Who said this does not mix well?? It seems like she is feeling her surrounding, like she is just happened to land there and is just taking her time... I think the Twins fit the feel of the moment, also Maya's expression, very very well. My personal congrats to you.
When I hear the guitar in the beginning I feel like I'm the one laying on the beach watching the seagulls. This band has a way unlike any other of making inanimate objects seem so real. To someone like myself who got into this band at such a later stage in my life it makes me cherish it even more because I realize now how much they have influenced our lives with their music. Thank you for the post I just wish you could have got the ending of the song. Thanks for the post!
That is the perfect setting for a song like this. I love the part when she is laying on the beach watching the seagulls. One of my favorite Cocteau Twins songs! The guitar has that airy watery sound to it I can just feel the waves at my feet. Their music has a way of penetrating the soul making even the most inanimate objects feel so real. My only wish is that it would have caught the end of the song in this video. Thanks for the post!
Well honestly, you could add Cocteau Twins to almost any visuals and it would deem it instant art magic. I could hold hands with my girlfriend while sipping soup with any track from Cocteau Twins and it would feel as if the universe opened up on us with spelndor....mixing Maya with Cocteau Twins is mixing sugar with butter.....not rocket science....but tasty (by nature).
Definately great choice in music. This is one of the most inspirational pieces in film history and I'd imagine it intimidating to tweak it in any way, but I really think the music choice was clutch! Good job.
what happened to maya's backward wave sounds? boooooo

-My favorite film and music! Thanks for this esoteric and beautiful combination.
Also, nice clip from "at land". The music adds an interestingly dramatic undertone to the film.

Not a bad choice of music... if you've got the rest of this film would you mind posting it? It's my favourite by Deren. Thanks.
