That's not me trying to be all elitist and intellectual, it's just how I see things.

@GloriaGlowable Who's to say we don't have proof of God? The proof is all around us. I'd much rather believe the word of a perfect being than follow my imperfect mind. Why else do you think that most of the theories in your "Scientific Revolution" are still theories? People are imperfect. We can't find the answers. Which is why it took us 6000 years of existence to even come up with half of the accepted theories out there. And why none of them can be proven.

The only leg the "spiritual realm" has to stand on is personal accounts, which is very wobbly. As far as that's concerned I would say everything else is far more real. Or even just "real".

@BranJLewis I never said I "knew" there's no god, nor did I say anything about prayers. I used to believe in God, now I don't; however, I still have hope and faith. I just put it in people whom I know for a fact are there for me and whom I can identify with. I also seek wisdom and accept truth, but I only accept things as true if they're proven to be. That's not me trying to be all elitist and intellectual, it's just how I see things.

@alexface211 One thing I've learned is that when I put all my hope and faith in people, I'm let down a sufficient amount more than when I put my hope and faith in God. I understand that's how you see things, and I'm not trying to convince you to see or believe otherwise. Just "putting my two cents in". I prefer to seek wisdom through a higher power as opposed to all the people I'm surrounded by who each have a different perception in their head of this thing called life.

I get all sorts of good feelings, feelings of love, etc. from different things, but I could just as easily say that those feelings are proof of the existence of endorphins, or... Venus, the godess of love.

@GloriaGlowable If you were about to fall in a hole that your friend knew was there and it would certainly mean your doom if you did, wouldnt you want your friend to tell you about it. Even if you didnt believe them, they saw it..they know the hole is there, wouldnt you want them to warn you about what they knew to be real even tho you didnt believe them. Just a thought.... not all of us Christians are trying to force change, but more so we see the situation as I have described.
