  • This is not death, you wanna see the real version of death? Watch Soul Eater :D

  • That awkward moment were the final boss just comes outa no were with no rhyme or reason

  • I wonder if Final Fantasy would has an end, or if there is a chronological order between the games =D, I mean, that would be an epic storyline :3

  • @MDF091 , yaep , cuss , in dissidia is the same universe , and in kingdom hearts , ff characters are in, and besides , Gaia from FF IX has the same name of FF VII planet

  • @HeidanHart

Actually it's never really stated (from what I remember) what the name of the FF7 world is.

It's just referred to as "The Planet".

  • @XGiftedGamerX , in other media , like another versions of ff vii or art-books , the planet is called Gaia

  • @HeidanHart

As far as I'm aware FFVII and FFX are the only two games that take place in the same universe.

FFX is set in the way distant future on Spira after people left the planet to colonize other planets. It's in one of the ultimanias, I forget which one.

  • I always saw him as the incarnation of the darkness within the crystal. The part of the crystal that wants to end the life that it itself helps to maintain. It's like the crystal's repressed evil urges given life and power.

So, in order to prevent that part of the crystal's collective from growing too strong it must be dissipated. Which is what Zidane and the others did by defeated Necron.

  • @ZeldaFan2004 he actually was just watching over the universe when he noticed Kuja trying to end all life with the reason that if he cant live nobody can so Necron finally had a reason bring all to nothingness because humans only had a desire to destroy things and like he stated upon his death (just like Zeromus) as long as there are people, he will exist and that this was merely a setback for him.

  • It would appear Kuja didn't like not being the final boss.

  • I always believed that Necron was some bad ass residing somewhere in the depths of his own Zero World, in Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Ultimania they describe him as "a being awakened by Kuja's fear, despair, and hatred, which called out to it as he learned of his mortality, just as his ambitions were within reach." Also he appears after observing Kuja's murdering and comes to the conclusion that all life seeks death and the only way of giving life what it wants is to revert into the Zero World

  • @Disturber99 I'm not saying i'm correct or anything but i gotta say that Necron (if i'm somewhat right) is one badass motherfucker. Also when he dies he's like "i will always exist as long as there is life and death!" Which means he's still residing in that Zero World. I really hope that Square will bring him back in a future game. He'd be like "yo i'm back to finish what i started, no furry monkey, weird amphibian or loli kid is gonna stop me now!" Now that would be awesome.

  • @Disturber99 Regarding the crystal part it seems kinda weird that he would be formed from the crystal seeing as his objective is to destroy the crystal, when he destroys it then everything dies. I guess he himself seeks death or something and thus "fuses" with the crystal, but that wouldn't work either 'coz when he dies he dissipates and that would mean the crystal goes with him (thus the world dies) Hell i'm confusing myself abit here, this is all theories folks hope none of you rage at me now.

  • who has goosebumps when they hear this

  • this was tabuu's insperation

  • Before last parts of FF9 I was like: "pretty good but I still like FF7 more" and after the end I was like "THIS IS THE GREATEST GAME IN THE F*CKING WORLDDDDD AAAAAAAAA!!!! FCK FF7!!" :D

  • Pretty surprising he came out of nowhere...

  • @LargeFG7777 true but there was a reason why he came out of nowhere. if you read one of the final fantasy IX books or whatever, it mentions that necron is a symbol of kuja's negative emotions. so to sum it up on how he was reborn, when kuja was 'bout to lose, he used his ultimate move to end everything but because his negative emotions overwhelmed him and thus destroying the crystal itself created necron.

  • "Pain. Suffering. Death, I feel." - Yoda

  • I just always kinda thought Necron was the crystal, I mean he looks like a Crystal in the shape of some Muscle-Head, plus, the rings around Necron are the same rings around the Crystal in the background during the fight with Kuja.

  • lol I bet for the begging of this, like 10 people where all crammed in a sound booth awkwardly moaning...

  • @Epicus005 Too... much ... curry ... damn you, Squaresoft catering staff ...

  • stop critizing necron just enjoy his song which KICKS ASS

  • Necron is the Iifa Tree. Its purpose was to stop the cycle of souls. The Mist was created by leaking the suffering of trapped souls. Destroying the tree stopped the mist, but Necron was still blocking souls. The party died to Ultima, their souls entered the cycle, they found Iifa's true form, which is fitting since it and Kuja were both Garland's creations. Kuja was meant to speed the cycle through mass slaughter, while Necron contained them so Garland would be free to use Gaia to recreate Terra

  • @TheBaron87YT nope that theory is wrong

  • @krat0s9001 And how do you get to this conclusion?

