The starting part till 0:17 is perfect for drag racing in a 69 challenger or a 2003 Jaguar XK convertible then after that, it is green lights and away you go, i can see the desert heat on the horison when I listen to this song in my car on a hot summer day (even though I live in Canada)!!!!
I remember reading something from Michael Moorcock where he said the average SF novel embodies the attitude of the average 14 year old boy towards women....
Mind, doesn't quite explain how similar images to the ones on here found their way onto the covers of a few of his books.
Hahah, seeing the comments above, I decided to go through my Hawks collection and have a look at where it came from. Night of the Hawks was the EP, I have it on a collection called Mighty Hawkwind Classics 1980-1985 (which probbly made up the second disc of the above mentioned compilation). Used to hunt down this stuff with some passion in my teens and twenties, good times...:)
I like the sweet, magikal danger, the dreamily ethereal or ethereally dreamy quality of this video. I like these maidens and their lords, especially the maidens at 3'00''. Feel the danger.*Dream* X
@eliaslemme It kind of does but this is before Priest. I love Priest. I just heard of this band and I am already hooked. However Nazareth is my all time favorite band.
@BetterTasteThanU Apart from trying to wind people up, why are you watching things you obviously have no interest in? are you a complete twat or are there parts of the course you haven't finished yet?
This song did not appear on Chronicle of the Black Sword until it was added as an extra track in the AtomHenge release in 2009. It did appear on the LIVE album "Live Chronicles" (that's where this is from) which was later re-released as "Chronicle of the Black Sword (Live) All time classic song no matter what.. =D
Never the less, that is the CD I got it off of. Pink Cover, 2 discs. Includes ValiumTen, Kings of Speed alternate version. I packed away all the cd;s. Gone Digital. Sorry if my info is not correct, but I just post what I have.
hehehe, ive gone digital too, funny really, ive gone from vinyl and chrome tape to plastic to digital in 20 years, back then hawkwind had been fore-warning us all of a digital future for the previous 10years or so, now we all so willingly jump head 1st into the digital age they warned us of lol
I may be wrong. Memory says its from live chronicles.. someone said its the studio version. I think I'm right, but I'm first to admit my memory isn't very reliable these days.
@sammycoin Υour comment is 1 year old but nevertheless i must write you that Dragons & Fables is not from Golden Void...Because this is a compilation. Dragons & Fables is on b side of their rare ep named ''Night Of The Hawks - The Earth Ritual Preview'' (with Lemmy singing on this song too). It was realeased from FlickKnife Records (HawkWind label if i remember well), which is for years now closed. They released it right after the magnificent lp ''Chronicles Of The Black Sword'' album. Check it.
...Chronicle of the Black Sword also has this song - the 2 disk version anyways. . . not sure about the single disk one. I checked on the Wikipedia - it was on of the bonus tracks on the version released by Atomhenge. I had the CD . . . but now I live in Japan so I ended up leaving it behind in USA.

I think all of the "Chronicles" songs sound best on the Live Chronicles set recorded live at the Odeon. They have a faster, much smoother feel.

This is a Huw Lloyd Langton song from 1985s Chronicle of the Black Sword, the bass player was indeed Aland Davey

Does anyone know if Lemmy played on this track? I thought he helped out around the time of this 12", though the bass doesn't sound like his style?
