me some more.

  • @springerjkreb

no one knows how it began, no one

  • @buckeyefan2107 So that it happened at all could be viewed as a miracle. God created life, and set it in motion. And until somebody can hand me concrete, indisputable proof that there was another force involved, that's what I'm going to believe.

  • @springerjkreb

so where did god come from

  • @buckeyefan2107 Only He knows.

  • @springerjkreb

because there is no pheasable scientific/physical/seeable/documented reason as to what CAUSED evolution to begin the only LOGICAL reasoning is that a miracle happened or "GOD did it".

keep up the good posts brother, i like your style

  • @springerjkreb

IF i remember right(i could be wrong agains, Darwins theory,(and im pretty sure commonly accepted science "fact") say that the very first life form came from "inorganic earth material. Earth material =minerals(rocks)

    crushed rock =dirt

how does dirt get life?,read Genesis, To me it looks like the bible answered this question before it could be asked(before evolution theory and study)

  • @thelabradude Which proves my point. You need creationism to get to evolution.

  • @springerjkreb (part 1) If you have mice in your house it is much easier to prove that there are mice opposed to proving there aren't. All i have to do to prove there are mice in my house is catch 1 mouse. In order to prove there are no mice in my house i would have to deconstruct the house, put up cameras everywhere, and watch each cameras recording. Even if i do this there is no guaranty that there are no mice in my house.

  • @springerjkreb (part 2) This principle of proving things applies to many different areas including the existence of god. In order to prove that he exists i only need to have one miracle that shows he exists. In order to disprove god i would have to put cameras in the entire universe, deconstruct the universe and watch the entire universe and wherever else he may be hanging out simultaneously. Obviously i can't do that. So the conclusion is that disproving god is absurdly difficult.

  • @springerjkreb Proving he does exist is rather easy. All you'd have to do is show me 1 (one) miracle of divine proportions that no human or law of physics could have accomplished and can be explained in no other terms other then "God did it.". Examples would include: Growing back a leg by prayer, A voice booming in the sky that says "I am your God and here is the proof of my existance" or anything else you care to come up with that complies to the previous definition of proof.

  • @Superfluffyfish Oskar Schindler. How else do you explain a man so driven by greed turning his life around in the middle of Nazi Germany? How else does a man come to care for so many people when everything around him screams those he's protecting are evil?

  • @Superfluffyfish Or if you're looking for something different, how about the Flood. Capital F Ghenesis build an ark flood. Check every major, minor, monotheistic, polytheistic, modern and ancient religion. With few exceptions, every religion has something about an enormous flood near the beginning of it's record. Hinduism, the Aztecs and Mayans, Christians and Jews, the Egyptians, the Greeks (and the Romans, which is slightly repetetive), the Celtic myths.

  • @Superfluffyfish cont...

That many colliding stories isn't a coincidence. Tell science to explain that one.

  • @springerjkreb (part 4)If it were ever proved that god exists,i will be the first to declare how wrong i was. I will run across the streets shouting "I am no longer an atheist and you shouldn't be either god exists i have seen proof!!" However there has never, to my knowledge, been such a miracle that has been impossible to explain. If anyone knows one i would like to know about it and i wonder why you aren't toting it around all the time as such a miracle would shut any atheist up immediately.

  • @Superfluffyfish Not so. It's amazing how people can stare into the face of the impossible and still say it doesn't exist. Black Swan. Coelacanth. And don't say that the existance of the Coelacanth disproves the Bible. It is well known and well stated the Ghenesis (to a point) is just a story.

  • @springerjkreb Let me ask you one question: Who wrote the bible?

  • @Superfluffyfish People, and you don't want to start this conversation with me, either. The very word "Bible" originally meant library. It is a history of a people. It has mythology (ghenesis), stories (Judges), music and poetry (Song of Solomon, Psalms), and even several biographies (the Gospels). And even a book of prophecies (Revelations). This whole "The Bible is God's Word put on paper" is wrong, even the Church has said it.

  • @thekoolerfire I don't really feel like debating anymore, the old debate was months ago and I am now more moderate in my views. But I did see a cool show on Nat Geo about the Shroud of Turin. Carbon dating showed that it was from the 12th century (I am not sure if that is the right one, but it is somewhere around there). Many scientists theorize that it is actually an early form of a photographic negative using chemicals available at the time in a simple way.

  • Answer to 0:46 because he doesn't have the time to deal with all of these random idiots on earth. These arguments about religion make an elementary school debate seem like an argument among scholars. Its like everyone misses the point of both the bible and virtue.