  • *spoiler* i was omfg OMFG F F F F when zidane got crushed by that plant and i then some how expected the rest of the film!

  • @ZiggyTrainer Sooo you're saying you don't think final bosses should be the main antagonist...? lolwut?

Also... necron isn't any of what you described, he's effectively the embodiment of all the opposites of what Kuja was fighting for. Or just a random giant space flea, to me he was a space flea, i was 8, as if i could understand the above concept at 8 >_>

  • If there was a live action movie of FFIX, I picture Tony Todd as Necron.

  • Necron came from the Interdimensional Rift which is apparently apart of all the of the Final Fantasy Universes. The power of the Rift is powered by the Void which is created by Enuo - which results in Necron either being a part of Enuo or a formation of Exdeath.

  • @Tariffs He is likely just another spawn of the Void, like the many you fight while inside of the Void in FFV, but I wouldn't doubt that he is something created by Enuo.

  • @ZiggyTrainer Which Necron is not. Necron is not Kuja.

  • Kefka: There's nothing like the sound of hundreds of voices screaming in unison.

  • Necrom: final boss of Final Fantasy 9, who apparently appears out of nowhere and after the battle no one mentions him again.

You know where this is going.

    A BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT!

  • i win for this boss for level 60

    it's very Difficult boss

  • @himoud24 I just fought him today at lv 50-53. He used blue shockwave, then blizzaga on my whole team, then killed me with grand cross.

  • @FEZeldalord12345 really? i was lvl 65 and when he did grand cross it just said guard on everybody in my party

    0_0

  • @himoud24 , well , i spend tons of hours finding the best equip , and ragnarok and ultima weapon, and necron and kuja were too east , now am thinking id shouldn't do that and make necron a hardcore boss

  • @HeidanHart Oh GOD. You don't even know the pain of facing this guy unprepared! D: I just beat him today, and Steiner only had Ultima Sword, and Zidane The Tower. They were all level 45 about, but Vivi was useless because of Shell, so I had to use an underleveled 34 Freya. I eventually got Zidane to hit Trance though, and Grand Lethal'd the bastard 4-5 times and took him down. That Grand Cross though... it can devastate. xD You should replay without ultimate stuff and witness the horror. xD

  • @MetalRock7777 , well i never saw though that

  • @MetalRock7777 i can sympathize, whole party was underleveled and best weapon i had for any1 was The Tower. barly got out of that fight with a last ditch all or nothing atk from zidane and the only thing that saved me was the passive status resistances and dumb luck. i cant even imagine fighting him without every status immunity turned on

  • @MetalRock7777 You are totally right!!! First time I faced him I got totally wiped out, never thought he could be such a pain in the ass...though he's one of the easiest bosses when you're fully prepared! And the theme song is so awesome!

  • "I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened."

    ―Obi-Wan Kenobi.

  • @fancyshoes002 You sir win the galaxy far far a way's internet.

  • @fancyshoes002 dude that was yoda saying that

  • @illidan1333 Googled it. It was Kenobi.

  • What if Necron and Giygas fought in a battle? They both have disturbing battle music, are both demon-like in both appearance and intentions, and, well, you get the idea. Who would win such a battle?

  • @Recruit173 Ness.

  • @Recruit173 There would be no winner. At the end of the battle, there would only be...

    Absolute void of existence!

  • There's nothing like the voices of a thousand people, screaming in unison!

  • Epic fucking discussion here guys.

I think you've got it. Necron is the absolute big bad of the entire Final Fantasy universe. He embodies the antithesis of everything heroes across the years have fought for.

He and Kefka would get along pretty well. Shame he's a paradox... If he embodies nonexistence, how can he possibly exist? Oh well, who honestly gives a shit? Last truly good FF imo.

  • Necron = Possible true villain of all Final Fantasy games?

Kinda makes sense if you think about it.

Cause everyone is fighting over many things but life it self is the true thing they seek.

Necron is the god of death so to speak and he is most likley watching over the universe.

And Kuja's fight for life was so great that Necron appeared to end it.

