Do a Google search for "Motorola Rival / A455 Assign a Custom Ring Tone" without the quotes. The first link that shows up is the one you want. It's direct from Motorola and it works. (I now have the Brunnen G war chant from LEXX as my phone's ringtone!)

It works to add a folder named my_ringtones. After filling the folder with ringtones you then must move the ones into the phone to use as your ringer under options-move to phone.

if u use ur memory card.. you would have to put the ringtones in the folder that says my_ringtones then.. in ur phone move that ringtone to the phone memory

just add a my_ringtones folder and add your ringers, then insert the card, open your phone memory settings and transfer the tones you want to the phone by moving them from your card to your phone

For just loading directly to the card, you can use .mp3 or .wma. If you use Verizon's sync feature (Rhapsody or Windows Media player) then you can also use .m4a and .acc.

By the way, I work for Motorola. Legally, I have to tell you that.

There should be a little slide switch on the side of the SD adapter. If that's in the locked position, then you won't be able to write to it.

On the memory card adapter on the left side is a small "lock" switch. Make sure its up and unlocked, that removes the write protection
