Seriously; look at how much work they put into the Prime series. All the detailed scan data; all the well-thought out creature designs. Hell, Prime 2 had a scan entry on grass! On freaking GRASS!! I've never seen such in-depth work on a video game in my life; Retro literally brought the Metroid universe to life with the Triology. Nintendo needs to draft them for Metroid Wii U; would be epic!

Samus' character in the game was fine. The problem with it is that she fails to acknowledge her past endeavours such as being raised by the Chozo or fighting Ridley a bazillion times, thus making a couple cutscenes strange for Metroid fans like us.

I'm sick of hearing how "out of character" Samus was in The Other M. Throughout the series she was completely devoid of this alleged "character" to begin with--it was the player who had to imagine one for her. I don't see how one can complain about development of a character that was never there; Other M endowed her with a personality and emotions--and if you do not like it, go back to your detached imagination of what she "should be," nothing but a hunk of metal. She may as well be all machine.

Metroid Prime is the best Metroid game (yes, even better than Super Metroid), and is probably the best first person shooter ever made.

What a nostalgia trip! I absolutely adored this game!

The little details were what made it amazing. Like the ability to scan life forms and learn a bit about them, or the way water would run off Samus' visor when it got wet, or how the barrel of your arm cannon would let off heat waves if you shot it continuously.

Team Ninja is historically bad at dialogue and characterizations, and it showed in spades here. No game in the Metroid timeline has had her show any kind of issues like Other M did. Other M, as I said, flipped her on her head, personality-wise. Also, her characterization comes from you playing her - playing the games in which you destroy everything in your path and do it with glee.