  • Answer; He did shout, so they could hear im pretty sure

  • Hey I appreciate your courage and strength! I join you in standing up for the Christian faith <3 I am a believer, I profess. Join if you are willing, for it is written, "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Fight the flesh. Be the spirit.

    And God bless!

  • *tear* aww! :'3

  • any thing can happen never say it cant happen it can

  • QUESTION: how did everyone know that he would shout "you fool" if no one had stood up for 20 years?

  • God stopped the chalk on the 21st time because someone finally stood up for HIM!!!!! Thank you Lord for Your love and mercy!

  • I've met a lot of Atheists who argue that religion is the cause of many problems. I argue that it is actually the intolerance of religion that causes these problems. I don't have a problem with Atheists. I respect them. A lot. I have a problem with intolerance.

  • What college professor has used chalk in the last 20 years?????

  • An old-school one.

  • I am an atheist myself. But i don't go around bashing other people for their beliefs. I don't pity them either for the sole reason that i wouldn't want to be pitied for something i believe in. People are too focused on proving other people right, or proving their right to other people, its stupid. Personally the reason why i don't belong to a "religion" is because i believe in the power of humans, i believe in the kindness that come form them. People tend to forget that people are PEOPLE.

  • People also tend to forget that there are liars and hypocrites in all denominations of society. I in no way condone the act of yelling in ones' face that they're going to hell. One of Jesus' main teachings were unconditional love. Yes, some of us fall short. That's why we need Jesus to forgive us of our sins.

If anyone's giving you crap, I'd like to talk to them and set them straight. (And no, I'll do it without fists.)

  • I met a Christian once, he was full of hate. Yelling at everyone that they were going to hell if they didn't convert right now. Even yelling at other Christians that were defending people right to choose. These people I hate. I also hate Christians who follow the bible to the letter. Why is it wrong to be gay? It's not a choice like some Christians would like to believe. Also why would you hate one someone for being gay? Doesn't the bible teach you better? I'm not saying this applies to all

  • AMEN!!!!!

  • who claiming to live Christian lives were not and were only part of the church to have the power that came with it at the time. This is not what a true Christian would do, a true Christian will do their best to live life in a way that is pleasing to God, they Do Justly, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly. I myself fall short of living like this a lot of the time but I try my best, and thankfully God forgives me. If you have any questions please ask. =)

  • The reason God gives us free will is because He wants us to want to praise Him and live a life that glorifies what He has done for us, sacrifice his only son to regain a relationship with us. Here is an example for the free will Q: Wouldn't you rather someone love you and give you praise when it comes genuinely from their heart, and not because they were forced to love you. As for the early church, there where some definite wrongs done there, and it can be attributed to church leaders...

  • God doesn't make much sense to me, as of right now I don't believe in god and have many doubts.

Hopefully that will change some days, if not I know I was right.

  • I hope you do to. One thing is that, and I say this to overacter's appeal as well, that you can't prove that god exist's or dosen't exist through logical means first. He isn't made by man nor will he exist in the hearts and minds of men by reasons and makings of mens explanation. We have to submit to his thinking and to his ways. So meditate and pray with real intent and the want to believe and as you keep praying till something happens, he'll show you cause he loves you!!!!

  • ya you and TheOneOveractor are right, and ya god gave us free will makes sense, but then whats the point of hell... how can we go to it if "God" thinks its fine to make fun of him and not believe in him? your basically saying that he'll forgive us always... right?

  • Close. There are some things that are unforgivable. The idea is to live your life as a good person and you'll be fine.

  • I am going to ask a simple question What will do if we the christians are right and you are wrong which you are but what will you do?

  • I'm going to ask you to rephrase that question so that it isn't provocative.

  • Comment removed

  • you guys are really good at making text videos with gay bands playing in the background.

  • why thank you for the complement. ;)

  • The chances:100000000 to 1

Why didn't he stop it: Did anyone stand up for him any of the years before?

Killing in the name of God(wars)- in my opinion wars are also started by money and greed but thats just my opinion.

Why doesn't God stop us- he gave us free will.

Thanks for the video =] -morgan

  • Thank you good man! I think yo will be rewarded in heaven the best halo yet!

    Amen to you all!

  • I'm just a man supporting his beliefs. I sincerely doubt this will result in anything but a "Good job."

