Winter Soldier: South Central Region

I've been following the winter soldiers since they began. I'm so disgusted that they get almost no news coverage at all. Their stories need to be heard. Maybe if they were covered more broadly, we could bring these wars to an end. I was a protester during the Vietnam war and had my share of tear gas and rubber bullets. I am mind boggled as to why everyone hasn't taken to the streets night and day. What has happened to the people here? I'm 58 and disabled. I can't do it anymore.

having participated in many protests, and petitioned my "representatives" ad nauseum, i really feel there is nothing we can do, except maybe stop paying our taxes. by funding the war, we are combatants, right?

I'm glad this word is continuing. So many people think now that there's a democrat in power for a while war will end on its own and we can all go about our television watching, consumer product buying and sitting on our asses.

thanks for stopping by. yeah, it is depressing the degree to which the people have been lulled into complacency about killing and maiming millions of people. and preparing to compound the disaster which is afghanastan. but as long as some a-hole decides to sign up to go kill people, there will be war.

i used to think that it was like darwin, and all the violent motherf*ers would kill themselves off, and with the military as far stretched as it is, who knows, might happen....

would be nice, but unfortunately megalomaniacs and cowards like to bring as many as they can down with them. The only way to stop it is to enlighten those who would sign up. One of my major missions now is giving the facts to the youth so they are not "tricked" into joining military through promises of higher education and threats that they will be nothing if they dont sign. yes! we do need to do counter recruitment for those that would be swayed by that. or even go into the recruiting centers and PRETEND to want to enlist, and ask all sorts of questions and waste the hell out of the recruiters time and resources.

Guess what, you think recruiter's really care? I got paid every two weeks no matter what. Sure, there are overachievers everywhere who want to put in hundreds of recruits. I just wanted the day to end so I could just go home to my wife and son. not a recruiter now, but for the recruits I put in, they are doing well and most chose to stay in the Army, but you wouldn't know anything about it because you probably never served. Can you at least join the salvation army for me? some army. KISS Army?

I think so, because there is a chance that you will have to work with the people you put in.

I would also like to ask you why you assume I have never served? I just got back from Iraq three days ago.
