Why are some videos easily accessible & some video take like forever to view them? I'm just wonderin! Coz I again I kept repeating myself with this. One of fiber optic lines in taiwan were destroyed! So they say they are using a backup line! So could it b the problem?
The way TCP/IP works, the packets that comprise a video may not all take the same path over the Internet! Or even arrive in order! So if there has been a big problem there in Taiwan with connectivity, I suspect that the problem viewing videos isn't so much with YouTube, as the convoluted path(s) that the packets take getting there, and the difficulty of reassembling them if some of them are dropped or lost or out of order.
I don't know. I'm realizing, while I watch this, just how much computing is going on 24/7 just by youtube. It's amazing it's free to us. But then we do make all the shows.
Do you think that it's possible that youtube is allowing this stuff to happen at this point to push everyone more towards uploading videos for doing more of their communication on here. Just my theory.
It took me a few seconds to understand your theory, but once I did, I realized that it certainly is a rational possibility; however, my own experience is that large projects in general are so difficult to implement (to me it is a miracle that anything works) that a natural explanation seems much more probable. Their poor communication with their users does mean that there is something going on in their heads that we don't understand, and maybe you have figured out what it is.
What are you doing here. I was thinking the same thing. It would drive responses to video. The excess memeory eaten up by changing text all the time is the ghost in the machine.
Well, I guess I could be, but I'm sure they know what their problems are, too. I'm pretty certain I couldn't have done a better job. It's easier to throw rocks than build the glass house. Thanks, dude.
Aaaaaaaah! The missing piece to the jigsaw puzzle.
I don't think I have any further questions to ask Joe because you have answered everything that I would have liked to know - I feel sure that you have insider knowledge when it comes to YouTube. ;o)