    = Mind blown!

  • @ZeldaLinkGanonfan300 Necron is the physical embodyment of non-existance. zidanes party were fighting for the right to live as was kuja, however both couldn't survive thus, came necron.

  • @fare777 I see.

  • @ZeldaLinkGanonfan300 I thought Necron was released and appeared because of Kuja destroying the crystal, not his will to live?

  • @IidoTheFox

    I really don't remember anymore.

  • @ZeldaLinkGanonfan300 AND he said he was immortal and he would appear again, and in ff10 sin was presented! MAYBE sin IS a reincarnation of necron!!!

  • @4realthegamer2

    Perhaps.

    Hmmm....

  • @ZeldaLinkGanonfan300 there's alot of lore based easter eggs in FF games that sigests that alot of the FF worlds are connected and that some characters have passed between the worlds....like gilgamesh in ff8 when odins sword tore open a hole in space-time and gilgamesh fell out of the hole

  • @VictorVonFox

    Yeah.

  • @ZeldaLinkGanonfan300 I think Necron is death itself.

Kuja killed the party at the end with ultima, so the party fought necron to stay alive.

  • @ZeldaLinkGanonfan300 Pretty anticlimactic to find out that death is actually kind of a pussy. D:

  • FF9needed a big ending, even if it came out of nowhere;it really was the last game in the series true to it.In what took place you were bound to fight something greater&more chaotically destructive than Kuja. The FFseries didn't die w/out 1 hell of a killer final boss.Necron didn't need a back story but the story leading up to it-it was the essence of an ultimate end to everything.Gotta love how it said in the end"This is not the end. I am eternal..As long as there is life and death" 2:03-2:35 FTW

  • Who cares about rationalizing it...Necron is just chaotically, decimatingly bad-ass..

  • what-level-is-he

  • @bakuganfangirl67 OVER 9000!!!!!!

  • necron is a little like zeromus but not hatred, this is the fear and despair version

  • 1: play first 1:00 or so of this song on a constant loop

2: read a bunch of horror stories for an hour

    3:do this at like 12:00 M

    4: Try and sleep

  • hy do i hear wolves howling in the distance?

  • what-the-HECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HOLY CRAP!!! IT'S TABUU'S DAD!!!

  • You're all still wrong; Necron is Soulcage. Pay more attention.

  • @FighterMcFlavio no you're wrong square gave us the info in the Ultimania.

  • a shock a day keeps necron away <3 steiner

  • Necron was awakened by Kuja's fear, despair, and hatred, which called out to it as he learned of his mortality, just as his ambitions were within reach. In a way, Kuja created Necron. So no, Necron is not random. If you were true fan of Final Fantasy 9 you would know this. xD

  • Necron does not look like Tabuu. At all.

  • TABUU! WAS STOLEN FROM SQUARE?

  • I must say that the beginning of this theme is very nice, although, imo, the rest of it is a bit generic.

  • @Ziforb Agreed 100% Glad to hear someone finally shares the same ear I do ;)

  • @Ziforb Agreed 100% Glad to find someone who shares the same opinion as I on this song.

  • It's the theme of the Zombies! It's quite nice!

  • Regardless of the hate this boss fight gets for being too "random" it is still my favorite final boss theme.

  • VII,s final boss theme was scary

VII,s final boss theme was upbeat

    IX,s was both

  • OMG tabuu is now invading the final fantasy world?!

sounds like there´s some highschool orgy in the background o_O

    btw...Necron...the embodiment of non existence?

is this the result of kefka´s monument to non-existence? XD

  • @adarkerlink

Don't you mean Necron is invading SSBB? Since, you know... IX came out before Brawl.

  • @Nesaru ah,true xD,thanks for pointing that out :D

  • This song is in Dissidia 012 xD

  • there is an orgasm happening in this song

  • I actually figured out why Necron makes sense and isn't a giant space flea from no where.

Kuja is fighting for his right to exist. However, Zidane's party is also fighting for the right to exist. Now, thematic end-battles are big in Final Fantasy - therefore, it doesn't make sense to thematically fight for existence against someone who's fighting for the same thing.

Therefore: Necron, the embodiment of non-existence.

    BOOM. Rationalized.

