v6 is my daily driver because my v8 gets really bad fuel economy now.

Only difference is that my v8 is pushing 380-450 hp.

dude, what are you talking about. My v6 camaro has almost 300,000 miles and still runs like a chamo, never been rebuilt or had ANY major work done to it and it doesnt burna drop of oil. It also still to this day gets 30+ mpg. I have no idea what you are talking about.

I don't know? I think it sounds pretty rough, even for a V6. Actually come to think of it I don't think I would want my V8 to sound like that. It reminds me too much of an old beater that needs some modifications. If anything it sounds more like a downgrade than an upgrade. It would have been better to just buy nice headers and exhaust.

all 5.0's produce over 200 hp most around 225 hp to the rear wheel sorry i did not mean to say 200 to the ground. i agree that the gt will not touch the ls1. My car WILL NOT beat a 5.0 i know this for a fact. unless the 5.0 was shifting early i just do not see how the 3.8 would have beet him especially not hitting 3rd gear. our cars loose almost all power at 3rd.

But anyway, great sound, I got a 3800 in my gp gt and its a nice ass engine, great pickup for a V6 and a heavy car, it was originally developed to replace gas guzziling V8's in 70's so it should sound like one. Closest thing to a V8 without being one. Good job!!! And when you can get a V8, you should be able to get a brand spankn new one with an LS2 yay!!!!

ok the 3.8 stock is puting 190 to the ground,, ha ha every 5.0 that ford has made produces over 225 the 3.8 is rated at 200 hp to the crank. the 5.0 is also lighter than the camaro depending on what year? was the maro auto or stick and how about the stang? was it auto or stick?

both were stick,and the driver in the camaro never drove it before then,and the guy with the 5.0 had the car for like 6months,and not all 5.0 have over 200hp to the wheels,i have heard of 5.0 only making 180hp to the wheels stock. and your a camaro guy why are you questioning what i'm saying there isnt a stock gt made that could touch a ls1

sounds like a v8 at idle, could be because the 3800 is the same cylinder bank angle as a v8, ive noticed the v8 like idle also on 4300 equipped trucks with aftermarket exhausts the 4300 is a 350 small block with 2 cylinders chopped off, the 3800 was created much the same way in 1962 from the aluminum 215 buick v8

up until about 2000 RPM this thing will sound exactly like a V8. Anything above that really gets raspy, and it's very clear that it is a V6, so that's why this video stays below that limit.
