This was actually a very good video and it has been the only one out of many that I have seen that really has helped me better understand exposure and f stops.. thanks!
The absolute best explanation of f-stop, shutter speed, and exposure on the internet. I'll say it again---"The absolute best explanation of f-stop, shutter speed, and exposure on the internet." Have I seen every video on these subjects? Nope. I don't have to. I stopped at this one. That's how I know it is the best. When the problem is solved, you don't continue to "solve" it. You move on to another problem...
@gilmeragency Wow, best comment ever! You totally made my day. I didn't think many people were watching so I started to wonder if I made everything clear. Thanks again. Stay tuned, the next Photography related video will be about lighting.
Great Video!!!!!! I have been struggling to fully understand other peoples tutorials on how to use shutter speed and F-stop together because they didnt show the camera menu and show what it was doing also it helps cause you are using a Nikon instead of a Cannon so high fives on useing a Nikon. I bumped up from a d60 to a d300s and this tutorial has helped me use the full potential of my camera. So thanks again, make more vids and I will definatly subscribe right now.
@jdesign918 I'm so glad you found this helpful. My goal is to make it as digestible as possible. I will be making another vid on lighting, but it such a big subject, I want to make sure I keep it simple.
@MarshaPierceTomlin I know this is probably not going to be the answer that you want but... I think most digital consumer cameras take good pictures. Since it's for the web/blog, he will not need a ton of resolution 5 - 8 mega pixels is more than enough. The main thing is to learn HOW TO USE THE CAMERA and PAY ATTENTION TO THE LIGHT. My next photo 101 vid will be on basic lighting. Hope this helps.
@CandidAnn I'll use these tips. And stay tuned for your basic lighting vid. Im the on elooking for a basic camera for my blog/web. My son is a pro and will get SLR eventually for his work/personal use. I didn't understand why he wanted it, but after seeing your vid and your photography skills now I get it.
@MarshaPierceTomlin Thanks so much. I'm glad this vid was helpful. The main reason for getting an SLR is that you are not limited by your lens. Since the lens controls the aperture (f.stop), and you have the ability to take your lens off at anytime, SLRs are very versatile. What kind of blog do you have?

This is a fantastic review that should be referred to any student who is learning about photography.
You take the time to explain things in lamens terms, instead of like a "pro" who assumes we know a bit to begin with.
I've saved this to favorites to show my friends and family who will soon be introduced to the concepts you discuss.

Also my lense is an F2.8. Do you think it would be worth my money to get a 1.8 with an 18-75 mm or would you suggest going down to a 1.8 for macro?