  • @emazinglyemi Kujas reason for destroying the crystal was he didnt believe the world deserved to exist without him though wasnt it? i may be wrong but i also thought Necron was more of a Lord Of The Underworld kinda thing and after Kuja fucks the shit out your team with Ultima the battle with Necron symbolises the teams strong desire to live.

like i said i might be wrong

  • @gutturaldissonance Necron was awakened by Kuja's fear of death

  • @emazinglyemi I think the whole Crystal being destroyed deal is a better rationalisation.

  • @emazinglyemi nice job!!

for a final fantasy game this makes perfect since

and your right it was a pretty epic battle!!

  • @emazinglyemi

Actually, Kuja planned to destroy all existence because he doesn't find it fair for the world to exist without him. I believe Necron is some sort of embodiment of death that wishes to have all life eradicated, believing that is what life seeks, to live in a world of death and lifelessness. Also, Square Enix confirmed that the battle with Necron is a thematic battle between life and death.

  • @emazinglyemi Kuja isn't fighting for his right to existence at this point, he's fighting to destroy everything in existence, because he thinks that if he has to die, the entire world should die with him...

  • @emazinglyemi lol tv tropes

  • @emazinglyemi Actually, if we take his name into account, Necron is the embodiment of death, and everyone's fighting for the right to live.

  • @MANJYOMETHUNDER111 As I recall, Necron was an entity that existed to 'Bring Existance back to the 'zero world' where there was absolutely nothing. As Kuja had reached the crystal, the source of existance and was going to destroy it, that was Necron's cue to jump in and go; "Game over, guys!" And eradicate everything.

'Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. The only cure for this is total annihilation' I believe are his words.

  • @kryenarl What greater non-existence is there than death?

  • @emazinglyemi You are a genius

  • @emazinglyemi mind=BLOWN.

  • @emazinglyemi But because Necron exists (since he appears as a sentient being) then wouldn't that render him an oxymoron?

  • @emazinglyemi i now realize that Kefka will build a monument to Necron

  • @emazinglyemi true, the reason necron showed up is because he realized that when kuja tried to destroy the crystal, humans are nothing then destruction and pain so he was to bring everything to an end

  • @emazinglyemi holy shit that makes sense

  • @emazinglyemi +1 internets for you good sir for rationalizing necrons seemingly random appearance.

  • Comment removed

  • @emazinglyemi well didnt kuja damage or destroy the crystal when he did ultima, the crystal was the source of life so necron appears because he is death itself or whatever

  • @shimeonmorpheus no he just killed the party.

  • @krat0s9001 lol he lost control and the crystal is like 10 feet away from us. how could it not hit it

  • @shimeonmorpheus I don't know but he did say that he gonna take the party with him.

  • @emazinglyemi Necron means death, so yeah.

  • @emazinglyemi

    Deadpool: CONTINUITY, BOOM!

  • @emazinglyemi claps good job man i've always thought it cuz he embody the death of the crystal

  • AHHHHHH! IT'S FLYING ZILA!!!!!!

  • For the 1,000,000th time Necron is a being that was AWAKENED by Kuja's fear of death.

  • @krat0s9001 Thaaank you! Necron has ALWAYS been there... he's essentially the God of Death. Life being destroyed? His job. Kuja wanted to destroy all life via the crystal, which awakened Necron. No one knew that this would be how life would end though, aka via Necron.

  • @krat0s9001 no actually he was always there watching humanity looking for a good reaso to return everything to nothingness, kuja's act to destroy the crystal was a good reason of selfishness and proved necrons point of humans only wanting to destroy

  • is it just me or does i hear screams ?? :O

  • looks like some sort of alien bouncer

  • man those moaning voice in the beginning really disturbing

  • nice angel wings Necron.

  • Lame villain, awesome music.

  • ex-death disliked this video for copyright reasons

  • Even if the 'morrow is barren of promises, Nothing shall forestall my return.

  • brb,shitting blocks

  • creepy but enjoyable

  • FFIX needs a remake JUST so they can fix the writing regarding Necron. At least have some forshadowing/mention of him during the game. Even some vague hints about the crystal would be better than "OKAY WE DEFEATED THE ANTAGONIST" "I AM THE GOD OF DEATH" "What the fuck"

  • @Burninghay Uhhhhh...No.

  • a shick a day keeps necron away ah gotta love steiner

  • 0:00-1:20 is what i call the buffing/preparing part of the battle.

