I love how everyone's flipping their shit over Irene. If Sherlock had any kind of romantic interest in her, I don't think he would've been completely and utterly disinterested like he is, even if he is Sherlock. I think Irene is a great character and a good source of conflict for Sherlock and the show. I think it's a stupid thing for the fandom to split itself over. (No one seemed to rapidly hate against Irene in the RDJHolmes films. Why should this be any different?)

@SuzumeChiyu i know exactly what you mean :) loads of people i speak to about it are completley obsessed with sherlock being either A-sexual or gay for john. they seem to think adler isn't important because she was only in one episode. but shes so much more segnificant. she mirrors sherlock, they're both facinated by eachother, they both see a slightly seductive mysteriouse side in eachother that they've never come accross before. i think the way they potray her is fantastic. :)

@cellyna I first saw it that way too but seeing the trailer, I'd want to see how the writers created this story in a modern take and the bottom line is Sherlock and Irene are attracted to each other mostly because the other mirrors themselves. I would bet that the nudity would be relevant to the characters' portrayal. Personally, I feel it would be a lot better than last time-based on feedbacks and promos. :)

In the original story, Sherlock and Irene interacted for less than five minutes where he tricked her into letting him into her home and revealing where she had hid a compromising photo of a royal person. She got away from him and left to marry another man.

She was the only woman to ever fool Holmes.

But there was no love. NONE! Even experts will agree that the only love Holmes ever shows is to a wounded Watson.

But for bringing the stories ALIVE and for making Holmes the way I pictured him, its Jeremy Brett- All. The. Way. RDJ's movie version isn't too bad. I mean, its all typical Hollywood, but its an interesting take on Holmes.
