The reason they didnt put up a fight was due to Sidious' scream as he jumped at them, i think it like, distorts them for a brief moment, which was enough for sidious to kill 2 of them. then mace and kit fisto regained themselves and begun fighting. Maybe the first 2 looked away because of the scream, trying to protect themselves.

Palpatine is superior to Mace because it's known that Yoda was the greatest Jedi and Palpatine and Yoda ended up as equals after their duel. My theory is that when Sidious did his little spin thing, the two masters were so damn surprised, they were Twister partners and have lost a few tournaments and both believed the other lacked the necessary Twister flexibility capability. So they pondered to themselves if that, after the fight, they should request that Sidious be their new partner, but we can see how that turned out. Sidious is a one Twister man, he don't use that kinda Force...

@Blake4014 The sad part is that the first guy who dies is Agen Kolar, who is supposed to be one of the most skilled lightsaber users in the galaxy... the second guy (Saesee Tiin) is a starfighter/telepath master so not as much expected of him I guess... Kit Fisto, also being one of the best lightsaber users at least managed to hold him off for a while before dying...
Point is, they had 3 lightsaber masters and a telepath and still failed xD

How does it benefit the story in anyway to highlight a random Jedi seen for about 3 seconds in the background of one shot of a battle scene halfway through one of the movies, and pontificate about how he was the best Jedi ever and was more wise and powerful than Yoda and Obi-Wan combined and the best lightsaber user out of the entire cast, only to completely ignore that he gets absolutely owned the second he is seen?
