Nice bread recipe, almost like a bannock only you have yeast, I like that. Can you tell me about the grinder? I have been looking to find one like that but you never know what your buying. How long have you had yours and how has it held up? what type etc? anything you dislike about it? and does it grind fine enough? and one more thing, does it have an adjustment so you can grind corn? I have a hand meat grinder I hook to an electric motor and your grinder has the wheel, its perfect. Thanks, Joe
@savgal1211 You can get a motor attachment for it too ;) I am waiting on the belt for my bike attachment and then I will be riding and grinding.............who could ask for more!
@TheCajuntransplant thank you. My grinder was on my wish list for several years before I got it. You should have seen the look on Sissy Sue's face when I jumped up and down about Pa giving me a wheat grinder :)
@kokonutbaby1 We get them from a place called Homestead Heritage. We drive there and get it but I think you can order online too. Not cheap to ship 50 lbs of wheat though ;) Thanks for stoppin in.
@tearmakerman1 Oh and it does do a wonderful job. I love it. I just ordered the bicycle attachment and should get it in 2 - 5 weeks. They make them as they are ordered. Don't ya just love that?
that bread sure looks plum larripin ya aint gonna let sissie sue eat all that by herself are ya she might get foundered sissie bob yer just gonna have to hook the grain mill to sissie sue bicycle n tell her its time to bug out lol
Why do some people let it set and rise for like 12 hours? This has always discouraged me from making bread but now I will try it! :) I am an artisan after all :)
@ArtisanTony I think they do that to make it a lighter bread more gas bubbles to make it rise. We got more an enough gas bubbles in this house so we like our bread rustic-like :)
Is that the Grainmaker you have? I have one but it's a six cup hopper. I didn't know they made a four cup hopper with a flywheel. That recipe sure looks easy.....thanks.
@mammysinthekitchen Yep, that's a Grainmaker. I just double checked and it's a 4 cupper :) It's doubles great too. I double it, stick it in the frig and pull off what I need when I need it.