  • HEY ITS TABUU!

  • @revosaurus lollolololollololololololol

  • @revosaurus either way they are both epic :D

  • @revosaurus It's Dr. Manhatahn

  • Indeed this boss was not as cool as Trance Kuja, BUT he does some pretty freaking awesome theme music XD

  • i played and FINALLY beat trance kuja.and i was like "OMG FINALLY OVER.YAY I WON!!!!"

and then necron comes and pwns me with his grand cross.

"i just beat the fucking game and this is what i get?i gotta beat THE GOD OF DEATH now?"

    not fair.

  • I must say, I really didn't like the whole Necron idea. I mean, he's not mentioned in the game once, except as a process of the Lifa Tree that manages souls and whatnot. Why does he become the last boss? It's like, "Yeah! Awesome I beat Kuja! I saved the universe!" and then GOD comes out of nowhere to kick your asses. (Yes, I know he's not god, but look at him. For real.) Anyway, I don't think he should be the last boss. He wasn't even hard. Didn't even need any characters past level 70...

  • @zarlock3 He is the last boss since you DIE. It's not that you beat Kuja (ok you did) but he took you out with him.

The artbook for FF9 calls the Necron fight a Physicial manifistation of the party's will to live and to fight off death.

  • @Junkaccoutiam Oh wow, i never thought of it that way. That's pretty amazing :D

  • @Junkaccoutiam The party doesnt die. IF you remember Kuja teleports them out once they directly defeat necron. Of course they wouldnt know they were teleported if they were Practically Dead. Kuja cant teleport peoples minds away from death smart guy. he did their bodies, while they were alive and moving fighting necron

  • @matser08 It kinda is a bit of a mystery though. After Kuja casts Ultima, the party's bodies disappear, whereas Kuja is knocked away from the impact. There are a lot of theories to suggest that they did die. I myself don't really know what happened, but I reckon they were on the verge of death, and Necron teleported them away. I think it was the Iifa Tree's true form, and after it's defeat, Kuja teleported them all to safety.

  • @rissole25 Oh, I need to make a post so big just to say you're wrong as well.

The official ARTBOOK said that the fight against Necron was a symbolizism of the party's will to live and fight death off.

Finally "smart guy", you can not say that their soul's cant fight while dead. Infact, your party can't fight Necron when they first see him. Four of them needs to give up what little spirit they had for the other four to even have a chance.

  • @Junkaccoutiam Um wtf? I was stating MY opinion on the matter? I take into consideration what the Ultimania and other sources say and I make up MY mind on the matter. That's like saying X and VII are in the same universe because of a small easter egg in X-2, which I think is stupid and don't think is canon. Again that's MY opinion on it.

And what is with "smart guy" anyway? Even if I'm wrong, there's no need to have a go at me for commenting what I think.

  • @matser08 No, if YOU remember, Kuja teleports the part members and himself out of Memoria, NOT the Hill of Despair.

Kuja did teleport thier bodies. What do you think happens in video games when they beat death? Thier souls instantly go back to thier body unless the game demands otherwise. Also GASP! A ghost can not fight? I wonder why Final Fantasy 9 has a few ghosts that can fight then.

  • I only won because Kuja got all my party members near trance...even then it took me a good hour worth of tries *locks self in room in fear of mockery*

  • Yeah Necron deff likes cat orgies

  • The beginning of this song gives me the creeps *shudder*

All those moans and weird noises *gulp* it sounds like people are getting murdered O.o

  • He reminds me of the though of a creature that embodies nothingness or fear itself because he talks about there's no life or death just fear or something along that line.

  • god i hate this guy. i beat only one time and that was pure luck. everyone dead exept zidane. he had only around 500 hp left. i just attacked him and, he died. i shit my pants, i actually beat him.

  • the moaning turns me on

  • @xmisogyny Gay.

  • @MrToezteh

    Whatever nigga

  • @xmisogyny lol.

  • Is this song in Dissidia?! This would be an awesome track to kick ass to.

  • as someone poset down there, i noticed there's somewhat a similiance with bosses and hystory of ff's... ff5 is like the one where everything started, since gilgamesh ended up in ff8 world and necron in ff9... well.. something stinks... playing dissidia, you may know that garland was controlling chaos thanks to the "supreme will" or something like that... now... i guess every ff is collegated each other somewhat...
