How do we avoid click fraud on our sites ?

I see that some people's accounts are being disabled for click fraud , possibly done

by competitors.

So I checked my "placement ad targeting type performance" and it is only a smidgen amount smaller than the contextual type. I take it this means that advertisers are purposefully choosing me "by name" to show their ads? I wonder if this fact would be useful to appeal an account disablement. I'm in god standing and all, but there are countless people who've been disabled and have no idea why. I love this channel!

biggest problem i see with google is that the right hand doesn't talk to the left. If you watch any of the google videos on SEO and such, they never know what the other side is doing. I predict that if they continue on this path, they'll end up like microsoft products... someone will swoop in who can function as a company that can communicate their vision through out the company and google will be lost. They are a giant and can't maneuver quickly.

You do have to have a good amount of traffic but Google doesn't really let you know what that amount is. All of my videos reached over 1000 views and they let me put ads on my vids but my wife only has one video with over 1000 views and hers made it with only 4 subscribers! @benarddor

I agree 100% with the notion that you can't just rely on google adsense. There are a LOT of bloggers that have found themselves in a world of hurt because they only had adsense as their main revenue stream. Google apparently likes to axe people with no rhyme or reason (typically right before a payout) so be sure you are NOT using ONLY google for your revenue stream.

I'm not interested in making money from YouTube, but I have no problem at all with ads on the site, or appearing on my videos. But there are certain ads that appear on my videos that are completely opposed to my own world-view. I guess that they are placed there on the contextual model. Is it possible for me to have certain types ads removed from my videos if I don't approve of them?

@jjasso5 I turned the interest based ads off. I'd rather the ads be relevant to my site than sites my visitors were frequenting. Join affiliate networks like CJ, Shareasale, and Linkshare to find products related to your site.

Hey Lisa, thank you for this video. Ad-sense and making money online is not my primary focal point at this time. However, periodically I check my ad-sense account and I am pleasantly surprised by my earnings. I don't get a lot of clicks but I have had days where I get one click and earn $2.00 or $3.00. It seems since I have added channels my earnings per click are really good especially considering I added ad-sense simply to gradually learn how to use it on my site. Thanks for your advice.

Yeah, I think Panda is definitely going after thin , low quality content affiliate sites and sites with duplicate content ,and, of course, other stuff we don't known about. And I personally don't read or trust much of what Matt Cutt says, either. Like he really wants us to win. I think not.

The panda update didn't affect me. They can through any update they want. I have a formula that's been working for 12 years. One thing I have never done is pay attention to what the search team says, because what they are telling you and the search results are, are completely different. I know what works and what doesn't. Content is no longer king, authority is.

I agree, Adsense should not be your #1 source of income. I hardly use it, it's #3 for me.

@thereplygirlsreviews Good for you! That means advertisers like your channel. These algorithm updates I'm referring too largely impact the organic Google.com search results. Not saying it will never affect YouTube negatively but the fluctuations are usually seen more in the Google search results. Having said that, read the article in the description and I offer 5 ways of diversifying your traffic.

@PAULANEALMOONEY15 It varies by site. Remember this was just in general. For example the 160x600 performed horribly on 2createawebsite yet it's still a top earner overall. So it definitely will depend on the site.