  • i couldnt believe in this more. i love this video. it explains the stupid questions perfectly. everybodys like if god exists how could he let this happen? because he gave us free will

  • dude god in the first testament is a dick.even if he is real, i would much rather hang with jesus than god.i mean gods rules are unfair

  • How are they unfair? The ten commandments as freedom rather than restriction

    I. I am the Lord your God, you shall have no lesser gods before me

Everyone is united in one Faith. Nothing like the ongoing debate on this video happens so everyone gets along.

II. You shall not take the Lord's name in vain.

Stopping disrespectful speech means everyone respects each other and gets along.

III. You shall remember the Sabbath.

Everyone takes one day to rest, assuring that tempers don't

  • fray or become short.

IV. Honor your father and mother

Respecting your parents allows them to raise children to be good people.

    V. You shall not murder

No need to fear for your life if nobody's planning to take it.

VI. You shall not commit adultery

If you know your spouse will be faithful you can trust them.

  • VII. You shall not steal

You know your posessions are safe. You can leave them unguarded or lend them out with the assurance you will get them back.

VIII. You shall not bear false witness

If nobody lies, everybody's honest and can be trusted.

IX. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife

If you don't lust after a married woman you won't be tempted to seduce her.

    X. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

Don't want what's not yours. You won't be tempted to steal it.

  • When looked at from this angle, the commandments, the entire basis of the old testament, become freedom rather than restrictions.

  • Counter-example to number 1: We could just be tolerant. Although I disagree with some of your views, I debate them in a respectful manner and cause no harm. Everyone was united under the Catholic Church at one point, that was a great time, what was it called? Oh yes, the Dark Ages, people were tortured and burned by the religious, but it is okay, they were all united. It seems like these commandments could be boiled down to and replaced by compassion, forgiveness, respect, grace, common sense

  • So counter the rest. And as for your listed counter: Everyone was united behind corrupted old men who kept the people in ignorance to preserve their power. Religion was the excuse, not the cause.

  • Sure, you could ask for help, you can pray, but the teacher never shows up, I haven't talked to her. When you pray, there is no answer, God gives no specific instructions. No overwhelming evidence points to Jesus, except for what some claim is a good or confident feeling, the same type I get when I think I know all the answers to a test, but still flunk it when I take it. Math and science are my teacher, they guide to one and only one truth and always provide the correct answers.

  • God did give specific instructions. It's called the Bible. That's enough. For the rest, belief is all that's needed. And as to math and science, they are cold and exact. There's no room interpretation or debate. Give me God any day.

  • But wasnt the bible tampered with throughout the ages? Changed. Things taken out, things put in. So how specific can these instructions by god really be I wonder? Was there any instruction taken out that god held to be extreamely important? Knowing this how can we still take this corrupted work of god to still be the true word of god?

  • Not much. The Old Testament is a history of a people and that people's laws. You don't tamper with that sort of thing. And as for the New Testament, if it had been tampered with then either the Epistles would have been taken out because of Paul's attempts to undermine Peter or several passages would have been removed because they showed Jesus' acceptance of women as equals. The Bible has been largely unchanged except for the KJV, which was a political tool.

  • If God is perfect, the bible should also be, but I find flaws within the bible. Such as when it says that God created the Earth in 7 days, or that he created man before animals. Although this does not affect the overall morals much, it shows that the Bible was not written by a God, who would have no errors. All evidence shows that many of these ideas are incorrect, and when applied to the world they did a good job at freezing scientific progress for awhile.

  • The Bible is not perfect because it is man's interpretation of God's word. The passages you refer to in Gehnesis are myths. Every culture has a creation myth, and that's what Ghenesis is. Bible in Hebrew (?, Aramaic? I forget) means library. And the Earth in 7 days thing was to say, "Hey, even God needed to rest." And it is documented that the Bible is written by men. It was taken as literal because, again, crochety old men wanted to keep their power. All documented History.

  • ExplosiveScience, I am a true Roman Catholic, and as such I can tell you what you think about the bible is a result of pretestant interpretation, and misleading others. The real Church, teaches the bible is not a science book, it is a book of messages, symbology, phrasology, all of which is without error in Gods teaching. Not say the creation litterally happened in six days. Time is a man invention to better organize events and understanding, and God uses time in our sense to help us learn.

  • But this is just one of many flaws, and the Catholic Church is worst of all with misinterpretations, here are some historical examples: indulgences, burning witches, persecuting Galileo, fighting evolution as well as any type of scientific progress, having orgies and illegitimate children of the pope, the Crusades, and much much more. You may think the Church has changed, but the Church did not admit Galileo was right until 1992, that was pretty recent, it took 400 years to admit a mistake.

