Well spoken, that guy sounds really interesting! Caves are one of the last unexplored frontiers on Earth.
I would bring a lot of blank sheets of paper, enough pens and pencils to last, and a guitar or some other musical instrument. Why do you get to ask but not answer the question? I think you should answer it too. :)
That was interesting. You should do more Epic Mad Science Time. If I was to stay in a cave I would have to take my computer, books, movies, several journals, and a case of pens. I would need some sort of power supply. Otherwise, everything I take would useless in the dark.
i'm pretty sure i've trained myself to completely ignore the sun and have adapted to a 28 hour day schedule thing.
my three things would be: my brother, laptop with wireless internet abilities aaand one of those stupid kindle things so i could read limitless amounts of books.
My Kindle and charger, assuming there was "magical cave electricity", my iTouch and earbuds and charger and WiFi, and a TV (with cable, of course). I'm also assuming thati would be provided with human essentials and fresh air and SOME light with which to see and a toilet. This video was very interesting. Thanks, Robyn!
if i somehow have power in the cave i bring a treadmill so i can run and not get lost i bring a Kendell and its charger and last i would bring ball either a tense or a bouncy one so i can hit it on a wall and catch it
Assuming that food and water are taken care of... and these things are JUST to keep me entertained?
1. An iPad with as much music and as many books and photos as I could jam into it.
2. My nifty little hand crank powered charger/flashlight/alarm thingie that my Mom got me for my car... it charges almost anything and has zillion charger adapters that come with it. I love it.
I love this segment! I've never heard of Michel Siffre, and clearly he's done a lot of cool work. I'm amazed I never learned about him last year in my psychology class when we talked about sleep cycles. Also, Playlist Live <33333
I sleep during the days normally. I am nocturnal by nature and work nights. It does occasionally have adverse effects on my sleep cycle. Every Friday I stay up for 26 - 30 hours. You get used to it.
1) Sketch pad and sketching instruments. 2) MP3 player & charger. 3) iPad with reading material & charger if needed.
2. Scrapbooking materials and all of the pictures that have just been shoved into boxes over the years.
3. some sort of handheld gaming device. I'm sure I could make it last a long time by only playing for about 10 minutes and turning down the brightness. ^_^
Society may have one time had to conform to the earth, but it has long since ceased doing so. Our environmental system now includes near outer space with the goal of colonising other planets. On a superficial note, this hairstyle makes your eyes look crazy, however deceitfully because you are wonderful.
and if perhaps i am aloud to cheat two of those into a single item, I would likely bring the 2011 white pine book collection, although i would be likely to burn hearts at steak relatively quickly.
This story says something about the bitter irony of fears. Afraid of being forced to spend his entire life in as part of a society confined to caves as a result of nuclear exchange, Michel Siffre chooses to spend a great portion of his life in solitude in caves, totally cut off from the world he wanted to experience in the first place.
It also says that students who stay up for a straight day to write dissertations aren't that unnatural
2 really large books and papers/pen.Or 1 large book & a pen if it counts as a third item. Unless, of course, I could get electricity from a generator. I'm guessing the head probes got power from somewhere? Then I'd definitely bring my laptop as 1 of the items because I could read & write, listen to music, play games, watch previously downloaded videos, etc... (I'm assuming there's no internet in this deep dark cave)
In his defense, I think we'd all be pretty stunned if we got struck by lightning
Assuming that it is an experiment in the lack of external forces. Such things as internet, another person, electronic devices, and all of modern societies 'necessities' would be forbidden. Therefore a book, a flashlight with a hand cranked generator and rechargable batteries, and some sort of chalk. Most other items would taint the experiment. Even these few could be used to mark the passage of time and void the findings.
i guess... computer, guitar, His Dark Materials box set? (any long & interesting book series would work, especially HP, i just chose this one b/c it's been a while since i read it.)
Your accent make me so happy. It sounds like it's a mash of a couple natural accents and it's awesome. :D
This is a fantastic video and general idea. I'm so very happy that you did this, it's REALLY interesting and thank you so very much for giving me this information. <3 The last bit of this video was really beautiful. Thanks for your thoughts.
I adore that you said "entertainment" because that means I don't have to think practically.
1) My running partner cause she and I have keep each other sane on long runs, so I have faith in her for longer.
2) A deck of playing cards. I love card!
3) Tons of paper and ink so I can doodle and she can write.
The part that amazes me is that the sleep cycle got longer I would have bet the cycle would shrink. The idea of handling 48 hour days is wacky. Even the sleep part I love is hard to do more than 14 hours at a time.
This is really interesting. My psychology book says that humans naturally have a 22 to 23 hour sleep cycle. I'll ask my teacher about that.
Also, that quote was amazing. (And more importantly, is it possible to hear the sentence "If your light goes out, you're dead" without imagining that there were weeping angels in that cave with him?)
you're funny
