I was in a club display down towards the bottom end and watched this from the stands. Good to see Muscat walked away from this. Shame about his immaculate r100 though :(
there was a major problme with the track, 6 straight days of torential rain was the track get soaked, but in another way, the water actually sat between the layers of rubber, so when it got hotter the water sweated out of the track and get wet again, they tried for 2.5 hours to dry the track but to no avail. so the event got cancelled
this wasnt because the car was short wheelbased, it was because there was water on the track. If it were a wheelbase problem it wouldve been sketch right off the line, as you can see in the video, he was tracking pretty straight whehn he crashed.
Why??? There is nothing wrong with short wheel base cars. The problem was from a bleeding track. If you look at the clip you will see that the car is running pretty true and straight. You can blame Ray Box for that crash, he knew the track wasn't stable yet he still started the event. After the crash he stopped the event but not without making everyone wait for another three hours before he canceled....Why? Because he had to make it more worthwhile for the food venders.
i wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy, sucks seeing a guys pride and joy go over like this! hopefully some of that work is salvagable for another build.
good videoing

ANDRA cannot ban short wheel based cars from Jamboree. This is not an ANDRA event.

As the saying goes... "If you can't afford to break it, you can't afford to race it". Still a shame though, it looked like a tidy car.
