  • Wow, Ken Squire is old.

  • Sad to see fatal crashes and you can see the driver through the window

  • As a racer I have been told so many times to not "go for it" when there is a wreck in front of me. This has caused many injuries and deaths. Bastards that still try to be yellow flag heroes really piss me off.

    RIP Tiny

  • RIP Tiny Lund! <3

  • 1:09 And thus, Tiny never was able to race a car ever again, for he died that day. Here, in the twilight zone.

  • At 1:08 The 26 car was Tiny Lunds car.

  • Look at those wrecked cars starting at 0:58.

I'm always suprised that more drivers didn't die back in those days.

  • No, Tiny Lund car was the first car off the track. His wife came over and bitch slapped his ass to death! RIP Tiny Tiny...

  • Buddy Baker broke down in tears in victory lane after hearing of Tiny's death.

  • Did he die of head injuries or something?

  • @acenace24 Probably massive internal injuries. His car is the #26 on the wrecker at the very end of the clip.

  • I was supposed to be at that race. I went the weekend prior, but they rain delayed it until the following weekend. They had pre-race parades for a while in the morning. Unfortunately I had to get back to El Paso and missed that '75 race at Talledega.

  • Lund’s nickname was a misnomer. The native of Iowa stood 6-6 and weighed about 275 pounds.

  • This was alot like the wreck that killed Buren Skeen, there is another video on here with most fatal NASCAR wrecks on it. You can see the car plow into Tiny's car and hear the "explosion." I have a die cast car of Tiny's Daytona, I didn't know he had died in a crash. I'll look at it with more respect now...

  • @SuperBallDeep He earned respect. He saved Marvin Panch from a fiery wreck at Daytona, pulled him out of the car. I believe that was 63, the year Tiny won the 500.

  • tiny lund was not really supposed to be in the race...not sure why, someone called him to be substitute for another driver.

  • @vidEvWill: Here's what happened: Tiny Lund hadn't qualified for this race. The one that qualified was Grant Adcox (who died in 1989 at Atlanta). Grant's crew chief though, Gene Lovell, died from a heart attack, so the team withdrew. Adcox replaced another driver and Tiny Lund (who was the 1st alternate) took his car and replaced Adcox's car on the grid.

  • was lunds car the one that was hit drivers side and ended up backing into the outside wall?

  • @C0LL1N no his hit the grass dirt hill and yeah

  • @C0LL1N yeah that's Lund's car. dont listen to mw2masterful

  • Comment removed

  • @mw2masterful I'm not doubting that. I'm just sayin in this case Lund's car is the one in the outside wall

  • @OldSchoolNascar o ok sorry then i was just making a guess the car that hit the grass hard looked like it killed him. my grandpa was a stock car racer in the 50's.

  • Tiny Lund & Larry Smith Removed their Helmet Padding That was a Big Mistake but if Lund had Massive Chest Injuries My theory is they Caused a Heart Attack like Grant Adcox He had them too in His Accident at Atlanta in 1989! Wikipedia has some Background Stuff on it too.

  • First time I seen this and have been looking for this since 2007

  • RIP Tiny Lund...

Also, what's creepy is that in this accident, there is another driver that lost his life in another crash, J.D. McDuffie (#70), who died at the Glen in 1991!!! RIP J.D.!!!

  • thanks alot for this super rare film. i was 11 y.o. and was shattered when i was told about tinys crash and never thought i would see it. i searched endlessly for this. by posting it you've replaced all my made up ways the wreck happened with truth.

  • @26667030 You are not alone

  • That last car the 26 was lunds car ...

  • I was there. Tiny's car was no more than 4 ft. wide (at point of impact) after the hit into the drivers door. Unsurvivable.

  • Tiny removed helmet padding and paid the price! That wreck was survivable if he didn't remove the padding.

  • @Porygonseizureman Actually it was Larry Smith who removed helmet padding. A wreck like this is unsurvivable, period.

  • @Porygonseizureman He had massive internal chest injuries. This was a sad day for the sport.. Tiny was a hero of a man.

  • Its a part of history, it happen, just like any other tragedy, OldSchoolNascar is just sharing the history with us. Its not about the severity of the wreck its about the fact that it happened and he is sharing this Tragic historical moment with us.

  • Look at the left side of the car in the laft corner at 0:15 ... This is a fatal crash

  • Maybe this isn't it. I don't see any fire. I think it is though, to be honest.

  • Just to think. That can happen today and it would be like a piece of foam hitting them. Its so safe now.

  • @bmxrcodol04 Maybe, but in this case, Lund did get hit by Terry Link's car which would have been going very quickly at the time, in the drivers door.

  • awesome footage

  • Why do you have this as unlisted?

  • @JeffG24Rox i hate uploading fatal accidents. this is so people don't complain to me about uploading a fatal accident they didnt wanna c. dont blame me, blame them

  • @OldSchoolNascar I see. It's just that I've wanted to see what happened, but could never find the video. The only reason I found this was becuase of legonascar88fan :)

  • @OldSchoolNascar Like they can't see the word Fatal on the title? So put a warning at the beguinning of the video. I Just can't believe this reason. People should be able to police themselves.

  • @OldSchoolNascar I'm surprised this is popular demanded... I would have refused to load it to my account, and give the video to a friend. I don't like fatal crashes either :(

  • @OldSchoolNascar if they dont want to see it then why do they click on your video
