(Google this up if you dont believe me) but NATURAL sunlight (obviously not too much) is the BEST light a plant can get. Sure, one can make the SAME combinations of light colour spectrum in different stages of growth with halides and hps etc but in my experience in holland (Im dutch) plants simply "feel right" when under normal sunshine and "feeling right" in a good summer they can become giants. Sure, a bad summer, too much rain, not enough, a heatwave can be shit, but a good summer =GIANTS!!

@janweltevreden Of course disease, discovery,predation,a bad summer or whatever CAN decimate your crop, but you can grow 20 times the number outdoors that you can grow indoors so sheer numbers WILL win. Also, outside there are no huge electricity bills. Germinate seeds indoors around mid april, and slowly expose the growing shoots to the outside climate in ever lengthening time exposures (this is UNBELIEVABLY IMPORTANT!!!) so they'll survive outside, then transplant late may - 1st of june!