  • You are wrong to say those things about the church. Any real study, and you will see the opposite. The church never officially made declaration against science, certain members did not like advancement, but the OFFICIAL teaching is to advance science to understand gods world. Hence, Georges LeMaitre, the roman catholic priest who created the big bang theory, and a monk who started genetics. The church also took Alchemy and turned it to Chemistry. And the whole witch thing was prots, not cats

  • Faith is bad, another word for close-mindedness, faith is believing in something because there is no evidence, the exact opposite of science, like I have said, faith is what lemmings have, it is not a quality I will ever have because it is dangerous.

  • Oh my goodness. Explosive, I would love to be able to respond, and clarify many many misconceptions you have, and false knowledge of things. You are not fully correct in many of your accusations. However, based on the amount of responses you gave to my ONE response, and the tone you took, I don't think me trying to explain anything will do any good. All I can say right now is, I am a devout catholic, and know my faith. I can share it if asked, or not. But don't think I am petty because of it

  • Okay, I respect Catholic people, I have nothing against them, I just don't like the Church, I think they get too involved politically and have a very bad track record which is more secular than anything else. Jesus never wanted or mentioned a pope, I just disagree with much of what it teaches. But, I have known many great Catholic people, so do not think that I judge you for this, I may disagree with your views in this area, but would most likely still respect you as a person.

  • You claim respect, then turn around and insult us, as much as openly calling us ignorant genocidal baby-killers. You ARE judging, and angering a great many people with your willful ignorance and hate-mongering.

  • I do not mean to insult you, I apologize if it seemed like this. I question your beliefs to better understand them and see what logical arguments you use to defend them, I do this because I seek insight into faith as well as the true pieces that all religions contain. I did not mean to insult you personally, and once again apologize if that is what it came across as. I have no willful ignorance, only a desire to know, and use aggressive (maybe too aggressive) tactics to seek the truth.

  • You are forgiven.

And it's as simple as that. You made a mistake. You apologized. I forgave you. That's how it works.

  • And there is more: original sin, becoming involved with politics, telling people what to believe, excommunication, persecuting Jews, causing the Dark Ages (which ultimately halted all progress for 100 years), and something done in the past year. The pope recently visited Africa and preached condoms were evil, Aids kills more people in Africa than just about anything else, the misconceptions he is spreading are killing people, as they always have. Where in the Bible does it say condoms are evil?

  • Hmm, gee...the Dark Ages...couldn't have anything to do with the fall of the Roman Empire, could it? And it wasn't that condoms were evil, it's been proven that Condoms aren't 100% effective against viruses like AIDS. Condoms do next to nothing, and there are studies everywhere saying this. Persecuting Jews, etc., is a load of BS from a time where the 1% of the population that was educated conspired to keep everyone else ignorant, so keeping their power.

  • Crusades and persecution of Jews did happen under the Church, I get my info from AP Euro. And condoms are not 100% effective, but they decrease the chances of catching HIV by 85%, and the Church is against birth-control, I do not know what studies you refer to. The dark ages originated with the fall of the Roman Empire, you are very correct, but continued for so long because of the Church

  • Crusades 101:

Fact 1: Wars were started because Eurpoean knights were bored and killing each other for fun.

Fact 2: Byzantine emperor Alexi I was losing land to the invasions of the primarily-Muslim Moors.

Fact 3: Alexi appealed to the Pope in Rome for aid and the warring knights were sent to fight the Moors instead of each other.

It wasn't a religious war, at least not for the Christians. The European knights were mercenaries using God and Constantinople as an excuse to make some $.

  • And as for the whole birth control thing, try Natural Family Planning, or restraint. You don't want to get AIDS? DON'T HAVE SEX! Duh!

  • A corruptible man can never speak for God, the Catholic Church is not a spiritual or religious group, it is a political monarchy which misleads the blind and gullible out of free thought. The Church has a more notorious record than the KKK, it has killed and tortured many, many more people; it has a history which makes me amazed that it still exists. The Church teaches children that they will burn if they disagree with its teachings, I would rather die than join such a group.

  • Close. A man cannot speak for God, that is true. The catholic church is also a religious group, but run by men. And a comparaison between the Catholic Church and the KKK isn't fair. 2000+ years. 150 years. Make the comparaison, mister math. The Church teaches no such thing, and you are a fool for suggesting it. And with all your flawed knowledge and intentional misconceptions, I don't think you would be allowed entrance into the Church, not without a massive correction to your knowledge.

