@classof77 the bass line on this version is a totally different than the one on the record. the notes and rhythms are different, and she is using a pick here, while on the record she is slapping. i have the remastered version and it's pretty prominent on that. maybe it just doesn't sound like bass to you because of the high register overtones the slapping creates.
