  • my speakers cannot take more than a third of the amp volume without distorting :c

  • im using a denon amp, it is quite powerful lol

  • @MrShoreman1 - hmm, think these speakers are rated at something like 150w RMS, However I use a NAD amp putting out just 50w RMS and 150w peaks. I think anything more would blow my speakers as they really get moving. tbh I think my tweeters are half gone too, they're no where near as vibrant as they once were. Hope you get your 908s repaired though!

  • @christopher4636 check my vids dude, i got wharfedales hooked up too, not loud because didnt know if sound would distort when recording through crap camera

  • got the 908s myself, just blown a tweeter though :/

  • @MrShoreman1 - very nice speakers, but how did you manage to blow the tweeter? What power amp you using for them?

  • getting these soon i hope!

played this song from a DTS CD on my mordaunt short avianos...

sounds so damn good, its so full and energized dont know how to explain you have to hear it. amazing speakers, hope to get the 309i subwoofer to.

  • @Frietpan - the 309i is a fantastic sub and is essential for full bodied, realistic sound reproduction. Before i got my 309i I just had the two floor standing speakers which are rated as being 'full range' but like any other floor standing speakers they can't reproduce bass effectively without introducing interference to the midrange. With a good quality sub you get those nice deep low notes which add so much to your music. Worth every penny

  • @christopher4636

i need a sub anyway or a new amplifier cause my current amp has a built in and fixed crossover.

  • @Frietpan - ahh yes you don't want an amp with a fixed build in crossover as you could end up missing out huge bands of frequencies when you use speakers which also contain another passive crossover.

  • @christopher4636

now got a pair of 904i as fronts

a pair of aviano 1's and a new yamaha amp.

using my old sub saving for the ms sub and center.

but it already sounds so nice!

  • @Frietpan - a very nice setup you have their, perfect choice and arrangement of speakers too. I also personally prefer floor stranding speakers as fronts. Would be great to see a video of it!!

  • @christopher4636

i'm now waiting for the 905i center speaker to arive, than clean up my shit haha than il make a video

  • А ааа!!! Зачет! Круто!

У самого эта парочка Mordaunt short Avant 906i

    и ресивер pioneer vsx-d510 !

    => xoaxial -> foobar2000 (1.1.5) - > KS creative X-Fi

при выводе звука через creative ASIO не воспроизводит 24/96 =(

А вообще, колоночки очень и очень отличные!!!

  • Lol why did you stop filming when the part of song that actually matters started...

  • Foobar 2000...nice

  • @wonedad23 - cheers, one of very few programs which gives you more control over your music.

  • you can fill em with sand ha?

    for the bass?

  • do you need a sub with that speakers ?isn't their bass ebough ?

  • @xSlavic - short answer = no, i like the music to be reproduced with the level of bass that it was intended to have, which generally can't even be created with 'just' my floorstanders.

longer answer = also my full range floor standing speakers were in a very small room yet the focul point of the bass appears to be about 3-4m back from the speakers, so used an old sub to help compensate.

  • @christopher4636 if you got a smaller room you can fill these speakrs with audiosand to make the bass tighter

but yes you need a sub

  • @melenmike - this is a very old video, now i use them in my large living room with the matching Mordaunt short avant 309i sub. However yes if i was ever to use them in a small room again i might consider using sand.

  • Matando mosca com canhão!!!!!!

  • what software is that?

  • @axmatt - Foobar2000, great open source media player, plays lots of audio formats and gives you proper control over the gain of your music so nothing ever gets distorted. Very customizable too :P You should check it out.

  • @bigmackburger - song name was in video description, 'Money for Nothing' by Dire Straits

  • @christopher4636 - oh sorry about that, I didn't see it. Well anyways, great vid! i love the song and the speakers! 5*

  • then i should take Mordaunt short 906i speakers.

have any friends of you ,are using jamo s506?

  • sorry, I don't know anyone with the jamo s506's, so i can't comment on how they will sound relative to those...

  • what is your comment for this speaker?

  • you mean what is my opinion? I love them, they have detail and clarity that most other speakers in this price range could only dream of!! They do have quite a clean sounds to them but that suits me as i use them for home cinema too. However you have to be careful what you pair these speakers with, they are rather 'bright' at high freq. So never pair them with an equally 'bright' amp like cambridge audio, so I used a NAD amp and they sounds perfect to me.

  • Nice speakers, but place them more from the wall and it will increase your bass quality.

Im having the 912's, the small brothers of the 906's. Place them 100cm from the ground and 20cm from the wall. Just great sound for a great price!

  • Indeed this was just a temporary setup in my old flat, the speakers are now a little better placed, but not perfect.

Do you meant the 902's? the 912's don't exist yet.

(the 902's are the bookshelf speakers of the avant 900 series)

  • Ok, and yes I mean the 912 bookshelf speakersi have. The are taken out of production for a couple of years, i don't understand why. These speakers are having some better specs then the 902's. Check google, by searching for 912 specs, so you can compare.

    Enjoy your music!

  • if you dont know this song . you listen to to much rap (i mean crap) the buttrocker

  • hahaha, indeed...but I'm always happy to introduce people to the wonders of the Dire Straits :)

  • dude you are using a logitech z2300's sub for the demo !~~~!! care to mention that ???

  • haha, that sub wasn't turned on, the crap little logitech satellite speakers were turned on to make it a little louder and wake up my flatmates, but I barely ever turn up that sub, sounds like my ass!! lol

  • can you tell song name?

  • Dire Straits - Money for nothing

  • I have 4x the 908.

Can't get any better for this price!

  • Nice, you should make a video of them!!!

  • how good is the speaker?

  • Nice setup. I used to have mordaunt short bookshelf speakers in the same colour.

  • well i got them now you were right they do lack the base the technic ones had but the sound is more punchy and crisp. i have them with a set of b&w dm303 for surround. not sure they look right next to the tv now lol, thanks for your input btw

  • ooo nice set up you have there, with a sub that'd be a perfect...

no problem mate, anytime, let me know how you get on with them. :D

  • I currently have some technic sb ex3's which i have had for 14 years, the bass sounds great on them in films, im just hoping the bass is as good as on those. What is worrying me is the lack of width on the speaker, whether or not it can produce good bass, i know the treble is surperb on them tho

  • oh and my amp is the denon avr1906

  • The 906i's will be a huge improvement on fidelity and depth. Yeah the speakers aren't that wide but the they do have a reasonable volume cabinet and two well tuned ports. and paired with that amp that should sound sweet. The bass on these will sound very tight compared to your technics but may not have as much of a boomy effect. If you feel that something is missing you could always run your old speakers too from that nice amp. Let me know how you find em.

  • I just bought a pair to go next to my tv for watching films, what is the bass like on them? as i like bass

  • you'll love these speakers, they're amazing, and loads of people use them for a home cinema set up. What amp are you gonna use to drive em?

The bass is pretty good, but I'd recomend getting a proper woofer for those all important explosions/bangs in action movies. But when paired up with a good amp they do create some pretty deep bass. enjoy

  • ogh yea dire straits good songs

    nice speakers