  • I am open to correction. Some of what I have said has been incorrect, but the overall concepts hold. I would convert if I were to see that your answer was correct, but I see no evidence of a Christian God and prefer to admit that I cannot possibly understand with certainty the basic questions of life (agnosticism). I will admit that the Catholic Church is good-willed (not the KKK), but I still see a long history of major flaws which are unacceptable in any ideal religion.

  • You mean most if not all of what you have said has been incorrect, and the overallconcepts do not hold.

"It is the final proof of God's omnipotence that he need not exist in order to save us."

    Peter De Vries, 1958.

Show of faith. You don't see gravity or black holes, and you don't see God.

  • I see many things, I see gravity is a force which no one yet fully comprehends (getting closer though). I see evidence for black holes and do not yet have a complete understanding of them. I see that I fail to understand the majority of the universe, but, unlike a religious person, I don't personify this into a God. I will leave god as a possibility but will say it is equally if not more likely that the universe was created by a system of scientific and mathematical laws which no one understands

  • @springerjkreb I don't see gravity, indeed, but we can say with great certainty that it isnt angels shoving us towards the ground, or other such nonsense. Your views are primitive at best, and your arguments weak.

Science deals in observable phenomena, god does not fit this definition.

  • Also, I like science and math more just for the reasons you said. There is one answer, and there is no room for interpretation or debate (or war). You cannot be misled by science and it does not condemn anyone. It helps the world and people everywhere without giving them false hope. People often turn to religion to understand their surroundings, and when they fail fail to understand their surroundings, it is most comfortable to personify them and pretend you can control what really you cannot

  • You cannot be misled, but you are condemned for making a mistake. It's cold and unyielding.

  • You are not condemned for making a mistake, this is what I see when I look at most religions. In math and science, you simply become better with practice and keep trying. Things are more clear because there are not multiple meanings. As for cold, yes, research often lacks the human touch , but the human touch is flawed and causes problems, as it did with the Bible. It is nowhere near unyielding, every positive change in the last 200 years I can think of comes from math and science.

  • Oh, but you are. A single small mistake and everything is wrong. And with Faith you get better as you keep trying. And again, you mistake a collection of stories and history for absolute truth. And it is unyielding. You cannot make a mistake or you will be wrong.

  • Scientific advancements make our world. You may be incorrect if you make a mistake, but others will correct your mistakes and build on your ideas, they will give you credit, not condemn you.

  • Besides problems with details, my other biggest barrier to accepting Christ as the one true savior is lack of physical and scientific evidence. A book is not evidence. If Christ wanted me to accept him, he would have made my choice clear, and it is not. There is one key point that I agree with you very much on, and that is when you said that you must not accept Christ to go to Heaven, I only saw that you wrote this recently. The concept of hell has been my largest problem with religion.

  • So not a book. How about a library? And not making the choice clear is part of what makes it worthwhile. Few choices in life are clear, why should this one be?

  • Because according to many believers, this one is the most important. Without the information to make a decision, it is best not to. For example, you cannot say "I know Christ was the 1 true savior" because you do not understand the full workings of the universe and were not there to see Christ, just as I cannot say "I know that the big bang happened", I can only use evidence to state what is most likely and must admit there is a chance I am wrong, not have "faith" that my idea is right.

  • you are using the wrong word. It isn't "I know Christ is the true savior," the phrase is "I BELIEVE Christ is the true savior." It's about belief, not knowledge. If there was irrefutable proof of God's existance, everyone would be good out of fear, not out of belief in goodness. It takes away free will.

  • the chioce isnt clear but thats one of Gods tests of ur faith to Him

  • Because faith is what lemmings have, they do not need proof or evidence to show that they are on a safe path, they just have "faith" in the lemming they are following. One must always keep an open mind to logical alternate ideas. I cannot not say "there is no god," this would make me a religion, having knowledge which cannot be proved. I can say "I see no evidence that the universe is controlled by a conscious being, but it is most likely controlled by factors which I do not understand.

  • no i mean you could be a serial killer but still believe in god and go to heaven. The nicest atheist in the world would spend eternity in hell. That sucks.

  • There's a name for the like of serial killers in the church. It's called Hypocrite. Believing one thing and practicing another. And every atheist I know (with a handful of exceptions) does good because they believe in doing right. That's half the battle and half is enough when it comes to "Salvation."

