THATS MORE LIKE IT. That looked like serious FUN. One of the best vids on youtube..........apart from the fades between shots!!! perfect acompanying music and picture quality......id buy it (a 10 min version) if the transitions were NOT faded. Regards M.
Should be an excellent video but just couldn't watch it to the end because transitions gave me an headache. Cross fades would have been so much better.
Hey! Great video. I just start next week to get my 3 axis ultralight license, and I hope I get one of those great Dragonfly. By the way, great music too! Anyone know name and artist of the second song? It's simply great!
Awesome film Ben,I been trking 26 years this is microlighting for me !!! The out of focus fade in and out does my eyeballs though. You're on the right track dudes !
Beautiful music, great scenery, awesome flying and an all around excellent video... Thank you for giving the ground bound something to dream about ......
@Benashman Hi Again, I was only stating a preference for short dissolves and didn't mean to upset your pride in the work you've done and I did say that it's artistic license, so that's obviously your preferred editing detail. Anyway despite the difference of opinion I did enjoy the flying very much.
One thing that is not apparent in the video is that the pilots are intimately familiar with the landscape, their flying machines, and their own capabilities and state of mind. They know the location of all power lines, antennae, roads, landing spots, etc. at all times and the limits of their maneuverability. If they did not, they would not live long enough to film this video.
This is the exact same kind of flying my dad and I would sometimes do in our Piper J3 Cub. It was magical, connected with the earth flying.
Sometimes we flew that low to STAY connected to the earth because the solid overcast was at treetop level which is why we had to stay below the treetops. :O!
When I asked about colliding with someone else during such intense scud running he said "That's the beauty of it, no one else would be crazy enough to fly in this soup!"
Ben, Absolutely beautiful winter scenery. Low level flying like that is truly an exhilarating experience. Look forward to seeing one of the motorfloaters over here in US some time. Thanks for sharing !
Very nice! I love trike flying in the winter. Great lift, smooth air, you just have to dress for it. I love the ultralights. I have a 2 place Rotax 912 powered Northwing but if I were to do it all over, I'd go with a 103 ultralight. No government red tape in the U.S.
Flylight Website is your business portal! Get on it NOW!
Very very bad for business. It needs monthly updates at least. Great products, terrible business front end! are the ssdr's so nice you don't want to sell 'em?
Inspire us to buy. This video helps. How about a new look website?
As you can clearly see, the 500 foot rule has not been broken, the 500 foot rule is not a vertical seperation rule, please read up and understand the rule before making silly comments!
In the UK the 500 foot rule is, 'not within 500 feet of person, vehicle, vessel, etc. and that is why this shows legal flight and not illegal flight, please, no more comments like this :o).
Any info on these? I just checked your website and couldn't find anything :o( I've got an Avian Java and I'm getting old to do the hills. I've always thought that using a motor was cheating but now I'm getting seriously tempted.
@Qdos As far as i know, you'd be looking at a FLPHG.... not a machine featured here as they come under the "microlight" category.... if you want hang glider + power, check out FLYINGLEEK... if you want one of the machines here, you need to look into a PPL type license, which involces a hell of a lot more.... if you ask me its a bullshit blurring of the lines, but it is a blurring none-the-less.
@joeslifeyork Thanks for the info, assuming you're referring to flyingleek here on YouTube he uses a Mosquito which I've been aware of and infact has been used previously with my glider by the previous owner, I am getting a bit lazy in my old age and do like the idea of supine and wheels but yep I guess that would mean I'd have to do another course I suppose. Perhaps Ben can clarify what you need by way of paper qualifications to fly these?
Beautifully shot. Wonderful country side Excellent music. Really hard to watch with all the dissolving in and out of a cut. Can you do it again with out that most annoying effect?

Hi Ben,
The motorfloater looks great. Do the wheels retract like the Dragonfly?
Best regards, Jeff B (Oz)

Hi Jeff,
This is a no nonsense economy trike that gives nothing away for shear fun. No retracts, it is not designed for outright eficiency, just outright fun.
