watch Charlie twirl his drumsticks- BOTH hands! yet he doesn't do it when he plays like a lot of show-off rock drummers- why? because Charlie's a REAL drummer, a swinger not some rock showoff bullshitter! yet Charlie can out-bullshit the best rock drummers if he wants!
Dayum, LUVIN this !! Would love to see the boys just blue-jam away like this nowadays (which a jazz-blues bassist like Darryl could most def. accommodate)!! Seen them 3-4 times in past 20 years and while they sounded great & are still among my faves, it all just seemed very "packaged". I realize times have changed & audience now mainly just wants to hear the old hits, but maybe try a brief blues jam on for size on next tour? I mean they could just fart onstage & get applause, so why not ??
This is an awesome high quality vid of a stellar blues JAM by the Stones at an awesome period in their career. If your not a Stones fan who cares, but why bash the Stones? As soon as you do that everyone just knows your crazy! Good luck having more success in the music industry than these guys.
@1954telecaster YOUR comment was the ignorant comment. People rehearse for a reason. Bill Wyman is only human, he IS allowed to make mistakes.
Just because this rehearsal made it to youtube 38 years later, doesn't mean it becomes anything else. It is still just a rehearsal. Enjoy it for what it is, and not what you want it to be.
And maybe next time you could actually FORMULATE AN ARGUMENT as apposed to just calling someone you disagree with ignorant.
@1954telecaster Again you continue to insult me without actually formulating an argument. I am a multi-instrumentalist and I play in a few ensembles, every musician has the occasional bad day.
I am a huge stones fan, but even I recognize that they are all ONLY HUMAN. That is why I can look past Bill Wyman's sloppy bass playing in this jam.
I can also look past Mick Jagger's vocals when the go off pitch, Keith Richard's often sloppy lead guitar, Charlie Watts' occasional sloppiness etc...
@oreldm Explain to me what is stupid about my comment.
I start off defending Bill Wyman against someone who thinks he should be shot because he was a little sloppy in a blues jam, and I start getting flamed.
I'm the one defending the fact that Rock and Roll can be a little sloppy.
I love the sound of Charlies drums...especially that snare drum..its got so much punch to it. Gretsch drums are fuckin sweet, so are the old ludwigs. Big fan of Buddy Rich's snare too.
somebody knows what is the name of this documentary one? the truth I want that it to lower by you plow and not it encounter. I am thankful for the information to them.