  • I want to thank you for making this video response and defending what you believe i admire that. you obviously feel strongly about what you believe in and i wish i could be as strong as you in my belief but the truth is too many times has the subject of God and religion come up and i've blown it off or just ignored the topic rather than defend my own beliefs so thank you for giving me the strength I need to stand up for my belief in God

  • Normally I don't get involved either. The Religion issue can destroy friendships and relationships and turn potential friends into bitter enemies. This was the exception.

  • Youtube had issues with showing the whole vid. And ive looked at both sides of this. Pushing beliefs or non-beliefs is never right. Wars have been fought since humans crafted weapons. Simply pushing it all on religions is a narrow, close minded view. There are flaws in even science of what was thought to be proven fact was no where near close to what is reality. Take most religions and they say the creator made everything, hence everyone, everything was put here just the same.

  • I tried to write almost exactly that on his comments, but all my words were over by like 300 characters. Thanks for posting! :D

  • ur rite about how he only stopped it the 21st time thanks for making tha video but people ahve to realize that god to incredible things in our lives we just have to repent and give him ur heart things willl happen

  • You're missing the point here. People don't HAVE to do anything. That's the point of Free Will.

  • i don't care if this story is true or not, it is a great illustration for the belief in God. the reason god never stopped the chalk before was noone stood up for him...until now.

  • he will wait for us no matter wat we do he loves use we are his children all of us even the once that try to turn away

  • Great job on being brave and expressing your opinion. Great vid. :)

  • I think toes and cxw have the right of it. It doesn't matter what I believe because it's me that believes it. The problems start when people start pushing their beliefs on others.

  • whats up with all the aar and fob music on these videos, lol

  • You know these videos need to stop. I don't mind one AAR song but no FOB. And this bickering about a supposed "God"... It's never going to end. It's been going on for longer than we can remember. Religious persecution. It's not "god" it the people that follow him. Simply put religion. I like to point the finger at all the christian denominations. Hypocrites. It's all about faith. People are afraid to die so they make up something to look forward to in the end. It's easy to understand.

  • "Jesus contradicts himself when he preaches forgiveness, yet throws sinners into hell"

You got it backwards man. We are all sinners. Christians included. First came the rules - and we break them. We all deserve to go to hell. Then came forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. Being a sinner isn't what gets you to hell, else we would all go to hell. Refusing the forgiveness is what gets you to hell. The only way to the Father is through the Son. Not contradiction- grace and mercy.

  • Regardless of what one person says to another, people are going to believe what they want, based on their experiences, not because one person says to another "hey you're wrong, I'm right" which is actually a facade for the insecurity in their own beliefs.

  • Aye-yi-yi. Exactly what I am talking about.

  • Circular logic is not comvincing me. Sorry. Why are there people BORN disabled? Certainly not because of their free will or their parents. No perfect, all-knowing, omnipotent God would make this possible.

  • And why not? I have Tourette's Syndrome. Some call it a disability. I call it a challenge to overcome. Are you going to tell me it isn't?

  • im glad u made this vid it hits the moral of the story on the button! alot of things nonbelivers ask me is"why doesnt god stop all the bad things from happening?" and i always wanted a good answer for them, and gave it to me.Free Will. thanks so much

    rock on!

  • Great points man, I totally agree with god giving us free will. But, the story it self is a hoax. If you do some reasearch, then you'll see the story doesn't make sense. For example the only philosophy classes that have 300 students or have been around for 20 years do not discuss God's existence. I'm all for god, I just don't like being lied to. To fail to see the truth is to fail to see god.

  • That is why it is a STORY. I went round and round with Dalmakator on this. It is a made-up story to illustrate a point.

  • so your saying if i stand up, say a prayer and love god, that miracles will happen?? well i just did and this damn video still makes little sense

  • Maybe because that's because you're choosing not to understand it.

  • he might he might no depends on your fath god tests ppls fath everyday thats way bad things happen to good ppl and if thos ppl still belive in god after that all thats been wrong to them he will give you life after death

  • G.R.A.M.M.A.R.

Has no one heard of it?

  • Okay, those are some nice and respectable, not to mention educated (thank god) arguments. Worth watching. I understand that God respects free will, but if that is the case, why does the courage to stand up work when a professor is challenging you with a piece of chalk, and not when a killer is challenging you with a gun, or poverty is challenging you with starvation?

  • But it does.

Guy: *waving gun* Do you believe in God?

    Girl: Yes

    Guy: *Bang*

Names escape me at the moment.
