She's a wonderful solo artist with great intonation and unerring musical instinct. I love the way she does a haunting piano at 4'22" like whispers. The arpeggiation is perfect. I played this for an honors recital in 1979 and I admire all the artists who can do this well. I'm older and don't compare anymore. They are all gifted by God. I hope Miss Viktoria continues on!! Thank you 4 sharing.
Every version of this is different. One of the things I like about Bach's chaconne is how it differentiates the musician playing. She is clearly talented but I far prefer Hilliary Hahn's interpretation from the female violinist camp. From the male side I couldn't choose between Perlman and Heifetz.
Watch the second half! Its sad most people dont watch the second half. She plays the second so beautifully. She has a delicateness that I dont see in other musicians and that I cannot do. Please thumbs up this so people will watch the other half!!!!!
Only the instrumental music, disregarding any collaboration or combination with other arts. can clearly express the peculiar nature of music. Only she can give clarity to the art. The music reveals to man an unknown world which has nothing in common with the material world ... He forgot all the feelings that could set to another (in words), to surrender to the inexpressible ...
@WynneAllerion deeper notes on the viola as it has a lower bottom string (c string) and a lower top string (a string). also, being slightly larger, the viola has a more mellow, less piercing/bright sound than the violin.
Up to now I liked Perlman's vision of this piece best, but I like this even better; there is something so very Bach-like in the short notes the way Viktoria handles it here that entrances me. I think Glen Gould would have approved, too. Next week I may change my mind. :)
sin duda una exelente vilinista como para tocar a Bach, y luego la chaccone, no mis respetos, pero sabes por que compuso Bach esa pieza? espero tu respuesta
genuine musician. Very short notes due to the space she's playing in. It gives the piece something spiky, but not unpleasant. This lady knows what she does
@dajohnthomas69 eh, she looses so much here. Those notes she shortened are really supposed to cut to the bone. looses so much tension there. still not a bad rendition.
I'm used to hearing Jascha Heifetz's version of this song. So this to me, is not a very good version. Disagree with me if you will, but like I said, I am used to hearing Heifet's version of this and to me, his version flows so smoothly. Her's is choppy at the beginning. It does get better as she progresses though. I would still love to play like this, no matter what my opnion because she is good.
1. I know how to use one, thanks very much. As you can see, I use them through out my comment.
2. Like I said, it's my opinion. TO ME, his version is the best. If you do not agree, that is fine.
3. I find it funny how you say I am a fruit when I am 5 months pregnant with my HUSBAND'S child. You really need to learn that just because you don't share an opinion with someone doesn't give you the right to insult them. That's some grade school crap, grow up.
What does being pregnant have to do with not being a fruit? They are not mutually exclusive. It is hardly an insult and you should learn to see others' points of view before saying that this version is not a very good version. It is an awesome version, much better than you could play.
The fact that I am pregnant with my husband's child means I am not a fruit. I'm sorry, I should learn to see other's pov? You were the one who started this because I happened to have a different point of view from your's. I think that is called being a hypocrite. And the fact that I said "I would love to play like this" obviously shows I cannot play the violin. I never said her's was a bad version either did I? Why don't you actually read my comment before trashing it.
Yes, but it was also MY opinion. Why are we arguing about an OPINION of mine? Obviously we disagree about which version is the best. So let's just leave it at that.
point out my mistakes please, besides "u" which is short for you. Now stfu which is short for shut the fuck up, big boy. Punctuation does not equal spelling and grammar anyway so don't criticize me when you suffer from an abnormal dearth of intelligence
Yes, but if you're bitching about grammar, then you should make sure your own use of the English language is precise and flawless, not riddled with errors.
You're probably some stuck-up North American that has--what--a 20 words-per-minute typing ability?
Most people I know--unless they suffer from some sort of illness--can type properly and quickly without having to resort to annoying "short-cuts".
What makes this even funnier, is that you probably only know this one language. ;]
Ok if you want to be critical, you made a mistake in your last comment. Anyone knows that when you address two things then you must conjugate the verb in the third person plural form which is "lack" not "lacks". I do not know what my wpm is but I am what you would consider a computer nerd who types everyday, be it on chats or games. English is not my onl
(continued) y language and even if it were, there is no reason to not type u instead of you; who wants to take the time to type out you when you can just use one letter? It saves time. Not only this but there are no errors in any of my comment, merely one "shortcut" as you have come to call it.
So what are you anyway, some sort of stuck up European?
Okay, if you want to be critical, you typed "there are no errors in any of my comment", anyone knows that when you address multiple nouns then you have to use the plural versus the singular.
Also, no, I was born in Australian and grew up learning Transylvanian. You should take a course some time--granted--you'd most likely do worse in it than you did in English...Not that you did very well at that. =/

No, I was referring to my entire comment; since you were born in "Australian" then you can't criticize my English which is far superior to yours.
