Froyo 2.2 on the Droid Eris

Whenever I try to "reboot recovery" while trying to install ROM on my eris it just goes to a black screen with a phone and a red triangle with an exclamation point inside and stays there. Does anyone know how to help me?

I rooted and installed KaosFroyo yesterday on my Eris and after a whole day of playing around with it I really liked it but I went back to android 2.1 because right of the back I encountered several bugs like the internet would not work, the camera also did not function, and the battery only lasted 2 hours. The bottom line is that the Droid eris does not have the hardware or horsepower to run Froyo and I believe Verizon made the right choice by not releasing Froyo for the Eris.

@jam7516 Yes I was but its working now, I just had to flash another ROM and then reflash the froyo ROM... its works but i lost all my contacts :( thank god for titaium back up!

I was able to get Froyo on my Eris in about 15 minutes. Very easy if you follow the instructions exactly.

Hey i was just wondering if you could help. I downloaded kaosfroyo v35 and when i go to flash it, it stops giving me an error message: cannot verify the rights to it. And the installation process aborts.

Rooting is safe and easy with the click root app. If it does not work out for you just install the 2.1 v3 leak and it should ask you to update after installing and bam you now are back to 2.1 stock.

Once I flash this rom, can I go back to the old system if I dont like the mod? (which is very doubtful) I just wanna make sure in case I have a hardware problem and have to get a replacement phone, which has already happened once.

@ranger5664 yeah theres a tutorial on how to go back to stock 1.5 and then back to stock 2.1. actually before you flash the rom, back up the nand and if you wanna go back just wipe and then reflash the nand backup in the amon ra recovery

@ranger5664 on the xda-developers website, go to eris forums and then android developement. doing this while mobile so i dont know the entire link. anything with froyo in it is 2.2 like khaos froyo on insensikal or tazz

no offense but if you didn't know that then you shouldn't be doing this. If you do it wrong it may break your phone...

@superchanklon i have no idea what you're downloading, but the roms come in .zip format. just move it to your memory card and boot into recovery to flash them. dont open them or anything, leave them as .zip files.

@Laptop1477 sorry late response you need a rom that has 2.2 not 2.1, most likely you have one of the other roms. Khaosfroyo or buuf or tazz are good froyo cyanogen based roms

The live wallpaper on my Samsung Vibrant doesn't lag the phone at all. Well actually let me retract that, certain one's lag it, but my favorite, which is the Nexus live wallpaper, doesn't slow it down. However when I run live wallpapers on Launcher Pro or LP plus, it definitely slows it down a bit, you can tell by opening the app tray that the smoothness loses quality when the live wallpaper is running. Otherwise the Vibrant runs live wallpapers better then any other Android device I've used.
