I cant believe this. My sons Grandma (from Sumpter, SC) gave me this recipe after she baked this cake for her 55 wedding anniversary. I absolutely adore this cake. It is so moist. ...I forgot to add...before i made this cake, I read the comments n someone said it was too sweet for her taste...so taking this into consideration, I used salted butter instead of unsalted to take the edge off the sugar...Girl, I told a friend of mine I was going 2 bake a cake n 2 mac n cheeses using recipes so when I was done I dropped some of the cake n the macs to her n chil' she's asking for more. she said girl give me the recipes for that lady's cake and her mac n cheeses...I said ok.

So I made the cake... and I guess my bundt cake pan was a tad bit to small it baked higher than the pan. It looked weird when it finished cooking. Then I wanted to know the importance of cooling the cake on the wire rack?

I remember my great grand mother making pound cake, she would sift the flour, measure everything precisely and beat the batter by hand, all up until she was 95. I miss my Nana.
