You should've posted the scene where he listens to "Hip to Be Square" and kills Paul. By FAR, the best scene of the movie! Especially that little dance he does! Ha ha ha!
He's a great method actor indeed as long as you don't WALK AROUND IN FRONT OF THE FUCKIN CAMERA and don't be FUCKIN BULLSHITTIN AROUND THE SET! So you better STAY OFF THE FUCKIN SET, MAN! FOR FUCK'S SAKE! Or else he'll want to FUCKIN KICK YOUR FUCKIN ASS! ...seriously we're fuckin done professionally, man...
Amazing movie, I remember watching it when it came out because I was bored and it blew me away, I knew Christian Bale had a future in films after this
haha i love his expression while saying: "I killed an alley girl with a chainsaw (crying)... i had to!! she almost got away!" hahahaha we understand patrick, you had no choice... hahahah
I wish to name this guy as a new 'Marlon Brando'. I know he doesn't deserve this title yet, but I assume his acting skills, his spirit, and his proud as an actor will someday make him fit for the title.
@LJITLOML Oh my gosh you are so right. I was legitimately freaked out during this scene! He could've played incorruptible Batman and psychopathic Joker and really messed with all our heads...
@DerHalbeEuro have you ever seen this movie? or did you come here for the sole purpose of putting christian bale down? this scene is very distictive from the rest of the movie and in no way "overacting" you sound someone in 6th grade drama
oh my gosh, i want to see this movie again! Christian Bale is great at playing emotionally powerful characters because he is super charged scary in real life.
@Stepanskiy23 It was just another way of showing his insanity. Sort of like the chapter, Glimpse of a Thursday Afternoon, where it just starts and stops midsentence.
@TucoRamirez2 Yeah his actual character is a bit flaky in the book too, he says at the end that he only feels greed and digust but he displays alot more emotions than that.
@jeruantalon When you are in such an intense movie like Terminator Salvation, when you're 100% concentrated, when you want to give your best performance ever, and somebody walks around, and disturbes you then what should you do? Smile?
"keep your eyes open". I love this scene. I haven't seen the movie, but I love this scene. To do this in the front of a camera, this guy can play everything. He was good as Batman, as Daniel, as John Preston, as the soldier in Harsh Times, as the little boy in The Empire Of The Sun. He can play whatever he wants, and can transform himself, once he can be a skinny crazy guy, and the other time he can be a big, strong killer.
He is one of the best actors in the world, and he is sexy too :D
@tekergomeli I really liked that film Equilibrium. I felt that he gave one of his greatest performances to that film. Also, he got to kill a lot of people there too.
This is nothing compared to when Christian Bale freaked out on the shooting of Terminator 4. If he could do THAT in a movie, well that would be a performance!!
I have liked Bale long before Batman and Terminator. And i even think that both batman and Terminator are far away from his best movie. But we can't expect great acting from protagonist role in those two movies. And i believe it is only for the purpose of getting fame.
The thing with this movie is that it has a HORRIBLE photography direction... maybe it's on purpose but that's beside the point, it does feel way bizarrely retro
this scene made me watch the whole movie. thank god i watched it. what a great movie. everything is so artificial, that everything becomes so important later... i can't really explain. great movie.
"... and some p***k named Shane, I beat him to death with his own lights, and some ginger chick whose dad is famous and who was also standing in my lights, I think someone got that on tape or something, and this other p***k named McG or some f**king letter like that, he's dead in a ditch in New Mexico somewhere ..."
Seriously, how does anyone watch Christian do a movie like this and then get in his way? Get out of his scene and let the man work for god's sake!
@Stepanskiy23 It's how one interprets the movie. I see it that he killed them but the culture he was in was so superficial and ignorant, nobody took notice. Nobody knows names i.e. Allen thought Bateman was Marcus Halberstram.
Love the Movie, so unappreciated when it was released. Every year it gains credibility. I watch it whenever its playing, some truly hysterical scenes, gotta love the business card scene
Is that in the movie? Because in the book he runs into his lawyer at the end, who mistakes him for someone else and tells him about the phone call thinking it was a joke.
this scene is SO much better in the movie then it is in the book. in the book, he just says he called his lawyer and said he was a pretty sick guy. but in the movie, like this is fucking awesome, this is a fucking great scene
can you imagine getting home after a day of grocery shopping with your kids, it says on your answering machine you have one new message, you hit the play button.....and it's this?
@sexysteveontour08 it's good. dramatic and intense. based on a true story. It's REALLY good if you can relate to the main character........i thought it was really good
@maya06227 it IS based on a true story, I also relate to the main character cuz i 2 am a serial killer...i read all of this on wikipedia...after posting it on wikipedia....
