I went down to the scene and we set up headquarters at 75 Barkley Street, which was right there with the police commissioner, the fire commissioner, the head of emergency management, and we were operating out of there when we were told that the World Trade Center was going to collapse.
”I thought, Somebody’s got to tell the Fire Department to get out of there,” Loizeaux told me. “I picked up the phone, dialled 411, got the number, and tried it–busy. So I called the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management”–which was in 7 World Trade. “All circuits were busy. I couldn’t get through.”
To our knowledge, none of the [fire] chiefs present believed that a total collapse of either tower was possible. [9/11 Commission Report]
But right before the south tower collapsed, I noticed a lot of people just left the lobby, and I heard we had a crew of all different people, high-level people in government, everybody was gone, almost like they had information that we didn't have. [Joseph Pfeifer, Battalion Chief (F.D.N.Y.)]
Rudy was a corrupt politician who tried to further his career by climbing a mountain of corpses, many of whom died because of his incompetence and dirty dealings.
Everytime he bragged about 9/11 with a smile on his face, I hoped someone would knock out his probably false death, and wished he was in prison for his actions.
9/11 was the greatest thing to ever happen to Rudy. If he had to do it all over again, I think he'd let the planes hit the WTC as he became a "hero" to some nitwits because of it.
(At least Rudy wasn't stuck in a chair reading a book about goats like GWB was.)
i disagree.. rudy lead great during 911 he had morale up and cleaning/reconstruction done within months.. dosnt matter where he put his personal command center because he led just as good on the streets as he would in his much NeedEd "command center"

On 9-11 day, Rudy knew well in advance WTC-7 was going to collapse and so vacated his office to save his life. Any problem with that ?
The previous night he was with Ehud Olmert in NY. Any problem with that ?
