  • Talking Heads sounds less tormented than King Crimson and I'm a big fan of KC.

  • Overwhelming momentum. Less far-futuristic than the album version but more primal and profound.

    Here, Tina (and Busta Jones)'s bass line is promoted way up in the mix, compared to the LP track, which producer Brian Eno daringly left almost bassless. What a difference!

    The dark bass undertow tames some of the chaos and pulls you through the full 8 minutes.

  • @classof77 the bass line on this version is a totally different than the one on the record. the notes and rhythms are different, and she is using a pick here, while on the record she is slapping. i have the remastered version and it's pretty prominent on that. maybe it just doesn't sound like bass to you because of the high register overtones the slapping creates.
