If you want to know if you killed someone, just do the mission briefing trick (PM me if you don't know what it is). You can't kill ANYONE. The only time you can "kill" someTHING is when you face robots and shit.

Probably not the best idea if you're going for a BBE speed run, but you could just listen to your iPod and regenerate your health at the beginning before taking on Raven (probably already knew that but lots of people here sound like they went in with only a fourth of their health after the bike chase).

Yes. You need to have the Solar Gun equipped at the end of part 2. If that doesn't work then save at the start of part 3, reload & you should have a full bar again. Failing that, put the PS3 system date forward a week.

''Previous'' is easier. ''Cycle'' requires you to replace weapons you don't want with weapons you do. E.g to equip in slot A, first select it in the weapon window. Then hold R2 until you locate the weapon you want to replace it with. Just release R2 when the new weapon of choice is displayed in the weapon window. Repeat the same procedure for slots B & C to set your ''Cycle''.

Hold L2 & press X to use a health Item. If you have a Ration selected & all of Snake's health is depleated then the Ration is automatically used to save from death. You can also select ''Previous'' & ''Cycle'' for the Items too.

Act 1: Frog Soldier Doll: Advent Palace Garage on the floor to your left.

You must collect all the Beauty figurines during the Beauty battles & within 3 minutes.

Act 2: Laughing Octopus Doll: Research Lab in the room to your right (based on start position from LO battle) on top of the bed.

Act 3: Raging Raven Doll: Top floor in the corner.

Act 4: Crying Wolf Doll: Just behind your starting position.

Act 5: Screaming Mantis Doll: In the north corridor.

Defeat all the bosses with a Stamina drain & complete the game. This includes the Frogs in Act 1. You need to use non-lethal weapons for both the Beast & Beauty forms, If done correctly, you should find a small replica doll nearby just after. Gain all 5 dolls & complete the game & the Solar Gun is yours. Send a message if you need to know the doll locations.

I still could need some kind of guide on how to get through areas safely and yet still fast enough to get the Emblem.

Your tactics for the first two areas in Act 1 are great, but a bit too risky for my taste.

No offense, it's just that I am still kind of a n00b.

I take safety over speed.

The Bike Chase is definitely the hardest part in the game in my opinion.

That is, if you aim for no kills and no recovery items used.

Especially the last part of it, even with the Solar Gun.

I died and had to retry many times.

And that was on Solid Normal (Yes, I got the FOX rank).

Doing that again on The Boss Extreme?!? *shivers*

I doubt that I'll be able to aim for the Big Boss rank anytime soon.

The BC-frustration at Solid Normal surely got me kinda scared... x.x

Did you have the Solar Gun equipped at the end of that section? If that doesn't work, then save at the new section (Riverside East) & reload. It should be fully recharged.

I didn't use any continues as that negates the BBE criteria. The Solar Gun doesn't get recharged in the 2nd section anyway. As you'll see in the vid. It did however, recharge in the 3rd section. It shouldn't matter if you save or not. It will automatically recharge at the start of the 3rd section (Riverside East) Read my info section too.

There is no way to get the Solar Gun on LE first. I doubt they will release a password for that either. With Stun Grenades, Mk.2 & the Mosin-Nagant you should be fine on TBE.

Save at every section. The game encourages it. This allows you to re-attempt a section if you fail & work on faster methods too. Saving at the start of the Frogs fight in Act 1 & 2 will add a total of 6 seconds. Which is nothing for your first BBE run.

Have many new saves. I'm not sure if you can have a save for every single area. You may have to overwrite some. That way if you plan to go through it again you can work on particular areas that need it.

Is it a New Game or Clear Game? Clear Game: If you have stocked up on all non-lethal ammo & weaponry in Act 5 on The Big Boss Hard then it will be considerably easier on your first attempt for the BBE. I would recommend re-using your last Big Boss Hard save. If not you should have some anyway. New Game: Stuns, Sleep Gas Mines (collected from the stairways) & the Mk.2 pistol should see you through safely. (The barrel located right in front of you as you exit the Safehouse contains 3 SGSs too)

Eh, I didn't stock up, I was too "in the moment" as I always get in that game..

But I can get a new game save.

Or I can just start from scratch on BBH, then stock up then (I got stealth and bandanna from my last playthrough which getting through would be a breeze)

I've decided too do both.. Have a new game for faster attempts, and do a BBH, because if I DO fail at BBE on my new game (which I most likely will) I'l have experience, and a newly fresh BBH too lay back on..

hi. Mosaicj, im doing this on BBE, but i have no solar gun or shotgun. I only have smoke and stun grenades, and an mk22 pistol.

It has been really hard but i have got to the last section. After you pass the two cars that flip over in slow motion, its really hard for me. my smoke grenades don't stop the frogs from shooting in time and theres too many to shoot with my pistol.

It's still possible. Shoot the barrels located near any of the Frogs. Use the Mk. 22 &/or Stuns for any other encounter. If you have any further problems with it then let me know.

i had the exact same thought, but when you pass the 2 cars, try to keep your life bar high, then you shoot frogs with the mk22 from both left and right, and throw stun grenades to large groups of frogs, including the final group, and hopefully you will reach raven, the key is to continue until you know the pattern and then you do it

you have to try to maintain your health as high as possible, and shoot the frogs, first from the right side and then from the left side, and then you will have to throw stun grenades to large groups of frogs running or waiting for you, just concentrate and throw stun grenades like crazy at the last segments, and also inject yourself with the syringe to recover stamina

No problem. Here's your answers:-

1) No. The barrels' blasts do not count as a kill. A bullet lands on the barrel & not on a body. Any weapon fired will need to reach one of the several hit boxes located on an enemy. In this instance, it doesn't.

2) No it doesn't. It's use is actually encouraged because of it. It isn't a requirement though.

3) Because I had to wait for the rest of the bikes to catch up & I needed to reload anyway. ;)

Only on a New Game run. You can kill Raven with just 1 head shot using the Railgun in a Clear Game. The gliders rarely pose any problem in the chase.

Thanks. I've actually managed to take down 1 more during that sequence on another attempt. If you aim at the head of the PMC at 2:56 & quickly fire 2 shots then 1 should hit him & the other will hit the 1 next to him. That way you don't have to fire the shot at him as soon as you land.
