@sendog70 I wish I had the fortune of being able to see my mother in her last days. Unfortunately, the last words she ever heard from me was that I never wanted anything to do with her. I never got to go to her funeral either, and to this day, my heart still laments that she died without knowing my true feelings. This song indeed is what I think of when my mother comes to mind. You are not alone in this, my friend.

This song always makes me cry.My dad had a 7th grade education & almost died in WW 2 before I was ever born.I remember all the times he lifted me on his shoulders so I wouldn't miss anything.Times he carried me when I was too tired to walk.He actually listened when I talked.Every night before bed we'd swing on the porch together, singing until I'd fall asleep in his lap.He was my first love and through his love I came to understand the love of a God that would not let me go.
