Yeah. these have been "coming soon" on the Big City music site for something like 2 years now? People will respond to realistic challenges with producing a good product, but you have to be straight with them. Too bad.
@JunkDogKeys If you want something amazing, it helps to be persistent. We got a few in last month, but they went out the door immediately. If you really want one, check in with us from time to time. We should have a few more soon. :-)
Well, amazing what can happen in 1 wk! Mine finally arrived. Note that it comes with a 12V dc adaptor, but it's missing the cord from the convertor part of the adaptor to the wall socket. I had a cord that would fit, but you may need to visit Radio Shack. I haven't sampled all the sounds yet, but the ones I have listened too are just as expected. Markus packed everything very well. Based on my wait and someone's comments here, expect ~6 mo turn around. Well worth the wait. But be patient.
Paid for mine in early May, and was promised a June delivery date. Nothing but delays and excuses since then. Markus would do himself a great favor if he quoted realistic delivery times. I've been patient and haven't pestered Markus with emails. When he quotes "I'll ship it in two weeks", I usually wait 1-2 months before following up. The last quote was that he would ship it in a week. That was a week ago. Still waiting for tracking number.
Mine is here and working appropriately...all software installed. It's been a hard journey, but it is better than no TRON at all. I'm grateful to Markus for making my dream a reality...cause there is no way I can afford $12,000 for the Streetly version, as much as I would love one.
I ordered in December, from the second production batch, and a delivery date in March was delayed until May because of availablilty problems with an externally made component. Markus has personally answered my e-mails within 24 hours and now assures me all is on course for a mid-May delivery. I paid by bank transfer which he suggested (as I won't use PayPal), and confirmed receipt within a few hours of my bank sending off the transfer. I think Markus may be undeservedly getting a bad press.
@madlove1927 Yes, I am sure we will be getting a healthy supply eventually. I will be happy to notify you when they come in. Please just go to our website and email us about it. Thank you!
Does anyone know what's going on with these? I ordered and paid for mine in August of last year and was promised delivery by November. I have not heard a word since then and have not received any answer to emails.
If anyone knows what's going on with these I would deeply appreciate any information! Thank you
@skjmmsk The closest sound to that 10cc chorus sound is the Birotron choir. Listen to the very end of Future Times / Rejoice from Yes Tormato and for a few seconds you'll hear the ghostly Birotron choir - which is very similar because of the tape loop system. Failing that - the Orchestron choir might do although the Orchestron choir is not as clean because the sound is from a light scanned optical disk system.
@nx01craig How's it working? I ordered through Big City and they've indicated that stock is being held by Markus for software problems. Any idea what they are and are you experiencing any issues?
@READYdot Not only is it 24 bit digital sampled rompler, but =every= note has been sampled for a full eight seconds (very important to the mellotron sound).
@crazyforfood I was not certain what I might think of the M4000D since we sell the magnetic tape Mellotron. The M4000D is truly drool-worthy and far more fun than I expected. The wooden keys are a full 17" long as they are in the tape Mellotron, so the depth of this baby is not just for show. The sharps are real ebony! Vintage machines used plastic.
This beta version has 12 sounds, but the final production M4000D will have around 99 sounds, which is the equivalent of 33 tape frames!
It's on my wish list for christmas but I doubt that Santa will bring me one.

If this machine could not reproduct "10cc's I'm not in love" chorus sounds,it would be useless. I hope it would.

Nice, but I'd like to hear more of those choir sounds, especially with some pitch changes.
duranfelipe 1 year ago
ah, please could you do a quick video demo featuring the pitch change?

Don't get me wrong, but this actually is a rompler with a damn sexy enclosure, but it is just a rompler, not more not less...
