I have the rc booster and love it; and I have a friend that has the mk 4.23 and loves it also. Although the rc adds some grit (which you may like considering that dr z is very clean) however, if I could go back I would get the creation audio labs mk 4.23 because it is crystal clear, clean, and adds no color whatsoever to your tone. So if u want clean, go mk. If u want semi-clean with some grit and color, go rc. Does this help?
GMD, I have a question that I feel you are the only one that can answer. I'm looking for an answer to get a good sound with hot les paul pickups into a Dr. Z route 66. I have a beano boost and am not sure it's doing the job, still voiced strangely with Les Paul Custom. Should I try this RC Booster since it has more tone dials? One problem I have with the Beano Boost is the fact that the radio stations come through when I dial back the volume
@brianendersmusic And with no boost straight into the route 66 there seems to be almost no high end, sounds like the tone dial on my Paul is all the way down
hey,im playing a 70';s fender strat,i like playing john mayer's stuffs, but i cant decide whether to go for the xotic rc booster or the keeley katana....any advice? thanks,oh btw im using a marshall class 5 amp
@greendayhall Actually. I have the katana keeley. You can use it for like a overdrive too. if you pull out the knob on the right. But you cannot control the eq on the pedal if you want to use it as an overdrive. But it does fatten up the sound a lot.
RC Booster... i really liked this pedal... of course i gotta test it... but, it sounds like the sound i'd like in my booster... Thanks for sharing!!! and probably you are bored about... buuut! you really sound like jack black! hahaha Thanks again, From Guatemala!
I run my Luther Drive with an RC booster in front and a BB preamp as well. My tone has never been so good. if you want extra sizzle the RC is the answer =)
Hello Mr. Black...if that's who you really are..if not, I like you anyway..lol
How about putting some pedals together and showing how to get different overall tones...like ...uh David Gilmours tone!! Can you get it with pedals folks can acutally buy new today? Can you get his tone with a Marshall amp???
I picked up the Limited Edition "Henderson" version a couple months ago. It is the one pedal I leave on almost all the time. It is really sweet. I set mine to raise the high end and lower the bottom just a touch (at 1 o'clock and 11 o'clock respectively). It adds that little bit of sparkle back to the tone. Highly recommended...
damn that was a sweet boost!!! u've done a lot of overdrive shootouts, u should put the rc booster rooster up against some of the other clean boost pedals in a tone showdown. perhaps the new tim and timmy pedals as clean boosts...food for thought...
is this good to crunch the guitar to do some good rockabilly licks? with my tape echo maybe ..

This against the Scott Henderson RC Booster or the new version
(The new version

FWIW, The RC & the Timmy together are a great combination. Sounds best after the Timmy though.

Gearmandude are you going to get that limited edition RC Booster Henderson by Xotic? Might be worth checking out before it becomes extinct.
